December 2021 Specials + Gift Certificates

DECEMBER 2021 SPECIALS

2022 Astro Preview

This is a brand new special I feel led to offer. A 75-minute Astrology Reading with in-depth focus on supportive and challenging transits for you in the coming year. We’ll look at opportunities to expand into your soul’s purpose for being here now. We can also explore good time windows for action, rest, healing, and/or creating.

Learning to work with the energies already in play — in your natal chart and in the sky — helps you to create more realistic strategies and expectations. When you know the flavor of challenges on the way, you can choose to experience them on a higher or symbolic level, rather than getting blindsided by so-called “fate.” This reading also supports people who already know their goals for next year but want to know which time windows work best for which purposes.

As always, I will tailor these readings to the individual. $222 for an hour and a quarter (fifteen minutes free) if prepaid on or before 12/31/2021. Please contact me to sign up.

$44 Tarot Special

Half-hour tarot reading at 20% off the usual rate. Tarot readings offer an energetic check-in, the chance to ask questions about pending decisions or intentions, and represent a fun, yet powerful way to gain perspective on relationships and challenges. They can also be used to offer a snapshots of themes and trajectories.

Tarot readings are particularly good for people who don’t know what kinds of questions to ask me; they just want some kind of guidance because they feel unsure of what’s coming or what to focus upon. Tarot also seems to benefit those people who have exceptionally good things coming their way, yet wonder if I might be “padding the reading” or “just saying what they want to hear.” The cards don’t lie. (Neither do I – but the cards seem an even more objective medium for delivering good news.)

Please contact me if you’d like to sign up for this special. $44 instead of the usual $55.55. Offer valid if prepaid on or before 12/31/2021.

You can also request this special as a gift for someone else.

Gift Certificates:

Each year, people ask if they can gift a session to a loved one. I like to offer a discount to honor the love and care behind this gift. Certificates purchased in 2021 will remain valid through December 31, 2022. Since people always ask me this: no, you may not purchase a gift certificate for yourself. You can, however, request someone else get you a gift certificate. When you contact me to order a gift certificate, please let me know the name of the person you’re gifting, as well as any details you’d like me to include on the certificate. I’ll create and email you a personalized PDF, which you can email or print out for your loved one.

2021 gift certificates cover any of my services at $99/half hour instead of the usual rate of $133/half hour.

December 2021 Forecast and Fourth Quarter North Node Horoscopes

December brings a sober, deep and soulful finish to a long, strange year. Highlights include:

December 1 Neptune stations Direct at 8:22 a.m. Eastern. The planet of dreams, inspiration, confusion, illusion, delusion, addictions and all things nebulous turned retrograde on June 25, 2021. In the past five months, what have you sensed or released in these areas? Neptune’s hard to nail down, so pay attention to vague feelings and intuitive nudges. Collectively, we may find that humanity placed its faith in the wrong people or got sucked into a mass hypnosis spin cycle. It happens. Grief and remorse make way for compassion and a Higher Power. When situations seem too big for you to control, lean into the Serenity Prayer. Neptune remains direct until June 28, 2022. Use this time for dreamwork, meditation, art, music, poetry and collective healing.

December 4 New Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, 2:43 a.m. Eastern. This New Moon Solar Eclipse could bring dark history to light. Even fortunate new beginnings exact a cost and demand retribution. An extremely karmic eclipse that can trigger optimism, while also bringing accountability.

December 11 Venus conjunct Pluto. This is round one of three, due to the rare Venus retrograde in Capricorn that begins later this month. Issues of love, money, power, intimacy and sex vie for our attention. This first touch could feel irresistible, shattering earlier foundations. Resistance is probably futile, but don’t rush. Whatever is meant to be will reveal itself in due time. Breathe. Pay attention to dreams and unusual coincidences leading up to this day. Even if you never record your dreams, you’d be wise to do so from December 2021 through February 2022.

December 13 Mars enters Sagittarius, and Mercury enters Capricorn. (Depending on your timezone, these transits could happen on the 14th.) For six weeks, action oriented Mars moves through expansive Sagittarius. Bigger, bolder, broader! A tendency to go overboard will be tempered by the understanding of Mercury in sober, thorough Capricorn. This combo supports practical action on a large scale. Detailed research bolsters faith and our ability to “walk the talk.”

