Happy Halloween!

November 2021 Forecast and Fourth Quarter North Node Horoscopes

NOVEMBER 2021 FORECAST

November 2021 brings lots of Scorpio energy, which we’ll feel even more intensely due to oppositions with Uranus and a Full Moon in Taurus, and Squares to Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius. Scorpio both flees from and craves intimacy and truth. The pull toward these is strong, but it requires courage to face the scary and shameful things we prefer to keep hidden — even from ourselves. In its lower manifestation, Scorpio fuels jealousy, envy, greed, shame, and secrecy. Passions of all sorts smolder. In its higher expression, Scorpio offers healing and rebirth, powerful psychic knowing, and the ability to rise like a phoenix from the ashes. When betrayed or abused, Scorpio demands revenge: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Beware the Scorpion’s sting.

November is a deeply powerful month, with Scorpio sextiles to Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto in the mix adds to the intensity, depth and intimacy, because Pluto rules Scorpio. If you’ve longed for transformation, November brings massive energies to assist. Alchemical transmutation is not only possible. It’s on the Cosmic Calendar. Highlights include:

November 4 New Moon in Scorpio, 5:15 p.m. Eastern. This New Moon almost exactly opposes Uranus in Taurus. The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon point is: “AN INVENTOR PERFORMS A LABORATORY EXPERIMENT.” Along with rebellion and revolution, Uranus rules innovation, so this focus on “invention” and “experiment” amplifies the Uranian flavor, while also fighting against it. Expect the unexpected, and prepare to enter a new, deeper phase.

November 5 Mercury enters Scorpio, and Venus enters Capricorn. The Messenger and the Goddess of Love and Money form a harmonious sextile in Water and Earth. Mercury in Scorpio dives into deep research, explaining hidden things and revealing power and regeneration through words. Venus will spend over four months in Capricorn due to a rare retrograde period in December and January. Venus in Capricorn values commitment, but she wants to feel certain first. Her crisscrossing through Capricorn brings extra attention to love, money, marriage, and traditional values. She wants form and function. How can existing structures become more beautiful and harmonious? How do our financial and relationship decisions reflect our self-esteem?

November 10 Mercury conjunct Mars in Scorpio, square Saturn in Aquarius. An intense day! The Messenger and The Warrior unite in passion, depth, destruction and rebirth. Whatever arises from this meeting creates friction with totalitarian ideologies and restrictions. New understanding emerges from a power struggle between individuals and social or governmental structures. Given the information you have now, which group(s) do you support? At which points do you need freedom to go your own way? What do “tolerance” and “liberty” mean to you?

November 17 Mars opposite Uranus in Taurus. Summon the will and drive to free yourself from old restrictions and expectations. With a small shift — from reckless anger to steely determination — chaotic energies can work to your benefit.

November 19 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, 3:47 a.m. Eastern. We begin eclipse season with a Full Moon in late Taurus. The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is “A WOMAN, PAST HER CHANGE OF LIFE, EXPERIENCES A NEW LOVE.” These energies put strong emphasis on new beginnings that arise from a place of maturity. Pluto trining from Capricorn offers extra determination and empowerment.

November 21 Sun enters Sagittarius. After shining light in the depths of Scorpio, the Sun breaks out in positivity, optimism and growth. It feels easier to have faith even after seeing dark and scary things. We feel the call of Higher Truth, and our intuition and inner knowing light up.

November 23 Sun conjunct South Node in Sagittarius. Light shines on collective karma, especially the consequences of over-confidence and fundamentalism. Emphasis on completion, finishing things up. Our collective faith will be tested, but also strengthened.

November 24 Mercury enters Sagittarius. The depth and darkness of Scorpio becomes a teacher in Sagittarius. Inspired by a bigger picture, we’re able to understand and explain broad concepts. We talk about old patterns, unify differences, and move beyond restrictions. We can do this without holding a grudge. Let bygones be bygones. The next adventure awaits, and the best is yet to come.

November 29 Mars trine Neptune, and Sun conjunct Mercury. Mars trine Neptune fortifies the Spiritual Warrior and offers a chance to bring dreams into reality. Sun conjunct Mercury this same day, gives clear communication and negotiations. If you’ve been fighting for justice, consider opportunities to surrender into a win-win scenario. Don’t gloss over details. Confirm understanding from all sides, but know that peace is possible.

