Star Portals are “Up”

I’ve had triple whammy syncs today about two Star card portals–and synchronously I see that I’m beginning to type this post right at my birth time, which shows up at key moments in my life. Noted!

On Christmas Eve, I started working again on the Star Gate portal I first conceived of in January 2021. Not one, but two portals jumped ahead of this one–the Queen of Wands and the Strength portals, both commissioned pieces. Because I attuned all three of these portals together, in some way, I feel like completing my own portal will further activate the other two. As if to confirm that, I’ve had a flurry of syncs from sweet faery sis Tania Marie and two people who each commissioned two portals from me, including the Queen of Wands woman.

Tania’s blog post today includes a “Star Gate” sound healing meditation she did on Christmas Eve Eve. She alluded to this on Christmas when I told her I had worked on the Star portal on Christmas Eve, but I only saw her full post and the sound healing today.

I also received an email from Queen of Wands and Two of Cups portals woman saying:

I woke up in the middle of the night and wondered what time it was.  I don’t have a clock in the room, so I asked Alexa, “Alexa, what time is it?”

“It’s 12:34 AM”

Duly noted.  😊

Then I noticed I had emails from the “Peace of the Blue Irises” and Justice portals woman saying: On Saturday Christmas Eve at 1:23 central I saw a license plate that read STAR-11.  On Christmas Day I saw an actual shooting star in the sky.

She then sent me a link to Our Lady of Pontmain. Note how she kind of looks like Lady Justice. As I pondered her email, I realized that my original Star card portal–a commissioned piece from 2010–was door number 11. STAR-11.

What does it all mean? I don’t know, but “they” have my attention! Today, the Sun crosses my North Node destiny point, and the Wounded Knee massacre finally comes full circle with ceremonies for the returned human remains and artifacts. It’s also the third exact hit of the First US Pluto Return. Big shifts. I continue to work on this Star portal as January’s Full and New Moon will hit my chart in extremely precise and activating ways.

In case I don’t post before 2023, Happy New Year! We’ve earned it. 🙂

January 2023 Forecast and First Quarter North Node Horoscopes

JANUARY 2023 FORECAST

We begin 2023 with Mercury, Mars and Uranus still retrograde. All of that changes this month. Pace quickens from January 12 onward, as long restrained urges for freedom, action and understanding catapult forward. We also enter Aquarius Season, the sign of the liberator and revolutionary.

January 1 Venus conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. New Year’s Day begins with passion, intimacy and profound desire. New Year’s Resolutions made today emerge from a deeper, more intense place than usual. Relationship power dynamics and self-esteem issues affected by shame or abuse will also arise for review. This conjunction supports radical shifts. Remember: emotions are raw energy. Use them well!

January 2 Venus enters Aquarius. In the next 24 days, relationships gain more tolerance, interdependence, and experimentation. Our values shift towards more universal considerations, intergalactic connection, and authenticity. Beware of panning so far back that you lose touch with your heart. Venus is an emotional planet. Aquarius encourages wider perspective, but sometimes it gets a bit too detached.

January 6 Full Moon in Cancer, 6:08 p.m. Eastern Standard US time. According to Dane Rudhyar, the Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is: (CANCER 17°): THE UNFOLDMENT OF MULTILEVEL POTENTIALITIES ISSUING FROM AN ORIGINAL GERM. KEYNOTE: The life urge to actualize one’s birth potential. What a beautiful and encouraging start to 2023! At the time of the Full Moon, the Capricorn Sun point trines Uranus in Taurus, which sextiles the Moon point. The presence of Uranus brings extra energy for breakthroughs and liberation.

January 7 Sun conjunct Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn. Pay attention to insights that arise from ongoing rumination. As we review and revise details, structures and top-down authorities, a spotlight reveals answers that eluded us before. No need to implement changes right now, but do note whatever comes through. It will create a strong foundation for future goals.

January 9 Venus in Aquarius trine Mars in Gemini. An uplifting time as the Cosmic Lovebirds support each other in their mutual desires. We feel energized and optimistic, more tolerant and able to negotiate win-wins. A great time for creativity, especially creative writing.

January 12 Mars stations Direct in Gemini. Finally! If you’ve felt stymied since October 30 when Mars stationed Retrograde, you’ll feel a lift. It might not happen right away–as the planet of action pauses–but from now through late March, we’ll see a flurry of activity. Information wars heat up, as do demands and negotiations. Actions can now proceed, relevant to whatever got exposed by the December 7-8 Full Moon in Gemini conjunct Mars Rx. Delayed response to prior events comes after months of careful strategy and consideration.