December 18 Full Moon in Gemini, 11:36 p.m. Eastern. This “Long Nights Moon” occurs in late Gemini, just hours before Venus stations retrograde. The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon degree emphasizes liberation from the past: THROUGH BANKRUPTCY, SOCIETY GIVES TO AN OVERBURDENED INDIVIDUAL THE OPPORTUNITY TO BEGIN AGAIN. In other words, this final Full Moon of 2021 could feel like a much bigger release than usual. A Cosmic Jubilee.

December 19 Venus stations retrograde in Capricorn and Chiron stations direct in Aries. The Love Goddess will remain retrograde until January 29, 2022. Her journey here affects committed relationships, including business relationships. This initiates a good time to review and re-evaluate success, values and how aesthetics influence your bottom line. Chiron represents both the Wound and the Wounded Healer. With both Chiron and Venus shifting direction on the same day, we can expect extra insights about hurtful relationships and their effects on self-esteem. How can you bring more love to your deepest wounds?

December 21 Sun enters Capricorn, Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. The Sun joins Mercury, Venus and Pluto in the sign of leadership, authority, structures, tradition and the patriarchy. Recognize the value of old things by seeing them in a new light.

December 24 Saturn square Uranus. The third exact square this year between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. From February 17, to June 14, to Christmas Eve, you can follow the growing intensity of this worldwide friction between tradition and innovation, top down authority and rebellion, restriction and liberation. This date also marks the shift of the Mean (average) North Node from Gemini to Taurus. I use the True North Node for readings, because I find it a very sensitive spot. While the True North Node doesn’t switch signs until mid-January, we may feel a collective preview of things moving from the realm of ideas (Gemini) into tangible, real world form (Taurus).

December 25 Venus conjunct Pluto. On her rare retrograde journey, Venus conjuncts Pluto for the second time this month. Whatever got triggered on December 11 will deepen its subconscious effects. Intimacy issues may reveal themselves more easily through dreams, signs and symbols, rather than direct communication. The Christmas holiday brings intense energies this year. Practice good energy hygiene (energy brush off’s) and remember the Power of Love.

December 28 Jupiter enters Pisces. The largest planet will grace one of his home signs until May 10, 2022. Faith, optimism and generosity return. Dream big! Ease, relaxation, and expansion increase our ability to trust.

December 30 Mercury conjunct Pluto. Understanding deepens, especially regarding hidden or shameful secrets. We can process difficult information and shift from victim mentality to an empowered and determined mindset. When old ideas crumble, look for buried treasures in the rubble. A good day for deep conversations. You’ll find extra clarity for evaluating the past year and making soul-based New Year’s Resolutions. You’ll better strategize for success if your conscious mind acknowledges and respects subconscious needs.

How December’s sky weather affects you will vary, depending on your entire natal chart, but your North Node Horoscope transcends monthly sky events. That’s because your North Node reveals what your soul came here to do. By midlife, the soul starts longing and pressing us to live our true purpose. At first, it whispers through intuition. Then it knocks a little louder through “coincidences” and external events. When not heard and honored, the soul’s longing can show up as health crises, marriage or work issues, or wondering “is this all there is?” If you feel a need to reinvent yourself, following North Node guidance helps you do that authentically — for you.

Unlike generic Sun Sign horoscopes, which ignore so many other aspects, following North Node guidance will always lead you in the right direction. Doors open, healing happens, relationships improve, and life gets more magical. This monthly column will help you tap into your personal North Node Mojo. When you start living your North Node purpose, we all win, because you not only begin to light up your own life. You light up the world.           – Laura

FOURTH QUARTER 2021 NORTH NODE HOROSCOPES

ARIES NORTH NODE: October’s New and Full Moons activate your Aries North Node and Libra South Node axis. Mars — your North Node sign’s ruler — in the opposite sign of Libra for most of October increases the need for integration. Old and new, co-dependent and independent: you’ll need to combine the best of your innate skills and tendencies with what your soul came here to do. When in doubt, take action. Small steps lead to big adventures. Don’t worry about partnership. You’ll find companions on the road. November and December bring squares to your nodal axis, as Venus, Mercury and eventually the Sun join Pluto in Capricorn. Squares trigger productive friction, like the grain of sand that makes an oyster create a pearl. Pay attention to relationship stresses. Irritation signals imbalance. With a small change in attitude, frustration can become determination. Get comfortable with fiery emotions. You can use these to launch desires. Notice uncanny coincidences opening or closing doors. When fear holds you back, nodal axis squares will push you forward. Learn to recognize when you need to stand on your own two feet. Courage comes as you gain experience. Keep going. You’ll like how this story ends.