November 30 Sun trine Chiron. This intense month ends on a healing note. Light shines on old wounds and this new clarity offers a chance for the Wounded to become the Wounded Healer. What have you learned from your trials and tribulations? How have your deepest challenges made you a stronger and more compassionate person? What wisdom have you gained through battle scars and heartbreak? “Grace is a power that comes in and transforms a moment to something better.” ~Caroline Myss

How November’s sky weather affects you will vary, depending on your entire natal chart, but your North Node Horoscope transcends monthly sky events. That’s because your North Node reveals what your soul came here to do. By midlife, the soul starts longing and pressing us to live our true purpose. At first, it whispers through intuition. Then it knocks a little louder through “coincidences” and external events. When not heard and honored, the soul’s longing can show up as health crises, marriage or work issues, or wondering “is this all there is?” If you feel a need to reinvent yourself, following North Node guidance helps you do that authentically — for you.

Unlike generic Sun Sign horoscopes, which ignore so many other aspects, following North Node guidance will always lead you in the right direction. Doors open, healing happens, relationships improve, and life gets more magical. This monthly column will help you tap into your personal North Node Mojo. When you start living your North Node purpose, we all win, because you not only begin to light up your own life. You light up the world.           – Laura

FOURTH QUARTER 2021 NORTH NODE HOROSCOPES

ARIES NORTH NODE: October’s New and Full Moons activate your Aries North Node and Libra South Node axis. Mars — your North Node sign’s ruler — in the opposite sign of Libra for most of October increases the need for integration. Old and new, co-dependent and independent: you’ll need to combine the best of your innate skills and tendencies with what your soul came here to do. When in doubt, take action. Small steps lead to big adventures. Don’t worry about partnership. You’ll find companions on the road. November and December bring squares to your nodal axis, as Venus, Mercury and eventually the Sun join Pluto in Capricorn. Squares trigger productive friction, like the grain of sand that makes an oyster create a pearl. Pay attention to relationship stresses. Irritation signals imbalance. With a small change in attitude, frustration can become determination. Get comfortable with fiery emotions. You can use these to launch desires. Notice uncanny coincidences opening or closing doors. When fear holds you back, nodal axis squares will push you forward. Learn to recognize when you need to stand on your own two feet. Courage comes as you gain experience. Keep going. You’ll like how this story ends.

TAURUS NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 brings challenging and empowering energies to Taurus North Node natives. Your Scorpio South Node knows how to face fear and power struggles, but you’re meant to enjoy the finer things of life. It’s not about doom and gloom, fiery ends, and drama. Stop and smell the roses. Really. Slow down and take your time. The intense square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus continues to create friction all quarter with a finale on Christmas Eve. This energy affects the entire world trying to re-balance questions of empowerment vs. slavery, top-down authority vs. grassroots liberation and innovation. As this unfolds around you, allow yourself the time and space to get grounded. Change is inevitable. It will happen whether or not you dive into the fray. Pay attention to your body as an accurate barometer of what to do — and how and when to do it. Release the fear of missing out. It’s OK to stay home and putter under the radar. November 19 or 20 (depending on your timezone) brings a Full Moon in Taurus, Partial Lunar Eclipse. Use this time to honor whatever most serves you, your body and your values. December offers extra empowerment, so get clear on what makes you feel comfortable, secure and well-nourished. Then ask for more, please!

GEMINI NORTH NODE: This is the last Full Quarter of the True North Node’s transit through Gemini. Get curious and embrace paradox. It’s time to gather the blessings of collective energies in your destiny sign. December 18 features a Full Moon in Gemini. Pay extra attention to signs and synchronicities. In January 2022, the True North Node moves into Taurus, triggering a slower, Earthy cycle. Let your mind wander and wonder before things settle down next year. Which themes dominated your life 18-20 years ago? Who and how are you now? “God is in the details,” so don’t discount small victories and adjustments. How have you changed since the North Node entered your sign in May 2020? What mind-blowing information did you find? What dogma did you forgo? Which old patterns and relationships did you learn from and release? You deserve some fun after all that hard work. Declare yourself a new holiday to celebrate. Who cares if it seems silly?! It’s OK to mix things up a bit. Combine traditions, start your own. You don’t need to do this every year, and you don’t need to do it “right.” You don’t even need to do it at all. Having a Gemini North Node means you always have options. December 18 or 19 (depending on your timezone) brings the Full Moon in Gemini. This is a good time to release anything that no longer serves.

CANCER NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 ups the intensity for Cancer North Node natives. Supportive Water energy trines from planets in Scorpio and Pisces, while planets in Capricorn sort through whatever you need to release from your past. Relationships and self-esteem are “up.” In which ways do you tend to over-manage or over-control? Liberator Uranus continues his beneficial sextile from Taurus, so you’ve got extra impetus to change. The Moon rules your North Node sign, and you’re more sensitive than most to the Moon’s phases. Pay attention to Waxing (increasing) and Waning (decreasing) energies. Moving in cycles can ease resistance. The October New and Full Moons create friction from Libra and Aries. Irritation can fuel desire. If you feel exasperated or world weary, ask what your frustration tells you that you do want. Soften the urge to control, and welcome more nurturing, gentle energies. November’s New and Full Moons offer easier energies for you from Scorpio and Taurus. The month of December could bring up old lovers or force you to release attachments that no longer serve. Commitments, business, and financial decisions will need to reflect evolving values.