January 18 Mercury stations Direct in Capricorn. The Messenger pauses for intense reflection as the Sun conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. Pay attention today, especially to deep insights and dark revelations. Underlying motives and shadow players become apparent. Once Mercury starts moving again, we can catch up on all the delayed contracts, details and misplaced emails.

January 20 Sun enters Aquarius. For the next month, we feel more open minded, easy going and humanitarian. Creativity flows when we embrace unusual perspectives. This is a good time to catch up with friends, old and new. On the positive side, Aquarius can unite disparate factions for the Highest Good of All. On the negative side, Aquarius can censor dissenting opinions and get sucked into cults and mass movements. Beware of extremism, peer pressure or getting too detached from your heart. Lean into upgraded intelligence and innovations. Focusing on evolution instead of mere revolution ensures we benefit from this time period.

January 21 New Moon in Aquarius, 3:53 p.m. Eastern Standard US time. On a personal note, this New Moon conjuncts my own natal Moon, within minutes. Rounding up to 2° Aquarius, we find Dane Rudyhar’s Sabian Symbol for this New Moon: AN UNEXPECTED THUNDERSTORM. KEYNOTE: The need to develop the inner security which will enable us to meet unexpected crises. The Ruler of this New Moon–Uranus–stations Direct the next day. Stationing always amplifies the energy of an outer planet, and Uranus is the planet most associated with thunderstorms, especially lightning bolts. Anytime we deal with Aquarius or Uranus, we’re wise to “expect the unexpected.” We can’t prepare for everything, but we can pay attention to signs, synchronicities, dreams and “psychic downloads” urging us to take certain preparatory steps. When we work with the Unseen world, we experience greater resilience, peace and ease in the 3D world.

January 22 Uranus stations Direct in Taurus and Venus conjuncts Saturn in Aquarius. A powerful day! Uranus sends a spark of genius–or a flash of chaos. No one knows what this Cosmic Weirdo may do at any given moment. He’s like the Tower card in Tarot, a revolutionary, Mr. Wild Card Liberator stationing Direct in the most rooted, stable sign of the zodiac. Well, Taurus likes stability. With Uranus stirring things up since May 2018 and the North Node still retrograding its way through Taurus since January 2021, this Earth sign of banking, fertility, food, the body and personal values keeps getting zapped. Will lightning strike on 1/22/23? Who knows?! Outer planets exert the most pressure as they station, but will the earthquakes be literal or metaphorical? When the Love Goddess conjuncts Saturn, beautiful creations can more easily manifest. In zany Aquarius–co-ruled by both Saturn and Uranus–anything goes. With both these transits on the same day, we can predict something unusual will happen. Keep your head on a swivel and yer dancin’ shoes at the ready.

January 26 Venus enters Pisces. The Love Goddess is exalted in romantic and unconditionally compassionate Pisces. The next few weeks bring lovely support for art, fantasy, poetry, music and personal makeovers. Everything gets an extra dose of Faery Glamour, and it’s easy to tilt at windmills like Don Quixote. Discernment will be in short supply, but we’ll love being in love. Even the coldest hearts start to melt with Venus in Pisces. Look for beauty. You will find it everywhere!

How January’s sky weather affects you will vary, depending on your entire natal chart, but your North Node Horoscope transcends monthly sky events. That’s because your North Node reveals what your soul came here to do. By midlife, the soul starts longing and pressing us to live our true purpose. At first, it whispers through intuition. Then it knocks a little louder through “coincidences” and external events. When not heard and honored, the soul’s longing can show up as health crises, marriage or work issues, or wondering “is this all there is?” If you feel a need to reinvent yourself, following North Node guidance helps you do that authentically — for you.

Unlike generic Sun Sign horoscopes, which ignore so many other aspects, following North Node guidance will always lead you in the right direction. Doors open, healing happens, relationships improve, and life gets more magical. This quarterly column will help you tap into your personal North Node Mojo. When you start living your North Node purpose, we all win, because you not only begin to light up your own life. You light up the world.

You can find your North Node sign here which is often different than your Sun sign. If you’re right on the cusp, consider both possibilities or book a reading for more clarity.