TAURUS NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 brings challenging and empowering energies to Taurus North Node natives. Your Scorpio South Node knows how to face fear and power struggles, but you’re meant to enjoy the finer things of life. It’s not about doom and gloom, fiery ends, and drama. Stop and smell the roses. Really. Slow down and take your time. The intense square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus continues to create friction all quarter with a finale on Christmas Eve. This energy affects the entire world trying to re-balance questions of empowerment vs. slavery, top-down authority vs. grassroots liberation and innovation. As this unfolds around you, allow yourself the time and space to get grounded. Change is inevitable. It will happen whether or not you dive into the fray. Pay attention to your body as an accurate barometer of what to do — and how and when to do it. Release the fear of missing out. It’s OK to stay home and putter under the radar. November 19 or 20 (depending on your timezone) brings a Full Moon in Taurus, Partial Lunar Eclipse. Use this time to honor whatever most serves you, your body and your values. December offers extra empowerment, so get clear on what makes you feel comfortable, secure and well-nourished. Then ask for more, please!

GEMINI NORTH NODE: This is the last Full Quarter of the True North Node’s transit through Gemini. Get curious and embrace paradox. It’s time to gather the blessings of collective energies in your destiny sign. December 18 features a Full Moon in Gemini. Pay extra attention to signs and synchronicities. In January 2022, the True North Node moves into Taurus, triggering a slower, Earthy cycle. Let your mind wander and wonder before things settle down next year. Which themes dominated your life 18-20 years ago? Who and how are you now? “God is in the details,” so don’t discount small victories and adjustments. How have you changed since the North Node entered your sign in May 2020? What mind-blowing information did you find? What dogma did you forgo? Which old patterns and relationships did you learn from and release? You deserve some fun after all that hard work. Declare yourself a new holiday to celebrate. Who cares if it seems silly?! It’s OK to mix things up a bit. Combine traditions, start your own. You don’t need to do this every year, and you don’t need to do it “right.” You don’t even need to do it at all. Having a Gemini North Node means you always have options. December 18 or 19 (depending on your timezone) brings the Full Moon in Gemini. This is a good time to release anything that no longer serves.

CANCER NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 ups the intensity for Cancer North Node natives. Supportive Water energy trines from planets in Scorpio and Pisces, while planets in Capricorn sort through whatever you need to release from your past. Relationships and self-esteem are “up.” In which ways do you tend to over-manage or over-control? Liberator Uranus continues his beneficial sextile from Taurus, so you’ve got extra impetus to change. The Moon rules your North Node sign, and you’re more sensitive than most to the Moon’s phases. Pay attention to Waxing (increasing) and Waning (decreasing) energies. Moving in cycles can ease resistance. The October New and Full Moons create friction from Libra and Aries. Irritation can fuel desire. If you feel exasperated or world weary, ask what your frustration tells you that you do want. Soften the urge to control, and welcome more nurturing, gentle energies. November’s New and Full Moons offer easier energies for you from Scorpio and Taurus. The month of December could bring up old lovers or force you to release attachments that no longer serve. Commitments, business, and financial decisions will need to reflect evolving values.

LEO NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter presents challenges from planets in Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus, but support from those in Aries, Gemini, Libra and Sagittarius. You’ll do better focusing on relationships than finances. The money will come, but current energies suggest more attention to your heart than your head. Spend time with people and activities that make your heart sing. December’s New and Full Moons will give you insight into larger projects and sharing. Don’t worry if some projects aren’t moving forward as fast as you’d like. The ongoing Saturn square Uranus energies create T-squares and even some Grand Crosses with your nodal axis and planets moving through Scorpio. Trust the Universe to work things out in proper time and place. The cosmic orchestra’s playing your song, even if you can’t hear the music. A lot of delicate readjustments take place from October thru December. You might want to rebel and kick out the jambs, but the King of the Jungle knows when to hunt and when to rest. If things aren’t moving at your desired pace, dive into a creative distraction. You’ll have something to show for this time, and the results could make you proud. Take an internet break, go outside, and get your blood moving. Exercise gets you out of your head and back in touch with your heart.