LEO NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter presents challenges from planets in Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus, but support from those in Aries, Gemini, Libra and Sagittarius. You’ll do better focusing on relationships than finances. The money will come, but current energies suggest more attention to your heart than your head. Spend time with people and activities that make your heart sing. December’s New and Full Moons will give you insight into larger projects and sharing. Don’t worry if some projects aren’t moving forward as fast as you’d like. The ongoing Saturn square Uranus energies create T-squares and even some Grand Crosses with your nodal axis and planets moving through Scorpio. Trust the Universe to work things out in proper time and place. The cosmic orchestra’s playing your song, even if you can’t hear the music. A lot of delicate readjustments take place from October thru December. You might want to rebel and kick out the jambs, but the King of the Jungle knows when to hunt and when to rest. If things aren’t moving at your desired pace, dive into a creative distraction. You’ll have something to show for this time, and the results could make you proud. Take an internet break, go outside, and get your blood moving. Exercise gets you out of your head and back in touch with your heart.

VIRGO NORTH NODE: You benefit from harmonious planetary transits in Taurus, Scorpio and Capricorn. This quarter could bring a dramatic end to old patterns that really need to go. “If not this, then something better.” Make a list of preferred upgrades in your life and consider implementing them as energies support positive shifts. Your preferences matter, and paying attention to these helps you recognize better opportunities. It’s easier to upgrade than quit addictions cold turkey. Going into the holiday season might tempt you to dial back the discipline, but you’ll get so much more from this time if you stick to your healthy routines. If you don’t have healthy routines, then that’s your first step. Keep your to do list handy and refer to it throughout the day. You’ll get more done if you start early. Your Pisces South Node likes to procrastinate, but your soul longs to check off accomplishments. Motivation breeds more motivation. When you show up, you build energy and momentum to keep showing up. December invites you to reconsider values, business decisions, and relationships. Which ones stimulate your mind? Which ones make day to day life feel grounded and productive? Each moment brings a choice point. Practice choosing, again and again. Little choices create the bigger picture. Your sweeping visions need regular tending through real world tasks.

LIBRA NORTH NODE: October is your month! With the Sun and Mars in Libra for most of October, your North Node receives light, willpower and drive. Pay attention to what seem like destiny level opportunities to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects. Life rearranges itself to get you back on track — or further along if you’re already moving in the right direction. November and December bring squares to your nodal axis, as Venus, Mercury and eventually the Sun join Pluto in Capricorn. Squares trigger productive friction, like the grain of sand that makes an oyster create a pearl. If things feel impossible to do alone, ask someone for help. When two or more join forces and pull in the same direction, work flows easier. Your South Node old ways encouraged you to go lone wolf, but your soul longs to partner with other souls. If your love life isn’t what you’d hoped for, Fourth Quarter urges you to explore relationship patterns, blocks, hopes and dreams. What role do beauty, harmony and balance play in your life? How could you bring more of these into day to day activities? This is a good quarter to shift your appearance. If you’ve thought about changing your hairdo, nourishing your skin, or changing your wardrobe, go for it. If you have trouble losing weight, find an exercise buddy or join an online yoga community. Accountability and camaraderie will increase motivation.

SCORPIO NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 is Scorpio Season! These three months bring direct activations with all the planets moving through Scorpio, but also some gentle support from planets in Capricorn. Transition seasons like Spring and Fall offer energies that support clearing out in preparation for renewal. If you feel the urge to purge, follow those instincts. You’ll make space for something deeper, more soulful and regenerating to take its place. November 4 or 5 (depending on your timezone) gives a powerful reset with the New Moon in Scorpio. November 19 features a Full Moon in Taurus Lunar Eclipse, putting the Moon in your South Node sign and the Sun in your North Node sign. Even partial eclipses amplify lunar energies. Use this one to gain clarity about old relationships, habits, and patterns you would do well to release. It’s often easier to upgrade than to quit addictions. Pray for guidance. The things you fear releasing might better serve you in a slightly altered form. Not all changes occur at once. A caterpillar goes into cocoon phase before it becomes a butterfly. Even when the butterfly leaves the cocoon, it needs to wait for its wings to dry. Careful, tender and gentle attention are appropriate right now. Background energies support necessary shifts in perfect timing. Not too fast, not too slow — just right.