FIRST QUARTER 2023 NORTH NODE HOROSCOPES

ARIES NORTH NODE: First Quarter 2023 is good to Aries North Node natives! In January both Venus and Mars make supportive sextiles to Aries. Explore your passions and take action, especially from January 12 onward. Expansive, optimistic Jupiter–the Great Benefic–moves through Aries for this entire quarter. In March, Jupiter conjuncts Venus, Chiron and Mercury in Aries, adding blessings in relationships, healing, communication and big picture goals. Some of this quarter involves careful planning for your next twelve-year cycle. Dream big and have courage to make bold moves when opportunities arise. Keep your eyes, mind and heart open for miracles. Forge ahead. This is not an ordinary quarter.

TAURUS NORTH NODE: Continue to focus on liberation, as Uranus and the North Node make their way through Taurus. On March 16, Venus enters her home sign, bringing extra blessings, beauty and self esteem. You’ll experience productive friction from planets squaring your nodal axis from Aquarius. Challenges do not mean you’re off path. They nudge you to course correct in order to experience new levels of abundance and security. Taurus prefers not to change, but your sign continues to receive activations that demand adjustment. PTSD from Scorpio South Node memories could trigger fight or flight. If so, pause. Breathe deeply, step back from the situation and ask, “How am I already on higher ground?” Instead of telling everyone your answers, let these marinate and percolate behind the scenes. Once affirmations become habits, you can safely reveal your shifts even if others disapprove.

GEMINI NORTH NODE: As we move through Aquarius Season, any planet from Aquarius offers a supportive trine to Gemini. Anything from Aries offers a supportive (but more subtle) sextile to Gemini. This means Gemini North Node natives will also benefit from Jupiter moving through Aries until May 17. You’ll receive empowering, expansive energy for relationships, healing, and communication. If you’ve felt stuck, things should shift once Mars stations Direct in Gemini on January 12. From then through March 23, the God of Action and Willpower supercharges your sign. On March 25, Pluto begins to trine Gemini from Aquarius. Open your mind to possibilities of sudden action after a long pause. This quarter has an “awakening from the nightmare” feel to it, as well as rewards for patience and hard work. Saturn’s move into Pisces urges you to find a new spiritual foundation and structure for your life.

CANCER NORTH NODE: The January 6th Full Moon highlights your North Node sign, bringing a powerful reset to 2023. Whether through ritual or a quiet moonlit walk, really use this date to tune into your highest potential. The Moon rules Cancer, and this is one of the most powerful Full Moon’s all year. This quarter brings lovely energy from fellow Water sign Pisces, starting with Venus on January 26. The Sun follows in mid-February, with Mercury and Saturn joining in March. These soft trines to your North Node offer a chance to upgrade relationships, commitments and your all important home base. Mars enters your sign on March 25, activating destiny level change. With the God of Action moving through your sign, you’ll feel more energized and able to utilize emotions as fuel. After the slog of the last few years, First Quarter 2023 offers a chance to ground and revitalize yourself in something new.

LEO NORTH NODE: Aquarius Season urges retrospection and release for Leo North Node natives. Your Aquarius South Node gets a workout, especially in January. If old relationships, patterns or issues arise, recognize these as the completion of a cycle. You’re not backsliding. The Universe just wants to know, “Are you sure you want to leave all this behind?!” If “this” involves codependency, peer pressure and being a wallflower, then your soul says, “Yes! I’m ready to move beyond the old restrictions.” Cosmic Taskmaster Saturn has made his way through Aquarius since December 2020. That changes on March 7 when Saturn enters Pisces. You can sigh with relief having made it through another 28-year long sorting process. When deciding what stays or goes, pay attention to whatever makes your heart sing. Fame and fortune want to find you. The secret is dropping into your heart instead of your head. You matter.

VIRGO NORTH NODE: Pisces Season triggers your South Node, bringing old addictions, illusions and delusions home to roost. You might want to zone out, but discipline will serve you well. The March 7 Full Moon in Virgo offers a chance to get back on track if your New Year’s Resolutions petered out. That same day, Saturn enters your South Node sign. If you haven’t released that which no longer serves, Saturn will make his list, check it ten times and make sure you have a copy. Resisting this process slows your momentum. Embracing the need to create new habits brings balance and meaning to your life. Things that seem far away just need you to show up. Take a single step, and then another. Calendars, lists, and habits take you further than you can imagine. Yes, you’re a powerful daydreamer, but your soul wants you to be here now. Take those visions and give them tangible form. You have so much to offer this world!