VIRGO NORTH NODE: You benefit from harmonious planetary transits in Taurus, Scorpio and Capricorn. This quarter could bring a dramatic end to old patterns that really need to go. “If not this, then something better.” Make a list of preferred upgrades in your life and consider implementing them as energies support positive shifts. Your preferences matter, and paying attention to these helps you recognize better opportunities. It’s easier to upgrade than quit addictions cold turkey. Going into the holiday season might tempt you to dial back the discipline, but you’ll get so much more from this time if you stick to your healthy routines. If you don’t have healthy routines, then that’s your first step. Keep your to do list handy and refer to it throughout the day. You’ll get more done if you start early. Your Pisces South Node likes to procrastinate, but your soul longs to check off accomplishments. Motivation breeds more motivation. When you show up, you build energy and momentum to keep showing up. December invites you to reconsider values, business decisions, and relationships. Which ones stimulate your mind? Which ones make day to day life feel grounded and productive? Each moment brings a choice point. Practice choosing, again and again. Little choices create the bigger picture. Your sweeping visions need regular tending through real world tasks.

LIBRA NORTH NODE: October is your month! With the Sun and Mars in Libra for most of October, your North Node receives light, willpower and drive. Pay attention to what seem like destiny level opportunities to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects. Life rearranges itself to get you back on track — or further along if you’re already moving in the right direction. November and December bring squares to your nodal axis, as Venus, Mercury and eventually the Sun join Pluto in Capricorn. Squares trigger productive friction, like the grain of sand that makes an oyster create a pearl. If things feel impossible to do alone, ask someone for help. When two or more join forces and pull in the same direction, work flows easier. Your South Node old ways encouraged you to go lone wolf, but your soul longs to partner with other souls. If your love life isn’t what you’d hoped for, Fourth Quarter urges you to explore relationship patterns, blocks, hopes and dreams. What role do beauty, harmony and balance play in your life? How could you bring more of these into day to day activities? This is a good quarter to shift your appearance. If you’ve thought about changing your hairdo, nourishing your skin, or changing your wardrobe, go for it. If you have trouble losing weight, find an exercise buddy or join an online yoga community. Accountability and camaraderie will increase motivation.

SCORPIO NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 is Scorpio Season! These three months bring direct activations with all the planets moving through Scorpio, but also some gentle support from planets in Capricorn. Transition seasons like Spring and Fall offer energies that support clearing out in preparation for renewal. If you feel the urge to purge, follow those instincts. You’ll make space for something deeper, more soulful and regenerating to take its place. November 4 or 5 (depending on your timezone) gives a powerful reset with the New Moon in Scorpio. November 19 features a Full Moon in Taurus Lunar Eclipse, putting the Moon in your South Node sign and the Sun in your North Node sign. Even partial eclipses amplify lunar energies. Use this one to gain clarity about old relationships, habits, and patterns you would do well to release. It’s often easier to upgrade than to quit addictions. Pray for guidance. The things you fear releasing might better serve you in a slightly altered form. Not all changes occur at once. A caterpillar goes into cocoon phase before it becomes a butterfly. Even when the butterfly leaves the cocoon, it needs to wait for its wings to dry. Careful, tender and gentle attention are appropriate right now. Background energies support necessary shifts in perfect timing. Not too fast, not too slow — just right.

SAGITTARIUS NORTH NODE: Since May 2020, you’ve lived 180° from collective energies, with the transiting True North Node in your South Node sign, and the transiting South Node in your North Node sign. This is the last Full Quarter where things will feel so inverted. It’s always important to march to the beat of your own drum, but especially so from May 2020 through mid-January 2022. This transit worked as a cosmic, karmic clean-up crew, clearing away debris for a more efficient journey. Which distractions, habits, or relationships fell away? How have you refined your education, spirituality and philosophy of life? How have you honed your intuition? Which literal or metaphorical places have you moved beyond? December 3 or 4 (depending on your timezone) features a New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. Pay special attention to insights in and around the eclipse, and take time to integrate. Beware of information overload in Fourth Quarter 2021. Periodic silent retreats might become necessary. If so, don’t apologize. Recharging allows you to walk your talk. Consider a social media or news fast if you can’t do a full silent retreat. Unplugging even for a little while will expand your horizons and your heart.