SAGITTARIUS NORTH NODE: Since May 2020, you’ve lived 180° from collective energies, with the transiting True North Node in your South Node sign, and the transiting South Node in your North Node sign. This is the last Full Quarter where things will feel so inverted. It’s always important to march to the beat of your own drum, but especially so from May 2020 through mid-January 2022. This transit worked as a cosmic, karmic clean-up crew, clearing away debris for a more efficient journey. Which distractions, habits, or relationships fell away? How have you refined your education, spirituality and philosophy of life? How have you honed your intuition? Which literal or metaphorical places have you moved beyond? December 3 or 4 (depending on your timezone) features a New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. Pay special attention to insights in and around the eclipse, and take time to integrate. Beware of information overload in Fourth Quarter 2021. Periodic silent retreats might become necessary. If so, don’t apologize. Recharging allows you to walk your talk. Consider a social media or news fast if you can’t do a full silent retreat. Unplugging even for a little while will expand your horizons and your heart.

CAPRICORN NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 brings supportive energy and North Node activations from all the planets moving through Scorpio and Capricorn. Relationships, values and financial shifts intensify in late October through the rest of the year. Intense doesn’t necessarily mean “bad,” but people and events will touch you to the depths of your soul. This theme grows even stronger in December, as transiting Venus makes a rare retrograde through your North Node sign. Venus stations retrograde in Capricorn on the 19th, followed by the Sun entering Capricorn on the 21st. Because of the retrograde activity, the Love Goddess conjuncts Pluto twice in December — on the 11th and then again on Christmas. This extra deep and intimate activity by Venus will affect the entire collective. For Cappy North Node natives, the long Venus transit offers destiny level shifts in relationships, finances, beauty and self-esteem. This is also a good quarter to review your 2021 and your goals for next year. On December 30, Mercury conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. Pay attention to intuitive insights and opportunities for transmutation. Capricorn’s a grounded Earth sign. You can “manage” reality by guiding powerful ideas into form and structure in the visible realm.

AQUARIUS NORTH NODE: With Saturn and then Jupiter moving forward again in October, Aquarius North Node natives will sense an end to some of the gridlock. Exactly how and when this inner shift occurs depends on the degree of your North Node, but Aquarian’s are more linked into group consciousness than they realize. What affects one affects us all — on some level. Ponder that connection and the different ways it could play out. It’s not always “my way or the highway.” Sometimes you feel like a cosmic weirdo, and that’s OK. Local community would be nice, but it doesn’t come by forcing people to see things your way. If you feel isolated, ask, “What can I do to facilitate the highest good of all?” Trust the answer, even if it says to stay home and meditate. Your mind is powerful! Fourth Quarter will present challenges from planets in Scorpio and Taurus, but support from those in Gemini and Libra. Keep your cool. Everything’s moving into alignment. Looking back to Winter Solstice 2020 (Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere), how has your perspective changed? Which things are worth fighting for, and at which battles have you declared a truce? What do “human evolution” and “liberation” have in common?

PISCES NORTH NODE: Fourth Quarter 2021 might feel a bit blurred around the edges. If so, no worries. Sharp lines and clear judgments are overrated. Water and Earth energies move around and through you like changing tides on an ocean shore. If you get stressed out, come back to the breath — in and out, then in and out. You carry this instant reset with you whatever happens and wherever you go. As they say, “Worry is like praying for something you don’t want.” Focus on beauty, harmony and unconditional compassion, including for yourself. With the energies from Scorpio trining Pisces, deep feelings arise. Neptune continues his sojourn in home sign Pisces, and co-Ruler Jupiter returns on December 28. Your faith returns, honed and strengthened. Relationships deepen. This might occur on psychic, dream and spiritual levels where you feel connections without tangible proof. Try not to over-analyze. There is much more to this world than meets the eye or the Virgo South Node. Your feelings are valid, but they might not mean what you think they mean. Open yourself to wider possibilities. You’ll find better guidance from signs and synchronicities than logic. Prayer and meditation are practical actions for Pisces North Node natives.

Denial and Liberation

I came across a post from January 2016, early on in the United States’ first Pluto Return. Now, almost six years later, we’re much closer to exact. As we enter Scorpio season, even more Plutonian energies arise from the depths. I’ve updated the post for late 2021, but it didn’t require much tweaking. We are in it! Fortunately, after the death and destruction, Pluto and Scorpio specialize in rebirth, regeneration and renewal. When we face our shame and fears, we transmute them. This post explores some ways to do that:

Charles Dickens said it, and I agree, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

After so many phone sessions and other conversations, I feel I need to re-acknowledge that yes, amidst all the insanity out there, all the people dying, lockdowns and mandates, supply chain disruptions, the supposedly tanking global economy, all the long term relationships splitting up, and whatever else your news feed, neighbors or own life is stirring up … I can assure you that some truly wonderful, magical, long held dreams, and heartfelt desires are coming into being. All. Over. The. World. People I know, clients, friends, relatives … some real, live people are right this moment finding roads to authenticity and peace spread wide before them.

Tania Marie and I were discussing this polarity today — of extraordinarily amazing things happening while the rest of the world seems to fall apart — and we agree that one key factor is how someone deals with denial.

For people who’ve spent months, years or decades facing down their Shadows, inner demons, and the exasperating uncertainties of life, the world’s chaos keeps opening and aligning grand opportunities for healing, joy and liberation. To quote Nietzsche, “Remember, one must have chaos inside in order to birth a dancing star.” If that idea challenges you, then you might want to treat yourself to some remedial Joanna Macy.

Like it or not, denial continues to become more and more difficult to maintain.

I’ve watched without surprise as supposedly “perfect relationships” “broke up out of nowhere … people who’ve been together forever!” Only the rosiest glasses could have failed to read the writing on those couples’ walls, and yet … many bystanders find themselves reeling with shock right now. Relationship endings can disappoint and traumatize, but when a relationship requires one or both people to live a lie in order to maintain it, then the energies of our times no longer support that relationship. We live in awakening times. You can fight awakening and the responsibility it brings, but not without consequences.

For as many people grieving the loss of a relationship, I know at least as many people celebrating their liberation from co-dependence and/or abuse. The current energies support the desire and right to live in mutual respect. Current energies also support the courage to demand that respect and the means to leave situations in which others refuse to honor healthy and respectful boundaries.

Regardless of heart strings — or maybe because of the strong pull on them right now — denial no longer remains an easy option.

Whether in other countries or inside your own private turmoil, if you want support from the current energies, it’s time to look your fear in the face. Contrary to the saying, not all fear is “false evidence appearing real.” Sometimes fear comes as a valid warning of things way out of balance. Learning to discern real fear can help you to avoid unnecessary trauma. You don’t want to get swallowed or paralyzed by fear, but assessing the situation that triggered fear and then addressing that situation, opens possibilities for positive change and renewal. Refusing to assess and address fearful situations does not make them go away. It turns them into bigger Shadows, threats and manifested traumas until you learn to navigate the scary spots.

Read some faery tales. The real ones, not Disney. Real wisdom lies hidden in those stories from the Brothers Grimm and old folk tales. Happy endings don’t always occur, but when they do, they happen because the hero or heroine faced the fear, activated creativity, and managed to align with help from beyond. You can do that, too. Whatever fear or despair you face, whatever floor just dropped from underneath you, you can find a way to integrate that experience into a rich, authentic and ultimately more fulfilling life trajectory. Loss of innocence hurts, but it also heals.

If you’re one of those magical people experiencing all manner of blessings in life right now, don’t feel afraid to share your stories, triumphs and joy with others. People need to know of other possibilities. They need to know a phoenix can and does rise from its own funeral pyre. Don’t feel ashamed of your blessings. It’s OK to ask for help, but it’s also perfectly permissible — necessary even — to scatter pixie dust and radiate joy to a scared and grieving world.

Peace in, peace out.

Edible Landscaping Secrets

It seems like a good time to reblog this one. With reports of supply chain disruptions and other uncertainty, finding ways to sneak edibles into existing landscaping makes good sense. Plus, it’s pretty and yummy. In most areas, you still have time to order seeds for spring and bulbs or even fruit trees and shrubs for fall planting. The best gifts I’ve ever given myself are fall planted bulbs that bloom just when I can’t stand another day of winter. So cheery, and the pollinators will love you!

Laura Bruno's Blog

I get so many questions from people about permaculture, edible landscaping, Robinhood roses, and “permaculture in pots” that I thought I’d list some of the top things I’ve discovered here. This is by no means a comprehensive post — just sharing some of the beauty and a handful of general tips. (If you would like personal assistance with your own situation, this month’s Property Reading Special can include that.)