LIBRA NORTH NODE: A feeling of destiny pervades this quarter. Anything in Aquarius or Gemini supports your nodal axis–helping you to release old patterns and step into why you came here. When Mars stations Direct in Gemini on January 12 and Pluto enters Aquarius on March 23, fellow Air Sign Libra gets a cosmic “go ahead.” These changing times offer great opportunities, but Libra North Node natives need to consider others, as well as their own needs. Take time to assess situations before charging full speed ahead. Jupiter moves through your South Node sign for this entire quarter. He’s big and bold, but his presence could also attract old things you’re meant to move beyond. If something seems too tempting or too good to be true, ask yourself, “Is this a test?” Pay attention to your first thought, and also discuss options with loved ones before making irrevocable decisions. It’s not all about you!

SCORPIO NORTH NODE: Anything in Aquarius squares/challenges your nodal axis, while anything moving through Pisces offers support. In other words, First Quarter 2023 is a mixed bag for Scorpio North Node natives. Overall, the energy says, “Go with the flow.” Dreams, love, mystical moments and a return to innocence. Your Taurus South Node wants to prepare for all “real world” contingencies, but your true preparedness occurs on the emotional level. Cultivate kindness to yourself, especially when dealing with feelings of shame, vulnerability and inadequacy. You don’t need to hold it all together. Change benefits your sign in major ways. You might go kicking and screaming to that change, but you don’t need to resist. If you wait for it in a calm, loving way, you’re more likely to “pull a phoenix” and rise from your own perceived ashes. Pay attention to your intuition, which guides you well. This could be a good time–as long as you make peace with change.

SAGITTARIUS NORTH NODE: Mars travels through almost all of Gemini during First Quarter 2023. Your South Node sign gets activated, and this could bring old relationships, opportunities and patterns back into your life. Some of these events could bring blessings, so don’t dismiss them outright. Do tap into your intuition and trust your gut. You have a strong sense of what does and doesn’t work for you. Pay attention and act accordingly. Aquarius Season treats you well with supportive sextiles as the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn move through that sign. You can dramatically improve your relationships during this time. Anything in Pisces squares your nodal axis, so pay attention to friction that arises from late January through Equinox. Challenges and irritation can lead to good things. If you run into closed doors, take a step back and search for other, more appropriate doors. Your Guardian Angels want to assist. “If not this, then something better” is extra true for you this quarter.

CAPRICORN NORTH NODE: This is an active and surprisingly intense quarter for Capricorn North Node natives. The January 6 Full Moon in Cancer encourages you to take the best of the old and refashion it into something more on path for you. Commit to living your full potential. Mars in Gemini quincunxes Capricorn throughout this quarter, and this aspect brings a nagging, creative, highly charged feeling. The quincunx aspect is fleeting, but if you feel it, pay attention! You’ll find opportunities to renegotiate tricky issues. This redo/review energy gets amplified by Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn until January 18. The Messenger remains in Capricorn until February 11, bringing extra insights about your life path. The big news for you is that on March 23, Pluto leaves your North Node sign for the first time since 2008. Pluto’s a heavyweight, and Cappy’s have felt his death and rebirth energy more than most. He’ll return to Capricorn in June, but this shift in March feels celebratory.

AQUARIUS NORTH NODE: It’s your quarter! The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn move through Aquarius this quarter, activating your North Node in a variety of ways. Pay attention to events that feel uncanny and orchestrated. They probably are. Destiny level shifts are on offer, and you’d be wise to take them. On March 23, 2023, Pluto enters Aquarius for the first time since 1797. He’ll return to Capricorn in June and won’t re-enter Aquarius until January 2024. Except for retrogrades and previews, Pluto will remain in Aquarius until 2044. This initial breakthrough on March 23 could rock your world. Or not. It depends on the exact degree of your North Node, but the sudden shift of this heavyweight into Aquarius affects your sign more than most. Identify areas of life that feel expansive, liberating and revolutionary, and release whatever stands in the way of that. Pluto promises rebirth and renewal, too. Anything not on path for you goes bye-bye. Let it go. Alchemy awaits.

PISCES NORTH NODE: Hello, Dreamer, it’s your Season! From late January through Equinox, your North Node receives mystical inspiration, creativity and romance. Mars moving through Gemini squares your nodal axis, and this friction can slow things down. Don’t despair, action will happen. Think of two sticks rubbing together to create a fire. It’s slower than a lighter, but, yes, fire appears. Allow yourself to daydream and know that “delay leads to delight.” Practical solutions to problems arrive by dreams, synchronicity, and intuition. These will work better for you than logic. When faced with an either/or decision, go with the pie in the sky. You’ll still need to show up. Sometimes you need to fill out forms, take supplements, exercise and meditate, but do these in service of something larger and more mysterious. The Great Mystery surrounds and moves through you. That will lead you where you need to go. Saturn travels Pisces from March 7, 2023-February 2026. He’ll make sure you do your inner work and commit to growth.