CAPRICORN NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 brings supportive energy and North Node activations from all the planets moving through Scorpio and Capricorn. Relationships, values and financial shifts intensify in late October through the rest of the year. Intense doesn’t necessarily mean “bad,” but people and events will touch you to the depths of your soul. This theme grows even stronger in December, as transiting Venus makes a rare retrograde through your North Node sign. Venus stations retrograde in Capricorn on the 19th, followed by the Sun entering Capricorn on the 21st. Because of the retrograde activity, the Love Goddess conjuncts Pluto twice in December — on the 11th and then again on Christmas. This extra deep and intimate activity by Venus will affect the entire collective. For Cappy North Node natives, the long Venus transit offers destiny level shifts in relationships, finances, beauty and self-esteem. This is also a good quarter to review your 2021 and your goals for next year. On December 30, Mercury conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. Pay attention to intuitive insights and opportunities for transmutation. Capricorn’s a grounded Earth sign. You can “manage” reality by guiding powerful ideas into form and structure in the visible realm.

AQUARIUS NORTH NODE: With Saturn and then Jupiter moving forward again in October, Aquarius North Node natives will sense an end to some of the gridlock. Exactly how and when this inner shift occurs depends on the degree of your North Node, but Aquarian’s are more linked into group consciousness than they realize. What affects one affects us all — on some level. Ponder that connection and the different ways it could play out. It’s not always “my way or the highway.” Sometimes you feel like a cosmic weirdo, and that’s OK. Local community would be nice, but it doesn’t come by forcing people to see things your way. If you feel isolated, ask, “What can I do to facilitate the highest good of all?” Trust the answer, even if it says to stay home and meditate. Your mind is powerful! Fourth Quarter will present challenges from planets in Scorpio and Taurus, but support from those in Gemini and Libra. Keep your cool. Everything’s moving into alignment. Looking back to Winter Solstice 2020 (Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere), how has your perspective changed? Which things are worth fighting for, and at which battles have you declared a truce? What do “human evolution” and “liberation” have in common?

PISCES NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 might feel a bit blurred around the edges. If so, no worries. Sharp lines and clear judgments are overrated. Water and Earth energies move around and through you like changing tides on an ocean shore. If you get stressed out, come back to the breath — in and out, then in and out. You carry this instant reset with you whatever happens and wherever you go. As they say, “Worry is like praying for something you don’t want.” Focus on beauty, harmony and unconditional compassion, including for yourself. With the energies from Scorpio trining Pisces, deep feelings arise. Neptune continues his sojourn in home sign Pisces, and co-Ruler Jupiter returns on December 28. Your faith returns, honed and strengthened. Relationships deepen. This might occur on psychic, dream and spiritual levels where you feel connections without tangible proof. Try not to over-analyze. There is much more to this world than meets the eye or the Virgo South Node. Your feelings are valid, but they might not mean what you think they mean. Open yourself to wider possibilities. You’ll find better guidance from signs and synchronicities than logic. Prayer and meditation are practical actions for Pisces North Node natives.

Fire Cider Cold and Flu Remedy, by Rosemary Gladstar

Seems like a good time of year to reblog this post from 2014. People always ask what David and I do to keep our immune systems in good shape.

I haven’t done the herbal fire cider remedy in awhile, but we still keep oil of oregano on hand for sniffing, steam inhalation or occasional internal use if we feel anything coming on. We take Vitamin D (5000 or more iu’s) and Stamets 7 medicinal mushroom blend daily. We keep up our Vitamin C, and I often add Four Sigmatic’s “Defend” medicinal mushrooms to a reishi-cacao hot chocolate I make with macadamia nut milk and vanilla stevia. I also drink one cup of medicinal mushroom coffee each morning. I use a couple different blends, depending on what seems right on any given day.

We love miso soup as an immune booster, and we take elderberry extract if we sense we’ve gotten exposed to something. We like that medicinal mushrooms are adaptogens, so they support whatever needs support on any given day. I can tend towards the autoimmune side of things, so for me, balance is key. Nourishing our whole body, mind, soul and spirit results in better immunity and a happier life!