Combine Flowers with Veggies:

One of the easiest ways to sneak edibles into a “regular” landscape is to intermingle them with flowers. Passersby will notice the blooms but not the edible. This purple iris and columbine camouflage purple and green radicchio. The taller, vibrant plants distract critters from the radicchio, while the lower radicchio covers the soil and keeps it from drying out so fast. The radicchio is so well hidden that I forgot it was even there, until I found…

Full Moon in Aries ~ October 20, 2021

My October 2021 Forecast shared:

October 20 Full Moon in Aries at 10:57 a.m. Eastern. The axis for this “Blood Moon” squares Pluto, so it will feel extra deep and intense. The Sabian Symbol for the Sun point of this Full Moon is “A MAN BECOMING AWARE OF SPIRITUAL FORCES SURROUNDING AND ASSISTING HIM.” With the Moon point opposite Mars in Libra, we’re invited to join forces within a community of spiritual warriors. In the days following this Full Moon, Mars continues to square Pluto, pitting the power of the individual against hidden forces and deeply entrenched oppression. Alone, the battle feels overwhelming. But when individuals join together in cooperation and solidarity, we win.

According to Dane Rudhyar, the Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon itself is:

PHASE 28 (ARIES 28°): A LARGE AUDIENCE CONFRONTS THE PERFORMER WHO DISAPPOINTED ITS EXPECTATIONS.

KEYNOTE: The necessity for mature preparation and self-criticism.

We see here the tangible results of the situation evoked by the two preceding symbols. Great hopes, excited expectations cannot be sustained. The last symbol reveals the performer’s state of consciousness; in this one he is actually made fully aware of having promised – to the many elements of his own personality as well as perhaps to other human beings – more than he was able to deliver. The issue is how to handle this situation. In one form or another, it is an often recurring situation in the life of an individual person. The manner in which it is met determines the individual’s future possibilities of development and achievement.

This is the third stage of this five-fold sequence. What is implied here is the need to be more than “obsessed by potentiality” and subjectively involved in the use of the new powers. The objective results have to be considered, i.e. what this use will do. The individual is not alone concerned, for in a sense mankind as a whole will be affected. What is required, therefore, is an objective inclusiveness of the whole environment; thus a sense of RESPONSIBILITY for what one’s actions will produce in people who have been made to expect significant results.

You can read the rest of the Sabian Symbols by clicking here.

While squaring Pluto and opposing Mars, this Full Moon also loosely conjuncts Eris, the goddess of discord who started the Trojan War. This meeting intensifies volatility roiling beneath the surface. Egos could flare, so do your best to transcend the lowest expressions of these energies. On a higher level, they ask us to identify what’s worth fighting for and direct positive, healing and regenerative action towards that end. Think “Respect, Not Control.” Faery Rules are in effect. Respect and “No Rudeness” are especially important with this planetary combo.

In addition to conjuncting Mars, the Sun point of this Full Moon conjuncts the Trans Neptunian Object Haumea. In Hawaiian mythology, Haumea is the goddess of fertility and childbirth. Along with death and destruction, Pluto triggers rebirth, renewal and regeneration. Haumea’s presence reminds us that birth pangs bring forth life. We do not labor in vain.

We have spiritual assistance available at all times. Remember to call on it in times of need. If you remember to call upon divine help as a general habit, your life will become more magical than you can imagine. I’m a huge fan of prayer. It costs nothing except humility — and it will paradoxically build your confidence. “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

Love and Blessings,

Laura

Garden Update: A Bigger Vision

I haven’t given a garden update in a long time, because I’ve been super busy working in the garden. In the past few weeks, I’ve quietly increased the front yard garden by another third. Having the extra space means dedicated spots for tulips, lilies, crocuses, and Dr. Seuss-like alliums, plus more room for fall mums, and spring hyacinths and daffodils. I’ll also have more growing areas for things like garlic and carrots.

In fact, this upgrade and expansion began when I realized I didn’t have anywhere to plant bunches of garlic. I started adding Big Bag Bed Mini’s on the inside edge of my existing garden. You can see two of them towards the bottom left:

Those who’ve followed the evolution of this garden will notice another upgrade: a sculptural raised bed to replace the dying, dead, then toppled weeping birch tree.

I miss the birch tree, but it had been dying since we bought this place in May 2017. I nursed it for awhile, but it felt so discouraging to watch the tree’s demise no matter what I did. The woman who planted it stopped by and revealed that this was the third weeping birch she planted in that location. This eased my feelings of inadequacy. I already knew this was not a preferred spot for birch trees, but now I knew it would never thrive there. It wasn’t my fault. I stepped back and allowed nature to take its course.

Once it died, the birch became a bastion of wildlife. So many species of birds landed on those branches, and we even had a nest of wrens. On June 18, 2021, in a post called “The Next Phase and a Collective Dream,” I posted about the tree toppling over in a storm. (11:11 as I typed the title). All that day and the next, birds flew in to pay their respects to the fallen tree, but then they stopped coming. That half stump felt like a persistent reminder of loss.

I couldn’t decide what to plant instead. David and I considered everything from a weeping Norway Spruce, to a medlar tree, to a crabapple or even a sculpture instead of a tree. One day, I decided to add a raised bed out back and went on Gardener’s Supply Company to find one of the troughs I loved in Goshen. While looking at those, I came across this — a sculpture and a raised bed:

You can see another layer of Big Bag Bed Mini and three new Smart Pots between the new raised bed and the original outline of the garden. I needed to add rock (bottom center-right) to even the ground. A dream gave me the solution to filling this thing. I used a combo of cut up Smart Pots and Big Bag Bed Mini’s to line the structure. That will keep the soil from rushing out and also provide better insulation than just a metal structure.

I planted the mum’s so it wouldn’t look like an empty bed, but the real fun will bloom in spring. This bed is layered with early and mid-season tulips, daffodils, alliums, and grape hyacinths. I have very early blooming crocuses en route to me as I type. I haven’t decided what summer plants will go there — probably some kind of drought hardy perennials, plus a little space for annuals like nasturtium and zinnias. I can’t tell you how encouraging and uplifting it feels to have fall-planted bulbs filling themselves with life below the surface. Literally a difference between death and life.

Yesterday, I realized that my ideas for the expanded front garden coincided with a decision to turn a pair of sunglasses I rarely wore into indoor/outdoor glasses with transition lenses. These are big cats eye glasses, but I kept feeling a nudge to make the switch. All my other glasses turn from regular lenses to sunglasses when I go outside. I’ve found I prefer these to straight sunglasses that remain dark if I walk into a store. Wearing these makes me giggle, and faeries love to giggle:

As strange as it sounds, I feel like these huge lenses led me to “see bigger.” Actually, it doesn’t sound strange to me at all. I wrote a very long post called “Vision and Shapeshifting: A Matter of Perspective.” That post shared more selfies than I had in an entire year prior. Despite knowing I didn’t really need another pair of glasses, it kept nagging me to get them. I became a little obsessed with the idea and looked into David’s vision insurance. Indeed, it’s good insurance.

Long story short, I got these switched to transition lenses, and I agreed to try a pair of polarized sunglasses in a “ruby” tint. The polarized lenses were another leap for me. After my TBI, polarized anything made me so sick that I never tried them again until 23 years later. So glad I did! My point here, though, is that the bigger lenses — and perhaps the curiosity of cats’ eyes — resulted in new garden solutions and expansion. Small, symbolic shifts can lead to big 3D world changes:

My mind sees succession planting of blue hyacinths, fancy daffodils, and 60 days of blooming lilies in that empty Big Bag Mini. There’s a matching one off frame to the right. This upgrade and expansion makes the yard feel like “mine.” It doesn’t look like that much more because of how I worked with existing flow — but that expansion makes a huge difference to me.

Gardens are such wise teachers. Never underestimate the power of flowers. Have a beautiful day!

New Moon in Libra and Pluto Direct ~ October 6, 2021

My October 2021 Forecast noted:

October 6 New Moon in Libra at 7:05 a.m. Eastern time, and Pluto stations direct at 2:29 p.m. This New Moon gets supercharged by Mars conjunct the Sun and Moon, followed by Pluto’s seismic shift just hours later. Mars brings action, drive and passion to this reset. If you’ve been waiting for a cosmic “Go!,” today seems equivalent to the Universe saying “On your mark.”

For some reason, I keep being reminded of a dream I had when Pluto stationed direct in 2019. I shared this in my Precognitive Blues Part 3 post, but I’ll share it again here, since it keeps coming to mind:

On October 2, 2019, I had a potent dream. I stood in a pool at twilight chatting with my friend’s teenage son, Sol. (It seemed more symbolic with the name — Sol, aka “Sun” — rather than the person.) We could overhear my aunt and sister discussing the special mandala shaped patio and walkway under their feet. It featured a center circle at slightly lower elevation than the surrounding circles, which all tilted towards the center circle. My aunt told my sister, this setup would “ensure everyone and everything winds up in the right place at the right time in the event of an earthquake.”

At that point, something in me snapped, and I shouted at the dream itself, “What is the significance of ____?” I listed options, making sure to cover all bases except the one I suspected it might be. All of a sudden, the dream turned into a giant Tarot card! I won’t say which card or my question, because those details are private … .

In any case, the dream went from a pool at twilight with Sol/Sun, overhearing a discussion about cracking foundations, safe mandala patios and sorting people and things in the event of an earthquake … then to my question/demand … and then to a giant cartoon Tarot card. I mentioned before that Tarot cards carry multiple meanings. In my dream, this card added and subtracted details to leave only one possible interpretation. Just in case I tried to miss the point — and yes, in the dream I tried to miss it — the card sparkled and flashed its modified details like a cornball cartoon. Subtle it was not.

An amused voice-over asked, “Any questions?”

Stunned, I found myself back in the swimming pool at twilight, talking to Sol and overhearing the exact same conversation about the mandala patio/walkway/foundation built to ensure everyone and everything winds up where they need to be in the event of an earthquake.

I had this powerful Tarot dream the day Pluto turned from retrograde to direct at 20 Capricorn — a significant position in my life for a variety of reasons. At the time of the dream, I didn’t realize Pluto’s shift, but the dream involved such obvious Plutonian themes that my jaw dropped when I looked up the transits. I wanted to discount the dream, but the astrology forced my left brain into compliance. I began composing a “hypothetical” email to my astrology mentor, Ann Kreilkamp and then laughed at myself. The flashing one-interpretation-only Tarot card gave my right brain no place to run. Pretending I didn’t get the message after seeing the astrology embarrassed me enough to stop composing the email.

You asked, Laura. You demanded an answer. We suggest you deal with it.

I’ve had eye popping dreams and synchronicities when some of the longer cycled planets (Neptune, Uranus, Pluto) change signs or direction. Exploring transits at the time of older precognitive dreams has given me much greater context for the shorter “came true” aspects, as well as insights into potential longer term, bigger picture implications. When others or I have a funny feeling — good or bad — about a future point in time, a look at transits offers clarity on what sorts of energies will be in play at that time.

Pluto tends to dredge up subconscious fears, blocks, resentments, and repressed desires. Pluto is relentless. Resistance is futile. If Pluto’s involved in any way, then your dreams and synchronicities will continue to pummel you until you deal with them. Pluto destroys whatever stands in the way of transformation or transmutation. Think of the phoenix rising from its own ashes, a death and rebirth cycle.

Pluto also wants you to find a new balance of power, freeing you from oppression and victimization. Persephone gets whisked into Hades, raped and her innocence destroyed, but she emerges a Queen. She embraces the cycles of life and death. When she returns from the depths, she brings the Sun and warmth and tender buds.

Pluto rules the Underworld, Chthonic Realm, the Shadow, the heavy hand of destiny, primal Nature, and the deepest subconscious and soul needs. I love Pluto, but only because I embrace that realm enough to find and excavate its hidden gems. The Lord of the Underworld offers strength, grit and a powerful chance to “Know Thyself.” Pluto transits last between 2-4 years depending on retrogrades. Any dreams during that time period will likely bring key insights of required changes. I find extra relevance to dreams when a transiting aspect goes exact or when Pluto goes retrograde or direct.

You can read the rest of a much longer article on precognitive dreams and divination here. Today’s energies feature not only Pluto stationing direct, but also a New Moon conjunct Mars. According to Dane Rudhyar, the Sabian Symbol for the New Moon and Mars point is:

PHASE I94 (LIBRA 14°): IN THE HEAT OF THE NOON HOUR A MAN TAKES A SIESTA.

KEYNOTE: The need for recuperation within the social pattern of everyday activity.

This fourth stage symbol can be seen as emphasizing the need for techniques of RELAXATION, and the need to allow the functions of body and psyche to “digest,” free from external pressures, the complex experiences of social living and particularly of business.

(You can read the rest of the symbolism here.)

The combination of all these energies suggests a LOT is going on — so much that we might need to pause before fully engaging. I noted October 6, 2021 as equivalent to the Universe saying, “On your mark.” We’re getting close to “go time,” but we’re not there yet. Yes, Mars the Planet of Action wants to get going, but relaxation, meditation and dreams can provide valuable insights. Embrace the paradox that slower preparation allows for faster movement.

This New Moon also exactly quincunxes Uranus in Taurus. The combo of a New Moon reset involving Mars and Uranus brings power, volatility and innovation to an already potent day. Even if we don’t see an obvious external shift today, these energies trigger something unusual, active, and innovative.

The quincunx (aka “inconjunct”) aspect involves signs that normally have nothing in common. Libra is a Cardinal Air sign, and Taurus is a Fixed Earth sign. When this “minor” quincunx aspect goes into effect, we feel a nagging pressure to integrate. In this case, Libra and Taurus share a common ruler: Venus. She expresses differently in each sign, but her presence points to areas in which we can more easily find harmony.

Yes, these are volatile, sometimes scary, bizarre and traumatic times, but Grace happens. Focus on love, relationships, beauty, values, self-esteem, and financial flow. The finer things in life, supported by love. Do something lovely for yourself and/or your loved ones. There IS a precise order in the Universe — even if you don’t recognize it on the surface.

Stop and smell the roses. This is an important day, but it’s not quite go time yet.