Happy Solstice!

This will probably be the last time I blog before the January 2023 Forecast goes up. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Solstice, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Blessed Holiday Season. David and I are mostly Yule folks since we got married on Winter Solstice. This will be our sixth wedding anniversary, but our twelfth Winter Solstice together–a full Jupiter cycle.

I found this video last night and it’s too beautiful to keep to myself. Sending love and wonder your way …

New Moon in Capricorn ~ December 23, 2022

My December 2022 Forecast shared:

December 23 New Moon in Capricorn, 5:16 a.m. Eastern US time. This New Moon occurs less than an hour after Chiron stations Direct in Aries. We’ve got a stellium with Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Pluto all in Capricorn. All that Capricorn energy brings sombre realizations and a desire for stability. The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon point is: THREE ROSE WINDOWS IN A GOTHIC CHURCH, ONE DAMAGED BY WAR. The damaged cathedral still stands, but Chiron Direct seeks healing after violence and destruction.

Dane Rudhyar’s full Sabian Symbol seems relevant to a world facing war and violence on international and domestic levels:

PHASE 272 (CAPRICORN 2°): THREE ROSE WINDOWS IN A GOTHIC CHURCH, ONE DAMAGED BY WAR.

KEYNOTE: The necessary realization by any individual making a violent use of collective power that it will lead to the inevitable destruction of some of the values ensuring group-integration.

It seems obvious that the interpretation of this symbol should refer to the disruptive consequences of war. The “chief” who claimed power from his tribe in order to lead or save it must reckon with the consequences of a too-impulsive use of this power in terms of violence. The integration he seeks to maintain or enhance may be partially destroyed if in his ambition he yearns to be the victorious war leader glorified by his people. A “rose window” is not absolutely essential to a cathedral, yet it symbolizes that through which the “light of the Spirit” enters into the edifice. Man’s soul is said to be three-fold. Which part of man’s inner trinity of principles tends to be destroyed by the use of violence? Evidently the principle of love and compassion.

This second stage symbol is in contrast to the preceding one because it opposes the power to destroy to the power to build. The “capital” of group-energies is partially squandered in armaments and death. WASTE is the opposite of group-integration.

This New Moon’s Sabian Symbol could apply to many current situations and issues. It comes as a warning to lean into peaceful rather than violent revolution. In our individual lives, as well as the collective, we need to temper our desire for change so as not to cause unnecessary harm. Frustration shouts, “Burn it all down!” in contrast to the careful, slower building of something new. Capricorn brings nebulous things into tangible form. There’s a lot floating around the ethers right now. We need to focus on what we want to create, so as not to waste our chance for peaceful and easier upgrades.

on astro-seek.com

Chiron stations Direct in Aries at the same degree as the April 1, 2022 New Moon. (Remember, we always round up for Sabian Symbols.) This 12 Aries degree evokes Cosmic Order. A higher principle operates beyond everyday concerns. Both then and now, there are many things moving in unseen realms. Chiron in Aries deals with wounds to the ego, the Self, and confidence. It can also manifest as depression, discouragement and fears that prevent us from igniting passion and forging ahead. Look back to April 1, 2022 for clues about which patterns and issues might arise for further healing in your life.

[UPDATE: If you were to click through the link to the April 1, 2022 New Moon post, that would give another major layer of context to Chiron stationing Direct in Aries. I give a little information in this post, but it’s a rabbit hole. If I have to show ALL my math, I will never get through astrology posts, because they always link into earlier times, kind of like how my Dream Guys will give me a dream with a symbol. I’ll say, “Wait! I had another dream with that same symbol.” Then I look up that dream, and it’s totally relevant for today’s message. Anyway, if you want more insights into the Chiron portion of this New Moon, check out the April 1 post, too. Otherwise, just know it raises potential for healing and cosmic order.]

The stellium in Capricorn (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Pluto) urges us to make goals, improve structures and solidify our values. Challenges could arise as we attempt to reach those goals, because this New Moon features a Cardinal Grand Cross. There are many players!

First, the New Moon conjuncts asteroid Hygiea and TNO Ixion in Capricorn. Hygiea’s presence suggests an opportunity for healing, and this healing potential gets amplified by Chiron stationing Direct in Aries. Hygiea is the daughter of Aesclepius, the Greek god of medicine. Chiron is a centaur who embodies the Wounded Healer archetype. He also teaches others how to heal. This New Moon offers a chance to cleanse old wounds and practice good energy hygiene. Brush off negative encounters–literally, sweep down each arm past your fingertips, then shake off the energy.

