I haven’t had a chance to watch the entire video yet, but the parts I have are great! Thanks to my friend Karen for sending the link my way. It’s a collaboration with the Findhorn Foundation: such a sweet story in the beginning. 🙂

Ann Kreilkamp~Do You Have Planets in Aries, Cancer, Libra and/or Capricorn?

I’m reposting this as Mars moves almost out of orb from this potent two week period. Did those of you with planets in the 18-23 degree range of Aries, Libra, Capricorn or Cancer notice any major breakthroughs or blow ups? I also noticed less intense but still profound realizations and decisions in clients with that same degree range of Taurus and Virgo.

I’ve got natal Chiron (wounded healer/early childhood wound) and natal Uranus (liberator/rebel/revolutionary/innovator) at 19 degrees Aries and Libra, respectively, so I had an exact square from Saturn, with Mars opposing that. For me, this past couple weeks brought monumental insights and structural shifts after Pluto’s played destroyer like a violinist/wrecking ball over that sensitive spot for over three years. It felt like Mars provided the energy for Saturn to begin the rebuilding phase of this internal renovation project.

Please feel free to share your own insights or experiences in the comments as you feel led. Even if you don’t leave a public comment, I invite you to self reflect and/or journal about any significant realizations, endings or beginnings. This was a big one for large swaths of the collective! No doubt, we’ll continue to unpack these results as we near the exact Saturn/Pluto conjunction. You don’t need to understand astrology in order to FEEL its impact.

Be kind to yourself. Monumental shifts are in the works — inside and out. Much love!

Here’s an important astro- weather report from friend and astrology mentor Ann Kreilkamp. I’ve been noticing this trend in people’s lives, as well. The effects depend on how consciously each person chooses to work with the energies, but there’s no ignoring these transits if they aspect natal placements. Major changes are afoot in my life and in others affected by this ongoing inner and outer space dance.

I post astrology information not to make people feel powerless against Fate, but as a heads up for making the most of the current and upcoming energies. A weather report doesn’t guarantee torrential downpour and floods, but with 80% forecast rain you might enjoy life more with an umbrella — or choose activities benefited by rain, rather than sunbathing on the beach. As always, your mileage will vary depending on who and how you are. In any case, here’s Ann with some powerful…

Garden Update ~ Pollinator Paradise

So far so good on the groundhog front! Since I removed all kale, lettuce and red clover, they’ve not been back. Or, if they have, they still don’t like chard, herbs and all my super fragrant flowers. Our yard is pollinator central for the neighborhood, and I love it! So many bees of all sorts, wasps, butterflies, and moths. The birds are more abundant, too. Just thought I’d share some beauty:

Comments and Sharing

I want to acknowledge here that I am aware of WordPress occasionally censoring comments and the ability to like or share my posts. I’ve heard from four people telling me that they tried to leave a comment multiple times and could not. These are long time blog readers/commenters who’ve become friends, which is why I got an email sharing their frustration about trying to leave a nice comment. I’ve also heard from numerous people who cannot share my posts on Facebook or cannot “Like” my posts anymore.

I can only imagine how many other people this has impacted, and I offer sincere apologies. While I do have a comment approval process to filter out spam and make sure no one leaves comments attacking another person leaving a comment, I approve 99% of submitted comments. I’m fortunate to have lovely, intelligent, creative, spiritually aware, caring and funny blog readers. I value my readers very much, whether or not you comment, “Like” or share my posts. Please know that if you’ve experienced seemingly random censorship here, it’s not coming from me.

WordPress has overtly censored me in the past, refusing to allow me to publish posts with certain key words in the title or body of the text. I know that censorship has become a big deal across most social media platforms. Those of you who’ve followed me for many years know that I used to post much more activist content here and felt led to back off that several years ago. I saw this current trend before it became a trend, and I felt that my own best offerings come from bringing more beauty, healing and empowerment into the world. Other people have different callings, and I respect and admire people who walk that path. It’s just not mine right now, so I don’t know why WordPress “glitches” would do this.

In any case, they are, though. I’ve had that confirmed twice this week, after months of suspecting it. Now that I’ve had the situation more clearly confirmed, I’ll see what I can do behind the scenes to address the issues. In the meantime, thank you for being here. Thank you for continuing to read and trying to comment on, like or share posts. I appreciate it, even if WP keeps me from seeing your engagement.

Sending love, blessings and healing to everyone.

Ann Kreilkamp~ Do You Have Planets in Aries, Cancer, Libra and/or Capricorn?