Laura Bruno's Blog

Our friend, Martha, posted this video on Facebook and David shared it with me. It combines a lot of things I’ve learned from various people along the way, including what the herbalist I apprenticed with in Seattle called “the triumvirate of herbs: garlic, onion and ginger.”

I also made a truly yummy antibiotic this summer when I had that cracked, infected tooth: apple cider vinegar, raw honey and many, many cloves of garlic. It turned out to be a terrible remedy for an infected tooth, due to the acid-sweet combo, but it certainly clears up any cold or other illness that wants to hitch a ride. (My teeth all healed, btw, through major energetic work that blasted the lurkers in there, but that’s another story.)

In addition, we keep oil of oregano on hand for sniffing, inhaling from a pot of steam, or taking internally in the event…

Full Moon in Taurus, Lunar Eclipse ~ November 19, 2021

My November 2021 Forecast noted:

November 19 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, 3:47 a.m. Eastern. We begin eclipse season with a Full Moon in late Taurus. The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is “A WOMAN, PAST HER CHANGE OF LIFE, EXPERIENCES A NEW LOVE.” These energies put strong emphasis on new beginnings that arise from a place of maturity. Pluto trining from Capricorn offers extra determination and empowerment.

Dane Rudhyar’s full Sabian Symbol description seems worth pondering:

PHASE 58 (TAURUS 28°): A WOMAN, PAST HER “CHANGE OF LIFE,” EXPERIENCES A NEW LOVE.

KEYNOTE: Man’s capacity to rise in consciousness and feelings above biological limitations.

After having stated the youthful and the aged approach of the human individual to the use of what his culture has brought to him, the symbolism stresses man’s capacity to rise above the limitations which both biological nature and the “normal” social pattern of behavior have tried to impose on him. As in many of the preceding symbols, a “woman” is pictured, because at this early stage of the cyclic process the individual consciousness still has a receptive or “feminine” polarity — as was indicated in the very first symbol of the entire cycle (Aries 1°).

Whenever this third stage of the twelfth sequence is brought to a person’s consciousness, the indication is that he or she should freely open his or her mind to the possibility of always new REBEGINNINGS. Ideally, the new beginning should imply a more mature response to the new possibility of experience.

Following the powerful New Moon in Scorpio, this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus reminds us to look for and cultivate new blessings, even as circumstances, vitality and relationships fall away.

Eclipse effects last six months, so this seems like a prelude to the first exact Pluto Return of the United States. For six years, we’ve dealt with a symbolic “peri-menopausal” time of change, as transiting Pluto approaches the Pluto point in the US natal chart from 7/4/1776. In symbolic terms, the US has endured dry spells, spotting, missed periods, heavy bleeding, fiery hot flashes, depression, rage, irrational fears, fatigue, brain fog, and severe hormonal imbalance. As with a personal peri-menopause, these shifts affect those around us, too. In this case, the entire world. We’ve experienced unpredictable changes to formerly regular cycles: but it hasn’t yet been a year since our last period.

The technical definition of “menopause” is when a full year has passed since the last period. Peri-menopause — the time leading up to this “change of life” — can last for years, sometimes over a decade. Again, the Sabian Symbol of this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is A WOMAN, PAST HER “CHANGE OF LIFE,” EXPERIENCES A NEW LOVE. The process of peri-menopause tracks with a Pluto transit: a long, slow destruction that leads to new life. Menopause shifts the creative process from physical womb to a fully engaged rebirth. Instead of losing blood each month, all that energy can now create on other levels.

Along with death and the destruction of that which no longer serves, Pluto also brings rebirth.

So pay attention! This November 19, 2021 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in late Taurus offers a preview of when the US Pluto Return goes exact on February 20, July 11, and December 28, 2022: a barren Crone finds new love.

As we watch the old world fall away, even the sky reminds us to prepare our hearts for something wonderful and new. Adding to the Plutonian signature of this eclipse, Pluto trines the Moon from Capricorn, the sign of tradition and “old structures and authority.” We can grieve how life has changed, but rebeginnings abound. Soften to receive what inevitable destruction has revealed.

In addition to trining the US Pluto Return point (exact within minutes), this eclipse also exactly quincunxes the Galactic Center — another mystical trigger for love and rebirth. Not just any old love and rebirth: this love and rebirth is galactic, central and primordial.

Garden Update: Indoor and Outdoor Abundance and Beauty

Happy 11/11 and Happy Veteran’s Day to all who served!

I haven’t given a Fall Garden Update in awhile, and today’s colors are too pretty to keep to myself. From the front yard of edibles mixed with ornamentals:

From the backyard, including some of today’s harvest from the Garden Tower 2:

From the newly expanded indoor garden:

On the weekend, I mentioned foundational shifts. In addition to switching the locations of two portal doors, I moved my old desk behind a painted chest, so that I could add trays of spinach, lettuce, cilantro, parsley and chives along our large South facing window. I love my new L-shaped desk and new extra ergonomic office chair, but I really love having this extra growing space. We don’t have window sills, so this fills a formerly unavailable planting niche.

I’m also pleased that you can barely see the edible additions from our entryway. Except for the reflection in the window, it just looks like a bunch of houseplants:

The additional planting space brings the outdoor garden in. When David first saw what I had done, he said, “You’re going all Frank Lloyd Wright on me!”

I started the little sprouts outside, many weeks ago. Because of the cold temperatures, they grew very slowly — but just the right size for transplanting once I decided to grow inside. Here’s hoping they get enough light to give fresh herbs and greens all winter!

Yantra, Cindy Lou and Metamorphosis Dream

I had another dream about Cindy Lou Who, a symbol, and metamorphosis. Thought I’d repost this January 2021 dream since so many people resonated with it. Perhaps whatever occurred on January 16 is coming to fruition soon. Or maybe I just dream of Whoville sometimes.

Laura Bruno's Blog

I’m posting two dreams, because they seem like what I call Big Dreams — not just personal messages. I’ve spent the morning looking for and inquiring about the symbol that appeared, and no one knows what it is. David says he feels like he’s seen it somewhere before, but it’s not any of the more usual yantras.

1/16/2021
“Yantra, Cindy Lou, and Metamorphosis”

Awoke in the middle of the night with a sudden, shocking realization that something had just been done under cover of night. It seemed like a big, consequential thing for the US, but I don’t know what it was. It felt shocking, unbelievable — not good or bad, per se, but an event that triggers the rest of history.

No idea what time it was. I was on the BioMat but awoke quite suddenly with this shocked knowing. When I got up later it was almost 4…

This portal door just reactivated, as a change of curtains prompted switching the Four of Wands with the Ten of Cups door. The curtain shifts make the portal switch SO obvious to do right now.

This comes amidst many foundational upgrades and shifts, following dreams that moved a LOT of energy. Things are on the move!

On Halloween, I primed three new mini portals — two commissioned and one that I vision-downloaded almost a year ago. I don’t control the timing of any of these portal doors, but the next three seem intertwined. I feel the process will unfold like a Celtic Triskele.

Meanwhile, the Four of Wands and Ten of Cups reactivated with the move. Anytime I move the location of these doors, other things shift, too. This original blog post includes a before image of the painted door. When something looks ugly, we always have the option to beautify and heal.

Happy Easter! I haven’t actually finished Door Number 4, but the front is done, so I thought I’d post before the holiday. This one features a version of the Rider-Waite Tarot card for the Four of Wands.

Four of Wands, aka “Karuna” door front by Laura Bruno

The Sanskrit spells out “Karuna,” which means “compassion” or “the end of all suffering.” My inspiration to include Karuna with this door was two-fold:

I went to a Good Friday service at the University of Chicago’s Rockefeller Chapel and felt drawn to go to the left side of the lying down Christ figurine. I’d been thinking of the Holy Grail all week, while wearing a moldavite pendant and saw at the service that the Christ was holding a chalice, which I had already planned for the lower panel. The word “Karuna” just popped into my head as a Sanskrit visual for the…

New Moon in Scorpio ~ November 4, 2021

My November 2021 Forecast noted:

November 4 New Moon in Scorpio, 5:15 p.m. Eastern. This New Moon almost exactly opposes Uranus in Taurus. The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon point is: “AN INVENTOR PERFORMS A LABORATORY EXPERIMENT.” Along with rebellion and revolution, Uranus rules innovation, so this focus on “inventor” and “experiment” amplifies the Uranian flavor, while also fighting against it. Expect the unexpected, and prepare to enter a new, deeper phase.

Dane Rudhyar said, “Astrology is a language. If you understand this language, the sky speaks to you.” I do NOT want this post to turn into a political argument, but this is such a perfect example of “As Above, So Below.” There are times when astrology blows my mind, and this is one of them.

Wherever you stand regarding the experimental COVID shots and vaccine mandates, you can’t deny that this issue is “up” right now — pretty much all over the world. The Sabian Symbol for the 13 Scorpio New Moon point is “AN INVENTOR PERFORMS A LABORATORY EXPERIMENT,” and one of the concluding phrases associated with the 13 Taurus Uranus opposition point is: “COMPULSION FOR GAIN.” No jab, no job!? You can read the rest of the Sabian Symbol descriptions at the above links, but these jumped out at me.

Uranus regards “compulsion” as the ultimate challenge. A battle cry for liberation. It appears that the current issue tearing apart families and friends — and causing many people to leave their known livelihood rather than accept forced experimental injections — has arrived “right on time.” Human evolution requires us to dive deep into those Scorpio waters — exploring the Shadow, shame, hidden and occult power structures, death, destruction, regeneration, and questions of “Power To vs. Power Over.” Uranus adds a revolutionary spark (or lightning strike) to the churning maelstrom.

Fortunately, we have some mitigating factors. Asteroid Minerva tightly conjuncts the New Moon point. Minerva is the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Athena — a goddess of wisdom, strategy, justice, law, the arts, trades, and defensive warfare.

Unlike Mars, Minerva does not initiate war. This seems important. Although she doesn’t start wars, she fights hard and smart when challenged or in the face of injustice. Mars is in the mix, loosely conjunct the New Moon, but Minerva very closely conjuncts this point. Her wise influence tempers the sometimes volatile Mars/Uranus opposition. Minerva ties into stories of Arachne, Medusa and Pegasus. She herself is symbolized by an owl.

In another marker of defense, Asteroid Hidalgo conjuncts the New Moon point. Zane Stein features a long write-up of the mythology and history of Hidalgo. At the end, he posits the astrological meaning:

Hidalgo appears to signify self-defense, self-assertion, the need to prove to others that one is right, to stand up for one’s principles, to prove that one is just as good as one’s parents were, to prove to one’s parents that one is worthwhile, to take a risk because the possible rewards promise to increase one’s self-respect or respect one gets from others, to take an action without regard to the consequences, and possibly to heroism.

In closing I’d like to leave you with a few thoughts. Since Hidalgo goes almost to Mars and out past Saturn, it is a link of some kind between Mars and Chiron. A friend has suggested that Hidalgo might be one of the solar system’s ‘anti-bodies’, defending what one IS.

In context of the debates about natural immunity vs. Antibody Dependent Enhancement, Hidalgo’s appearance also seems “right on time.” Even if you’ve managed to sidestep this particular battle, consider other areas in which you feel called to live in more authentic ways. Who are you? How do your choices reflect and protect your innermost truth?

Another encouraging aspect of this New Moon in Scorpio is the conjunction of Mbabamwanawaresa with the New Moon point. According the http://transneptunian-astrology.blogspot.com :

“Mbaba Mwana Waresa is a Zulu goddess of rain, agriculture, and the harvest. She is the goddess of rainbows, a symbol of the link between heaven and Earth. She is particularly revered for teaching the people of Southern Africa the art of making beer (Umqombothi).” (MPC 123452)

Mbaba Mwana Waresa lived in the sky, on a cloud in a house adorned with rainbows. While she was blessing the earth for a lot of rain, she played the bongo [African drum], the sound of which came in the form of distant thunders. She was the daughter of Umvelinqangi, god of heaven and the inner light of creation.

The emotional awareness of the object Mbabamwanawaresa is oriented towards the complexity of the personality, which is based on a wide variety of nuances, which alternate with each other as circumstances require.

The object Mbabamwanawaresa has the ability to constantly perceive details of another person’s personality, until an unexpected change occurs in the conception about that person.

A rainbow goddess whose shapeshifting ability helps people to comprehend nuances. I love it!

In a time of extreme projection and vitriol, we can all benefit from a closer connection between heaven and Earth. Life and love are bigger than soundbites. Miracles occur more often than people notice them. Sometimes they arrive through groups or people we least expect. Open yourself to silver linings and a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”