Ixion brings more complex energy to the conjunction. According to Alex’s Astrology, “Astrologically, Ixion represents ingratitude; the violation of social norms of conduct; being offered a second chance, only to waste it; betrayal; and murder, often prominent in the charts of murderers or homicides.” Ixion was the first murderer. When given a chance to change, Ixion doubled down and tried to betray Zeus. As punishment, “Zeus expelled Ixion from Olympus, ordering him bound to a fiery, rotating wheel in the heavens, where he was forced to eternally utter the phrase, ‘you should be grateful to your benefactor.’”

The combination of Hygiea and Ixion reminds us that gratitude forms an important component of healing. If you’ve messed up and receive a second chance, don’t waste it! Make the change. Give credit where credit’s due, and make sure you thank those who’ve helped you along the way.

Moving on to the Squares: this New Moon squares Jupiter at 0°15′ Aries, as well as Ceres, Osiris and Dionysus in 0-1° Libra. Those three oppose Jupiter in Aries while squaring Sun/Moon/Hygiea/Ixion in Capricorn. Jupiter just began a new cycle, having crossed the World Axis only three days prior. We call this a Cardinal T-square, and it puts tremendous tension on the Capricorn New Moon point.

Jupiter expands everything he touches, and he just crossed the World Axis. That indicates a collective component, even though Jupiter is in the sign of the individual. All the asteroids in Libra deal in some way with love, loss, death, and regeneration. Again, this ties into the Sabian Symbol of the New Moon: THREE ROSE WINDOWS IN A GOTHIC CHURCH, ONE DAMAGED BY WAR. A spiritual component creates friction, “war” or “death,” which lead to healing that arises from our loss.

For some reason, I keep seeing Robin Wood’s Five of Pentacles card:

It’s not an exact match, but it seems similar to me. In Tarot, the Five of Pentacles doesn’t feel good, but things aren’t as bad as they seem. The wounded man could go into the warmly lit church. He lost half his leg, but he remains standing. His staff allows him to walk. A bandage covers one eye, but he can still see through the other one. Even in the direst circumstances, gratitude summons and generates other possibilities. This card can also signify “lovers who cannot find a meeting place.” I’m seeing a lot of that right now, as the Universe appears to be orchestrating a bunch of new relationships–but not quite yet.

Completing a Cardinal Grand Cross, this New Moon in Capricorn exactly opposes Bienor in Cancer. Zane Stein shares this about Bienor:

On Amable’s blog, Transneptunian Astrology, there are some interesting observations about Bienor: “This Centaur is conected to the self-organization of elements in a chaotic system. That means sincronicity or unusual conections of destiny between people or objects, like in the movies “Serendipity” (2001), “Only You” (1994), “Final Destination” (Part 1, 2000; Part 2, 2003; Part 3, 2006; Part 4, 2009), at the end of the movie “What lies beneath” (2000), “Pay It Forward” (2000), “The Perfect Storm” (2000), “Intersection” (1994) and “Jaws” (1975).

Hmmmmm …. “Self organization of elements in a chaotic system.” Synchronicity! Despite potential for war, death and destruction, a Higher Order pervades this New Moon. The Bienor in Cancer point soothes some of the pain and suffering, turning discord into something aligned with the Highest Good of All. Watch for uncanny coincidences, dreams and dreamlike events in waking life. Healing is available.

I’ll leave you with Jeremiah 29:11, which also keeps running through my mind as I write this post: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

We’ve made it this far. We will move through this collective Near Death Experience and find healing and renewal. Watch for miracles. They can and do happen at any moment.

Dream: A Near Miss

I’m sharing this one because it feels collective rather than personal:

12/7/2022
“A Near Miss”

I dreamed more than I recall, but this part is vivid. I stood somewhere outside and saw two cars almost crash into each other. I didn’t know anyone in the vehicles, but watching the one almost barrel into the other still made me flinch and took awhile to shake off. The scene was one car coming way too fast from behind another car. If they hit, it would have been a total disaster, both cars destroyed.

The one car came so fast at the other car that this outcome seemed inevitable. I braced for impact, even though I was safe on the sidelines. Instead of hitting, somehow, the car from behind stopped with maybe 1 mm to spare, just as the front car moved forward. It took a few moments to realize that no fiery crash would occur. Not having the crash felt anticlimactic after all the stress of watching what seemed like a certain crash. When the crash did not occur, the anticipated jolt occurred inside myself.