And are your cardinal planets located in or around the 18°-23° area of any of these four signs? If so, you’ve got furious, impulsive, action-oriented, no holds barred MARS, today [June 12th] at 17° of emotional Cancer, and moving about one degree every two days, either conjunct, square or opposed to that degree area of the zodiac NOW.

Why does this matter? Because we are in the midst of a long-running, and still forming Saturn/Pluto conjunction in that degree area of Capricorn. This zeitgeistian phenomenon, which joins Saturn, the planet of stern discipline and decision to Pluto, the planet of primal death and rebirth, occurs approximately every 35 or 36 years. It began to be felt this year in April and will go through about November of 2020, with the climax January 10th, 2020 when the two planets come to exact conjunction at 22° Capricorn. Since this conjunction involves the two most karmic planets, both inexorable, depth-charging Pluto and uncompromising, decisive Saturn, it’s always momentous for whomever, and whatever groups and institutions want to continue doing what they’re doing and find themselves thwarted, throttled, forced to CHANGE — especially when triggered by Mars!

Here’s a portion of the chart for RIGHT NOW, showing Mars (with Mercury and the north node) opposed to Saturn/Pluto (with the south node).

For example, my housemate Dan, tells me of a few friends of his who have recently started to experience panic attacks, on a daily basis. Furthermore, most of his friends, he says, are drinking way more beer than usual (self-medication). Continue reading

Groundhog Wisdom: Editing for Flow in the Garden, Life and Lyme

I love how life brings themes to our attention on multiple levels at the same time. In my case, I feel the need to edit for flow in several areas of life: the garden, relationships, and my book-in-progress, The Metaphysics of Lyme Disease. Although editing can seem like a left-brained process, I find a gentle balance of observation, patterns and ease provides the best indication of what stays, what goes and what grows.

In the garden, this means acknowledging that groundhogs rule this part of Kalamazoo. Our next door neighbor has already trapped and relocated two “whistle pigs” this year, and we’ve got at least three more who venture into our yards from across the street. Two weekends ago, I spent hours adding compost to the front beds, eyeing gorgeous lettuce, which I planned to harvest that evening. I heard some joyful squeals across the street and thought, “Those groundhogs are excited I added compost, because the produce will taste better. They are gonna love this lettuce!” I dismissed the thought, because who listens to groundhogs, right? Who thinks groundhogs cheer because of garden nutrients?

David and I left for a couple hours to run errands, and when we returned I immediately sensed something amiss. I felt, but couldn’t see a groundhog. Big energy. Big appetite! As I looked for the culprit, I noticed all my flowering purple kale stripped to the stem. And my lettuce, oh, my lettuce! In the center of a round bed sat the tiniest groundhog I’ve ever seen, finishing off the last of it. Five inches long, he was the cutest dastardly thing and ate his weight in lettuce.

Out came the very stinky sprays, which I suspect I hate more than the critters do. Within five minutes, back came the little guy. He nibbled on a couple leaves of chard and echinacea, but they must have tasted awful with all that stinky stuff. He made his way across the street and let out a whistle like a rowdy teenager completing a dare. Very naughty! The next day, out waddled Big Fat Mama, sauntering across our front porch and diving into red clover I’d vaguely “heard” a message to weed every time I passed it for the past week. Big Fat Mama doesn’t care about spray. She just likes her some lettuce, kale and clover — even locating hidden ones I forgot about.

This might seem like a minor mishap, frustration or tragedy, but Groundhog (the spirit animal) provides wise guidance.

Groundhog Wisdom focuses on the importance of clear boundaries and the cycles of life, death/hibernation and rebirth. A shamanic totem, groundhog goes into the Underworld and safely returns. Groundhog’s long winter’s nap connects to Dreamtime, and Groundhog honors Ancestral Wisdom by passing along track ways to generation after generation, even with no direct, physical contact.

Also known as woodchucks, whistle pigs, or marmots, groundhogs are resourceful, intelligent, persistent, and great problem solvers. Groundhog reveals hidden desires and aversions. Although they look alike, groundhogs honor their own personal tastes. They eat what they love and avoid what they don’t. They bring focus to long, complex projects, and they can keep these projects secret until completion. They can burrow and tunnel vast distances, but also climb trees and outwit traps. They know how to disappear when necessary. They look cute, but their sharp teeth, strong claws and metabolic control demand respect.

All of these qualities connect Groundhog very closely to the Faery Realm. Do not underestimate Groundhog!