I awoke briefly from this dream—enough to remember it—then fell back asleep. I don’t recall details, but I know I had two additional dreams with similar messages. I watched a scene that did not directly affect me, kind of like watching a movie, except more intense in that whatever I watched happened in “real” life (within the dream), and not too far away from me. In all cases, a crash or disaster seemed inevitable but at the last moment things moved just 1 mm out of the way.

Because of the tension while witnessing this seemingly inevitable crash, when it did not happen, my body still flinched at the moment of would-be impact. The near miss jolted me wide awake (within the dream). I looked around the world with new eyes.

END of dream journal.

This seems like a collective dream in that I had zero to do with anyone in any of the scenarios. I just happened to be standing or walking nearby. I just happened to see something about to smash. By every rational consideration, this crash would occur except at the very last moment, some kind of miracle protected the participants by literally 1 mm. The precision of timing looked like an invisible angel or divine providence moved the front car along just in time for the back car to avoid hitting it, even though the back car was careening out of control.

In many ways, this is like my life changing 1998 car accident. I was stopped at a red light behind two other cars. The light turned green, but it took those cars a little while to start moving. The woman behind me drove fast, saw the green light, and must have realized much too late that my car had not yet begun to move. Mine was in neutral, ready to start driving. I heard her slam on the brakes, heard the crash. “Wow, someone really GOT it!” I awoke to honking horns realizing that someone was me.

Her car dipped down under mine because she slammed on the brakes. My black rubber bumper was streaked on the hood of her car, so in my case, the crash occurred. The miracle was my car being in neutral and her brakes dipping under my bumper, throwing my car forward instead of totally squishing me. The resulting traumatic brain injury gave me four years of total disability and a totally new career and life.

This morning’s dream had a MUCH bigger miracle. Watching the events, there was NO way to avoid a massive crash, but something intervened at the very last possible moment. The anticipation and intensity of would be impact jolted me as a spectator even though the cars were fine. Again this feels collective rather than personal.

Quick Updates

I hope this post finds everyone cozy! All our snow melted, but we got over two feet in one storm. This year we’re going very simple with the holiday decorations– just a narrow tree and some faux amaryllis courtesy of Momma Jane.

Life continues for CPL (Crazy Plant Lady), as the indoor garden grows gangbusters:

CPL has also officially turned into CGL (Crazy Glasses Lady) with yet another set of frames. These are designated computer glasses, because my almost 50-year-old eyes like some extra clarity when looking at the big screen I got for when I dive more into novel writing in 2023. I already finished the January 2023 Forecast, and First Quarter North Node Horoscopes are halfway done. Fun times at Dra’Faven.

Happy almost Full Moon! It’s a powerful one.

Full Moon in Gemini ~ December 7-8, 2022

My December 2022 Forecast shared:

December 7 Full Moon in Gemini, 11:08 p.m. Eastern US time. This “Long Nights Moon” almost exactly conjuncts Mars in the 16th degree of Gemini. Rounding up to 17 Gemini, the Sabian Symbol for this conjunction is: THE HEAD OF A ROBUST YOUTH CHANGES INTO THAT OF A MATURE THINKER. Dane Rudhyar calls this “a process of MENTAL METAMORPHOSIS.” This Full Moon/Mars conjunction happens right between the US natal Descendant and the US natal Mars, meaning questions about relationships, war, and known enemies are “up” for the United States. With double Mars involvement, answers to these questions will demand decisive action.

Saturn in Aquarius loosely trines the Full Moon. The day prior, the Full Moon’s ruler–Mercury–enters Capricorn, which Saturn rules. This double whammy of Saturn energy adds to the “maturity” theme. The next month pushes us to grow up, especially in the mental realm. As new information arises, we can’t stomp our feet like children having a temper tantrum or youths spouting off. Instead, our minds will need to accommodate sober concepts and revelations.

Mars conjunct the Full Moon in Gemini suggests the idea of “information warriors” bringing worldview changing details to light. The Sabian Symbol adds to this Mars energy with a KEYNOTE: The transformation of physical vitality into the power to build concepts and intellectual formulations through which knowledge can be transferred. We will see increased fights to “control the narrative.” Such battles may include strategically tossed “grenades” that explode former talking points. Gemini rules early childhood education, so tensions between parents and School Boards could also increase at this time.

The Plutino Orcus squares the Gemini Full Moon from Virgo. Orcus energy is somewhat similar to Pluto, another God of the Underworld. Orcus wants to go deep and challenges our integrity, especially if we have taken oaths. This could apply to the Hippocratic Oath, military and police oaths, or the political Oath of Office. Anyone involved in these areas would be wise to reread any oaths you’ve taken and honestly assess if you’re doing what you swore to do. It could also include journalistic codes of ethics. Make course corrections before Orcus forces your hand, because “just following orders” won’t cut it. As information continues to spread worldwide, things could get interesting!

Asteroid Thereus also squares the Gemini Full Moon from Virgo. According to darkastrology.com:

In mythology Thereus was the bear-hunting centaur that dragged the poor creatures out of their dens, rudely carried them home very much alive and certainly with sore heads. Thereus experienced a big shift in orbit in 1924 due to [its] proximity to Saturn, Zane Stein observed at that time Lenin died, while Stalin had been waiting patiently in the wings. He called it “Lurking, then pouncing”[1].

[This lurking is] a little more subtle than utter stalking. With Thereus he is quietly observing his prey, trying to influence their thoughts, a voyeur, not physically doing anything to depose them. Thereus types wait patiently for years until they finally get their prize.

Thereus is patient, but a bit sinister, like a vulture wishing [its] dinner would just hurry up and die.

I think that means being in the right place at the right time, maybe this is someone who inadvertently benefits from the misfortunes of others. It’s not deliberate!, they just happened to be there when the lead singer fell of the stage and broke his leg, or when those plasma screens fell off the lorry… Still if you are always there.

Panning back on the world stage, we may wonder, “What’s really going on here? Are we being prepped for a big switcheroo?” If so, how can we benefit from the changing landscape? Individually, we can look for and follow clues to ensure we experience big shifts as upgrades rather than tragedies or trap doors. Remember, in astrology, squares create productive friction. The square from Thereus (lurker) in Virgo (patient analysis) triggers the Sun (light) in Sagittarius (truth), plus the Moon (emotions, intuition, security) and Mars (warrior) in Gemini (information, negotiations).

All of these issues are “up” during this Full Moon. Gemini, also known as “The Twins,” corresponds to the Lovers card in Tarot. Whatever the shift, we would be wise to intend, “If not this, then something better.”

In addition to Orcus and Thereus, the asteroid Aphidas also squares from Virgo. According to Zane Stein:

Ovid, writing in Metamorphosis about the chaos that occurred during the wedding of Pirithous, had this to say: “Aphidas was one of the Centaurs who attended the wedding of Pirithous, became drunk on wine and, following the lead of Eurytus, who assaulted Hippodame, began to assault and rape any women they could grab. He passed out drunk before the Centuromachy started but was seen by Pirthous who took advantage of the situation and threw a spear at him, piercing him through the neck and killing the Centaur in his sleep.”

Basically, Aphidas, exhausted from attacking and raping several women, and drunk from too much wine, passed out, and was killed in his sleep. His executioner, Pirithous, saw this as fit punishment for his crimes.

The meaning of the name Aphidas is not certain, but most likely meant, “Not sparing”, as even this centaur, fallen asleep, was not spared from death.

Taken together with Orcus and Thereus, the square from Aphidas suggests that whoever is “waiting in the wings” won’t spare rapists and murderers. This could be literal or metaphorical. It implies a kind of karmic retribution–consequences for whatever the Full Moon/Mars in Gemini “information warriors” reveal. On a personal note, we might feel this as a resolution of split intentions or points of indecision. Factoring in the Aphidas-type harshness can inspire decisive moves towards easier timelines.

In more poetic terms, Anais Nin said, “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Two more conjunctions to this Full Moon deserve mention. The Trans Neptunian Object Altjira sits at 17+ Gemini. Altjira is the Aboriginal God of Dreamtime. The presence of Altjira signals alternate realities, and our ability to cross into Dreamtime in order to find new timelines. The Gemini Full Moon also conjuncts another TNO named for the Namibian mythic character called G!kun||’homdima. Please don’t ask me how to pronounce that one! The language uses clicks and does not easily translate to English. But G!kun||’homdima is a female protector and defender. Her presence amplifies the Mars energy and suggests a defensive rather than aggressive quality to this Moon cycle.

Overall, we find a potent mixture of fighting for alternate realities, Big Dreams, and maturing into this larger concept of reality. Different facets of “mind” come into play. When we harness all that mental energy, we can direct it and create new worlds. The stakes are high, but the rewards become real.

For some reason, finishing this post popped this Bob Marley mashup into my head. I had never seen the video before, but it evokes some of the high strangeness, “twins,” tension and integration of this Gemini Full Moon:
