November Forecast and North Node Horoscopes

Happy Blue Moon Halloween! At 10:49 a.m. Eastern US time, today’s second Full Moon of the month very closely conjuncts Uranus at 8 degrees Taurus, adding extra surprises, liberation and transformation to an already potent day of very thin veils.

Mercury stations direct on November 3 — election day in the US — clearing at least some of the confusion and miscommunication of the past few weeks. We’ll still have some difficult friction and slowing aspects throughout the month, so don’t get discouraged if things continue feeling kinda crazy. This, too, shall pass. (Eventually!) Though still inhibited by intense squares from Capricorn, Mars stationing direct in Aries on the 13th should help to move along stalled or revamped plans.

Venus spends most of November in her home sign, Libra. Fellow Air Signs Gemini and Aquarius will also get a boost from the Goddess of love, beauty, money, the arts and self-esteem. With the balanced scales of Libra, hopefully, Venus will lend some love and grace to polarized values and demands for justice. On the 21st, she moves into deep, smoldering Scorpio, bringing attention to passion and power dynamics in relationships.

The Sun spends the first three weeks of November shining light on the depths of Scorpio. On the 21st, just hours after Venus enters Scorpio, the Sun moves into fiery archer Sagittarius. We can expect several weeks of dark, shadowy revelations. With Mercury and Mars direct, and once the Sun enters blunt, truth-loving Sagittarius, those murky leaks and blown whistles will start to make sense to more people.

As in October, the Moon is very powerful this month. November begins on the heels of a Blue Moon on Halloween. (The last Full Moon on Halloween was in 2001, so this is a big deal.) On November 15th, just days after Mars goes direct, we’ll have a New Moon in Scorpio. This is a Super Moon that hits the reset button, releasing the old and opening to new urges and intentions. Like October, the final day of November brings another dramatic lunar event — the first eclipse of the season, on a Gemini Full Moon.

How this sky weather affects you will vary, depending on your entire natal chart, but your North Node Horoscope transcends monthly sky events. That’s because your North Node reveals what your soul came here to do. By midlife, the soul starts longing and pressing us to live our true purpose. At first, it whispers through intuition. Then it knocks a little louder through “coincidences” and external events. When not heard and honored, the soul’s longing can show up as health crises, marriage or work issues, or wondering “is this all there is?” If you feel a need to reinvent yourself, following North Node guidance helps you do that authentically — for you.

Unlike generic Sun Sign horoscopes, which ignore so many other aspects, following North Node guidance will always lead you in the right direction. Doors open, healing happens, relationships improve, and life gets more magical. This monthly column will help you tap into your personal North Node Mojo. When you start living your North Node purpose, we all win, because you not only begin to light up your own life. You light up the world.           – Laura

NOVEMBER 2020 NORTH NODE HOROSCOPES

ARIES NORTH NODE: Throughout the month, significant energies from Scorpio will quincunx Aries North Node natives. The quincunx, 150 degrees, is a creative aspect that demands integration of energies that seem not to have anything in common. This could play out in the domain of personal and work relationships — what feels balanced, versus trapped? What would feel more authentic? In which ways do you feel victimized or overly compromised? Pay attention to your dreams this month. Some dynamics are easier to address in that realm or in a journal before taking action in “real” life. On November 13, Mars stations direct after a frustrating period in retrograde since September 9. If projects slowed down during that time, anything on path for you should start moving forward again in the second half of the month. If it’s still not moving forward, you might need to dream bigger. You’re not meant to hide in the shadows or follow societal limitations. The light at the end of the tunnel comes when you not only reach, but run towards it.

TAURUS NORTH NODE: Exercise moderation as you continue to integrate the powerful Blue Moon on Halloween that occurred conjunct Uranus in Taurus. Even if this did not directly aspect your Nodal axis, the effects of this collective transit will linger for Taurus North Node natives. Spend time meditating in Nature, or imagining yourself in Nature. This will help you to make sense of anything shaken loose this month as the Sun, Mercury and Venus cross your South Node in Scorpio. Old contacts or patterns might rear their heads, especially related to identity, self esteem, communication, and/or relationships. Don’t get discouraged if you thought you already left these behind. Life is a spiral journey. Reviewing the old doesn’t mean you’ve failed; it’s just another round of the labyrinth. Holding and wearing crystals also brings part of the deep Earth into your tangible experience. Whether cut or raw, crystals offer powerful grou

GEMINI NORTH NODE: As the transiting North Node continues to move through your North Node sign, happy “accidents” and destiny level connections abound. Pay attention to the open door/closed door policy. Geminis are meant to move from one interest to another. If something feels like banging your head against a wall, then it’s either not for you, or just “not now.” Turning your attention elsewhere will keep things fresh. Practice observing the world with eyes of wonder. Beginner mind carries you towards success and rejuvenation. Of all the North Node signs, yours is the one most likely to stay young at heart. If you catch yourself becoming too serious, spend time with animals, either your own or in the wild. Watch some squirrel antics. Fill a bird feeder with seeds. Learn to appreciate the little things, because they do add up. Tiny moments of delight are sometimes more valuable and important than fireworks and grand pronouncements. Reward yourself for showing up.

CANCER NORTH NODE: November 2020 looks strong for Cancer North Node natives. This month, the Sun, Mercury and Venus all spend time in fellow water sign, Scorpio, lending deep support and flow. Your ability to soothe others’ grief helps you soften harsher energies whirling around the collective. Transmute the urge to steel yourself against the craziness. Random acts of kindness and care are so needed right now. Allow yourself to move beyond expectations of keeping it all together, and instead just listen and follow your heart on what to say or do. Play music that calms and nourishes your heart. Make soup. Curl up under a blanket and watch the Moon. Things will pick up speed after the 13th. Pay attention to friction between what your ego wants and what your soul needs. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not — for you. Prioritize your inner being. Sensitivity brings opportunities for those committed to balanced giving and receiving.

LEO NORTH NODE: If you feel introspective and world weary this month, indulge that urge. The Sun in deep diving Scorpio squares Leo until November 21, when it moves into Leo-friendly Sagittarius. Venus enters Scorpio that same morning, pushing you to look deeper at relationships, self-value, and how you bring beauty into the world. Though difficult, this ongoing Shadow Work offers a return to your natural state of playful innocence. Release any shame, power struggles or feelings of unworthiness. Blessings abound. You just need to let your heart lead the way. Aquarius South Node’s mental chatter and group mindedness dims your light and shuts you down. Frustration and overwhelm are not states to tolerate and repress. They’re signs of something amiss. Look for and expect to find practical solutions to problems. You’ll know the solution’s right if it unexpectedly puts you in the spotlight or moves you forward. Accept and allow this to happen. It’s the natural way for Leo North Node natives.

VIRGO NORTH NODE: November 2020 intensifies both your physical and spiritual experience of life. Spend some time meditating this month, but do so for a set amount of time each day rather than zoning out for extended periods of time. If you return to center and take short time outs, your perspective will shift in potentially dramatic ways. You’ll find greater clarity about day to day details. The Sun, Mercury and Venus all spend time in Scorpio this month, offering you deep and supportive energy towards integration. Virgo North Node natives need to find their own balance between a tendency towards overwhelm and withdrawal, and a calling to serve others in practical and healing ways. The second half of the month could bring swift advancement, like a pulled back rubber band springing forward. Use the first half to move through your preparatory to do list. Staying disciplined now will allow you to remain centered even as the world shifts around and inside of you. Peace in, peace out.

LIBRA NORTH NODE: November 2020 could feel a bit surreal. Your Aries South Node creates impatience and a desire to move forward ASAP. Although it seems slower, you’ll move faster in the end by taking your time now. Mars retrograde in opposing Aries until November 13 might tempt you to rash actions; just remember to pause first. Weigh how any decisions would affect those around you. They matter, too, especially any children or youths in your life. Always look for win-win situations, but this month brings special attention to younger people. You might also receive important insights from someone who seems less experienced. Pay attention! Everyone has value, and you’re meant to recognize and cultivate that value in others. Love goddess Venus rules the sign of Libra. She moves through your sign until November 21, bringing extra blessings to Libra North Node natives. Allow her grace, charm and artistry to beautify your world.

SCORPIO NORTH NODE: The Sun’s in your North Node sign until November 21, when Venus enters Scorpio. Finally, some sweet, nurturing energy after a challenging few months! Treat yourself to something sensual and restorative. If you’ve been working too hard, adopt a more balanced policy. You can help, as long as it’s not too taxing. You’ll find greater satisfaction and relief if you face your fears head on. Resist the urge to cling to people or situations that need to change with the changing times. Letting go doesn’t always mean loss. It allows the new to take form. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance.” ~ Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4. You feel it all, Scorpio. Good or bad, nothing lasts forever. Accepting this fact is your key to peace.

SAGITTARIUS NORTH NODE: Sometimes life seems like “choosing between the lesser of two evils,” but this is really a matter of perspective. You have what it takes to move forward from a place of balance. Even a clouded future offers clues to the Sagittarius North Node native. Your intuition provides a kind of crystal ball that allows you to choose wisely. All it takes is prayer and focus. Too many distractions act like kryptonite. You can get too mental, when your heart and intuition would provide much better guidance. You already have all the elements you need, so stop trying to chase down more skills, more learning. Sometimes “Enough is enough” Focus on gratitude and patience. No, patience doesn’t come easy, but it does pay off for you. Resist the urge to add more commitments and more delays. Getting comfortable with the uncertainty allows you to move forward faster and with clarity. Focus on opportunities to use skills and talents you already have. They will see you through any tight spots or perceived challenges. Always seek a bigger picture, and you will find your Truth.

CAPRICORN NORTH NODE: This month brings deep messages, especially related to love and relationships: which people bring you out of your Cancer South Node shell? Who drains you? Who uplifts and inspires you to do and be your best? Look for opportunities to step into greater leadership roles. This might mean reducing or shifting family obligations. You can find a new balance that works for you and that others will honor. Fate level events might force things along. There are a lot of strong forces affecting Capricorn North Node natives for this whole month. November’s the last full month where Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto will all three be in Capricorn. 2020 as a whole has challenged your North Node sign, but careful attention to new foundations will start really paying dividends this month. Financial gifts or help could also arrive in perfect timing. Pay attention to inner messages, as well as synchronicities. You are here for a reason. When you step up, the Universe supports you.

AQUARIUS NORTH NODE: This month could challenge your preconceived notions, especially heartfelt ideas of right and wrong. The Sun spends three weeks in Scorpio in November, squaring Aquarius. Mercury returns to Scorpio on November 10, and Venus enters this sign on the 21st, just as the Sun moves into Sagittarius — a more supportive energy for Aquarius North Node natives. When in doubt, err on the side of extra tolerance and curiosity instead of outrage. You will fair better if you ask to recognize and receive the blessings of whatever appears to be happening. Sometimes things don’t turn out the way you think they should, but if you align with your inner guidance and intuition, you’ll find that things turn out for the best. Your North Node sign needs to remember to step back from reactivity. Be prepared for changed outlooks. Pause. Respond instead of reacting. Have faith that new, unseen things are gestating. You can’t see them yet, but strength and success will come the more you can trust and embrace the Highest Good of All.

PISCES NORTH NODE: November 2020’s a big month filled with archetypal forces. Indulge your need for calm and quiet. When you withdraw from the fray, you’re able to shine a light for others. In order to do so, you need to reconnect and recharge through meditation, chants or simple solitude. Yours is a magical North Node sign, able to tap into larger currents in the Fullness of Time. All the elements are there for you: ask for eyes to see and ears to hear. When in doubt, follow your heart instead of listening to too much mental chatter. Keep your feet on the ground in order to fill up with life force energy. When walking Nature, imagine yourself as a tree with very deep roots. Allow your branches to expand far and wide. The more you connect with the Earth, the further you can expand with Spirit. Look for and honor signs of the Divine Masculine this month. You might find this strong, caring male presence in a co-worker, a friend, or through a movie. When you expand your perspective, life can surprise you in marvelous ways.

Ann Kreilkamp ~ Aftermath, New Moon in Taurus: Starting Over from Zero

Amazing: I just pulled Edith Piaf’s natal chart and reconciled the birth time (11:11 here right this moment as I type this) after a very synchronous dream this morning. Her Moon is at 4 Gemini, right on my natal Mercury, and that aspect is what I mentioned at the beginning of this post. The dream tied into the Lion Dream, linked in the comments.

Uncannily precise. I feel confident about the chart reconciliation, because it’s been verified I’m good at this — when people later find their birth time, I’m usually very close with my intuition.

This puts her with Chiron in Pisces right on the Ascendant, conjunct Jupiter … and her Sun and Mercury in the 10th house, very close to the Midheaven. For any astrologers who know her life story of addictions, alcoholism, ill health, a childlike quality, yet huge charisma, this will make sense. For me, the exact 4 Gemini Moon degree just caps it off. Mega explosions of synchronicity, tied into the Lion Dream and so much more. Wow.

After this morning’s dream, I grabbed my dream journal and the glass of water from my nightstand. Somehow, when I opened my office door, the water from the glass splashed onto the threshold, like an offering. It was just like a sprinkling of holy water or something — and it felt like the dream continued into waking life. David and I watched “La Vie En Rose” last night, the biography of Edith Piaf. My Dream Guys told me to look up this post because I awoke with the song (at the end of the post and of the film) playing in my head. Then the water offering on the threshold spontaneously occurred, and the synchronicities keep popping like fireworks. Astrology and dreams really do blow my mind. Great film, btw — very intense, but also well done.

Laura Bruno's Blog

I enjoyed this post from Ann Kreilkamp, and I’ve noticed similar reboots for a number of people, including myself. In retrospect, I also experienced some of my most amazing dream downloads ever exactly when the fast moving Moon conjuncted my natal Mercury at 4 degrees Gemini. That was a direct hit of early morning insight and inspiration! For anyone who’s had a particularly rich or intense past week, this post offers some larger astrological context. I love the Edith Piaf song at the end.

Ann Kreilkamp ~ Aftermath, New Moon in Taurus: Starting Over from Zero

The powerful Taurus New Moon of May 4th has come and gone. And if you are one of those who found that some long simmering drama finally came to a head during that time and continues now to completely dissolve a Neptunian spell that you had been under for the past two years (one…

Fall Colors of Kalamazoo

Autumn glory in Kalamazoo! David and I walked one of our favorite parts of the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail today. Such a beautiful Fall!

Sharon Blackie ~ Becoming Who We Are

This newsletter/post by Dr. Sharon Blackie came through at such a synchronous moment for me — a series of reassurances that began with a dream and continued to unfold for over an hour.

It’s a beautiful, encouraging post in these times of certain change and uncertain outcomes. Highly recommended, affirming post. You can read it here.

Death and Dying: Relinquishment on the Spiritual Path

Whoa, this post just came up in a multi-layered mega whammy of synchronicities today. I first posted this on November 5, 2010, and it shares some written pondering from a journal twelve years prior — when I was still too brain injured to read. I would write, but I could not reread my writing. I just sensed that I needed to record some of my journey. The intricacies of today’s synchronicities, and the fact I’ve had November 5 on the brain, urged me to repost. Maybe there’s something in here for others — or maybe some reminder to myself.

Laura Bruno's Blog

I’ve spent most of today in awe of a 1998 journal I kept when I could not read what I was writing. During the early months of my brain injury, I somehow sensed the magnitude of this time period, and recorded it for later, even though migraines prevented me from re-reading what I wrote. I’ve found some real gems in there, jewels of synchronicity that memory had distorted from their original brilliant gleam. I’ve also discovered that despite my “loss of a rational side,” some strangely relevant insights continue to unearth themselves, even twelve years later.

So many people seem to be leaving parts of themselves behind these days that I decided to share this partial entry from 10/28/98. For the sake of privacy and brevity, I’m extracting parts that do not reference specific people or situations, but I hope you will find this sharing helpful during Fall…

Potent, Psychic Destiny Level New Moon in Libra

Happy New Moon in Libra!

(It’s 11:11 a.m. as I begin this post.) At 3:31 p.m. Eastern US Daylight time, the Sun and Moon conjunct at 23°53′ Libra. This New Moon squares the potent cluster of Jupiter/Pluto/Saturn at 19°-25° Capricorn, and opposes Mars/Lilith/Eris at 20°-26° Aries. This forms a Cardinal T-square of very intense energies, and many astrologers have written about the tensions of this New Moon.

When writing about last month’s New Moon in Virgo, I noted the prominence of Lachesis, the cutter, the terminator, a marker of endings. I said:

It will be interesting to see — in retrospect — which things get thwarted and which succeed, which things end so that new things can begin. I say “in retrospect,” because with Neptune at 19° Pisces — strongest in his home sign — opposing the New Moon and all forming a Grand Cross with the nodal axis, what first appears to be true will likely prove otherwise. The picture is so big, so complex, and so elusive that only time to sort through the details (Virgo) from a much larger perspective (Neptune in Pisces) will allow us to see how this New Moon, this September 17, 2020, changes history.

That statement proved prophetic in that the very next day announced the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. During this month’s New Moon in Libra —  a Venus-ruled sign symbolized by the scales of Justice —  the news cycle is dominated by Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination and confirmation hearings to replace Justice Ginsburg. Everything moves in cycles.

I mention my observations about Lachesis, because for this month’s New Moon, my attention got drawn to asteroid Psyche at 22° 47′ Gemini, closely conjunct the transiting North Node at 21° 33′ Gemini. Both of these placements closely trine the New Moon in Libra, lending intuitive and destiny level support to this Sun/Moon reset. In other words, even though the New Moon occurs at a point of extreme tension of Shadow, Justice, rules, the Underworld, willpower, war, sexuality, angry females, overpowering males, and explosive, volcanic emotions — if we quiet ourselves enough to hear the still small voice inside ourselves, this New Moon could prove pivotal in getting us back on track.

This positive adjusting to get back on course, back on our true, authentic path, is amplified by Pluto closely quincunxing the North Node and Psyche. Though often considered a minor aspect, I find the quincunx (150°) aspect highly potent and creative. Cardinal Earth Sign Capricorn has nothing in common with Mutable Air Sign Gemini, yet the quincunx demands integration. With the North Node, Psyche and Pluto in the mix, it favors intuitive insights that arise from very deep subconscious or hidden realms, and having those insights nourish the soul and help us align with our collective and individual destinies.

In other words, PAY ATTENTION to little, intuitive nudges you feel today and in the coming days. New Moons act like monthly resets. In magic, they say, “It takes a New Moon to manifest whatever you wished for on the Full Moon.” You set the intention, but reality’s cyclical reset allows for the new  thought forms to take root. I began paying much more attention to Moon cycles after I started gardening, because I noticed that plants really do respond to the ebb and flow of energies. The Moon controls the tides, but we are also filled with water. Our bodies and emotions feel the pull, whether or not we acknowledge the influence.

Astrology is basically the study of grand, cosmic synchronicity. We can experience influences on different levels; however, the influences do come. Aligning ourselves with the energies allows for us to lean into opportunities and minimize negative influences. As Dane Rudhyar said, “Astrology is a language. If you understand the language, the sky speaks to you.”

I thought I’d finish today’s post with two Sabian Symbols for today’s New Moon, both from Dane Rudhyar. The first is for the degree of Wounded Healer Chiron, currently at 6° 24′ Aries. You always round up for Sabian Symbols, so we’ll look at Aries 7°. To me, this seems like the crux of collective healing right now. Multiple realities exist. I see this with clients, and I write about it a lot. Whether I call it El Mundo Bueno and El Mundo Malo, timeline jumps or alternate realities, I refer to the opportunities presented by “being in the world but not of it.” Chiron at this degree during this powerful alignment of the New Moon in Libra, serves a potent reminder of humanity’s chance to heal by accepting that different levels exist. In our polarized world, this awareness seems key right now:

PHASE 7 (ARIES 7°): A MAN SUCCEEDS IN EXPRESSING HIMSELF SIMULTANEOUSLY IN TWO REALMS.

KEYNOTE: The first realization of the dual nature of man and of the possibilities it implies.

This symbol represents the antithesis of the thesis pictured ill Phase 6, yet in such a five-fold sequence what we see is contrast rather than opposition. The primordial one-sidedness of emotional and cultural manifestation actually calls for the compensatory ability to operate at two levels. Thus the primary dualism of Sky and Earth, of the divine and the human, of spirit and matter. The vision and the emotions are focused within sharply defined boundaries, but within these boundaries they express themselves at two levels. This is the foundation of religion as well as of magic.

A situation which has become characterized by this symbol can be successfully faced if its spiritual and material implications are understood and actualized.

At this second stage of the second five-fold sequence of symbols we see at work man’s capacity for LIVING TWO SEPARATE LIVES – and finding fulfillment and happiness in both. On this capacity are founded many of the complexities of human nature.

I love this Chiron degree Sabian Symbol combined with the symbol for 24° Libra, the Sabian Symbol of the 23° 53′ Libra New Moon:

PHASE 204 (LIBRA 24°): A BUTTERFLY WITH A THIRD WING ON ITS LEFT SIDE.

KEYNOTE: The ability to develop, for inner strengthening, new modes of response to basic life situations.

The butterfly is the ancient and traditional symbol of the results of the process of spiritual rebirth. If the butterfly has three wings instead of two, a special development of an aspect of the spiritual life is shown. Three is a symbol of fulfillment. Some power has been added to the normal spiritual life of the individual person. The left side usually refers to the instinctual field of the consciousness, but it is also the heart’s side. A new strength is shown, perhaps as yet unrealized.

A fourth stage symbol usually refers to some kind of technique or technical achievement. What is implied here is that the contact with the revivifying Life-force (cf. the first stage symbol) can result in the appearance of a new faculty, the use of which may not as yet be consciously evaluated. Indeed it is the establishment of such a contact which constitutes a technique for ORIGINAL MUTATION.

We live in strange, trying and miraculous times. This New Moon in Libra offers extra energy towards transmutation and destiny level collective healing. Individuals make up the collective, so the more we each align with the deep, beautiful being that lives inside ourselves, the more beautiful and healed our world will be. Take some time to listen to the quiet voice, to the stillness within.

In a world of amplified distraction, your inner self matters. As in, it creates and embodies matter. Tune in and dream well!

Magical Birch and Fall Colors

Just a quick post I’ve been trying to add for awhile. The weeping birch has gone full on faery condo, with a magical mushroom stairway to heaven, and a little woodpecker friend hollowing out the trunk. I have THE hardest time photographing this tree and getting it to load here, but hopefully this time will work. 🙂

Faery Stairway to Heaven

I love how the tree almost looks like a singing cyclops. Mums and asters are in their autumn glory, too:

Yesterday, my mood hair decided to join the party by taking on a purplish undertone to the more usual auburn. I say mood hair, because it changes color with my mood. The happier I get, the redder it gets, but if I get really, really joyful, it turns more purple. The background colors are off due to the light, but my hair and clothes are accurately portrayed. The connection between our environment and ourselves is often closer than we think!

In these crazy energies, make sure you take a moment each day to enjoy whatever you can around you. Life is magical — sometimes even more so when the world around gets more intense. Peace and a peeking owl to you and yours!

October 2020 North Node Horoscopes are Here

They’re still having big technical issues over at CGO. We agreed that I should post these here, so that they go out in a timely manner. I’m including the original intro, followed by the individual monthly North Node Horoscopes. At some point, all the fun graphics and the correct month will be up on their site, but until then, here’s the astro weather and the individual scopes.

OCTOBER 2020 ASTRO WEATHER

October 2020 begins with a Full Moon in Aries on the 1st and ends with a potent Blue Moon on Halloween. This second Full Moon of the month is electric as it conjuncts Uranus in Taurus on a day when the veils between worlds are already very thin. Make a wish and let the lightning impulse ground into the Earth. The last Full Moon on Halloween was in 2001.

On October 9, Mars makes his second exact square to Pluto, bringing volcanic energies to the surface. If you don’t know what you want, this is a good day to lay low. Try to avoid intense situations on the days in and around the 9th. They might boil to the surface anyway, so prepare yourself if you know something’s gurgling beneath the surface. Just don’t go seeking conflict that day unless you really love intensity!

On October 13, Mercury stations retrograde and remains retrograde until November 3, which is election day in the US. If you vote, you might want to do so well before the 13th. Last time Mercury stationed on election day was in 2000. At least it’s stationing direct this year, but the retrograde action will just add to the intensity of the ongoing Mars squares and oppositions. Miscommunications could turn into screaming matches, so breathe before you shout. Dot your i’s and cross your t’s. Spend time doing the re-’s: review, rework, recharge, release. The New Moon in Libra on the 16th offers a potent chance to reset, as Sun and Moon square Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn while opposing Mars. Big energies! You can use these to enhance intentions of a new beginning.

The Sun remains in Libra until October 22 and then moves into Scorpio, where it will shine light on the darkness. Expect ongoing revelations of Shadowy Underworld things through October, but especially ramping up from the 22nd through Halloween. Life might feel chaotic, but following your North Node guidance opens doors when you need them and when they serve your highest good. For those with clear focus, awareness and intention, chaos brings opportunities.

– Laura

You can find your North Node sign here which is often different than your Sun sign. (If you’re right on a cusp, consider both options, or book a reading for more clarity.)

OCTOBER 2020 NORTH NODE HOROSCOPES

ARIES NORTH NODE: While much of the zodiac gets squared or opposed by Mars moving through Aries, your sign gets energized. You’ve had heavyweight energies creating friction for years, which your Libra South Node really dislikes. Events are realigning to bring new partnerships that honor your need for adventure and self-expression. These are different types of relationships, a different way of being that focuses more on your abilities and your leadership. If you need to work with others, make sure you negotiate enough freedom to make key decisions that work to your advantage. You can experience a win-win, but resist the tendency to give yourself short shrift. The scale needs to be balanced or even tip a bit more in your favor. Difficult tasks will go faster and easier if you approach them as an explorer. Break new ground to solve old issues. Yours is a pioneer sign. Don’t be afraid to charge ahead.

TAURUS NORTH NODE: As the world moves more towards chaos, your task becomes finding new opportunities to love life and anchor beauty into the physical realm. Mental conceptions — how you think about relationships, both personal and with leaders on the world stage — could undergo sharp changes in October 2020. Allow the messages to come in, and work with the new information in order to build a more stable and abundant future for yourself and those you love. With a Scorpio South Node, you already know how to do radical change. Focus less on scorched earth and burning bridges, and more on small, incremental steps, habits and relationships that ground and nourish you. Place is very important to Taurus North Node natives. Clothing, how you express yourself in physical form also gain more importance. Don’t be afraid to befriend rocks, trees and the Natural realm. Part of your conceptual change may make you realize how connected and supported you always are.

GEMINI NORTH NODE: Pay attention to signs and synchronicities, especially messages that arrive from someone with a youthful spirit. While Gemini North Node natives usually do well to wander, this month you’ll want to exert more discipline than usual. Listen to your intuition, and stay on your path for safety. Watch any tendencies towards self-sabotage or flying off the handle in a self-righteous way. Tempers and tensions run high in October 2020. Even if your life’s going well, others around you might feel grief or need support. Your best offering to those in need is good cheer. Be the bright spot in someone’s day. It will lift your spirits, too. Look for and share delightful tidbits. A quick hello, animal or garden photos, or a silly phrase can open more doors than you’d expect. This could be a month of unusual animals sightings. I you see something in waking life or a dream, be sure to look up shamanic and/or spiritual meaning of that animal. The Universe is chatty! Learn to listen.

CANCER NORTH NODE: October 2020 intensifies pressure from heavyweight planets in Capricorn square fiery Mars in Aries. You will need to find a balance between responsibility and empathy. Resist the urge to shut down your heart. Everything flows much better for you when you show a little vulnerability. You won’t look weak. Others will recognize your strength and feel honored to see you with some of your guard down. Release the martyr complex. You don’t need to do everything for everyone. They just need to know you care. Stay grounded this month by taking walks in Nature or just sitting or lying on the grass. If you can find a body of water to commune with, so much the better. At least fill that bathtub and take a good, relaxing soak. Add sea salt if you feel overly sensitive to the energies around you. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, and this month has three major Moon events: the Full Moon on October 1, and New Moon on October 16th, and a rare Blue Moon on Halloween. A Blue Moon is the second Full Moon in a month, and this one conjuncts revolutionary Uranus in Taurus, with supportive energy towards the sign of Cancer.

LEO NORTH NODE: In October 2020, your skills and accomplishments might receive more accolades than usual. Accept the praise and revel in it. Even if you just feel a healthy dose of pride in work well done, allow the warmth and enhanced self-esteem to permeate your being. Honor your great, big, passionate heart, and know that you, too, deserve big love. This month could bring unusual but practical solutions to problems. Things might seem hasty from the outside looking in, but only you know what kind of meticulous preparation you’ve made behind the scenes. As long as you search your heart and follow it, you will be able to bring ideas into tangible form. This month focuses more on the physical, mental and spiritual realms. You’ve been doing the inner emotional processing either consciously or in your dreams. For now, go where your heart leads, trusting that the emotions will sort themselves in proper time. Learn to expect good things.

VIRGO NORTH NODE: If you can stay grounded and hold your own inner authority you’ll have the world at your feet. Unexpected events hold great benefits for you if you maintain focus and use the mantra, “If not this, then something better.” Resist the urge to zone out, and be careful of any additions to sugar, alcohol or chocolate. You’d do much better reorganizing your closet or cleaning out the inbox. Virgo is an Earth sign, ruled by mental Mercury. You tend to process information more slowly than Mercury ruled Gemini, but when you do process, you do so thoroughly. This month will bring some long cycles to completion. This is not a true loss, but a new beginning and hope for the future. Relocation is “up” — possibly this month, but more likely some ideas about locations will begin to percolate. Write them down but don’t overly romanticize where you are or where you might be headed. Again, stay grounded. Go for walks, anchor yourself in the day to day. Solid spiritual and exercise routines make larger changes easier to implement. You benefit from order and discipline.

LIBRA NORTH NODE: October 2020 brings together the culmination of plans long at work behind the scenes. You may have sensed things needing to shift but not known how they would. The New Moon on October 16 could usher in clarity and a successful if unexpected resolution to complete situations. As peacemakers and natural mediators, Libra North Node natives can bridge gaps and soothe other people’s shock and grief. Your balanced perspective helps others realize how seeming traps are often opportunities in disguise. Your innate courage can help fortify people who faith has wavered. Focus on creativity, fertility and growth. A new world is on offer for those with passion and perspective to claim rewards. Reach for the open door that appears, and resist the temptation to run away like a lone wolf. Part of your roll is to hold open the door to usher others through it. Do not underestimate the importance of this task.

SCORPIO NORTH NODE: The Sun enters your North Node sign on October 22 until November 21, and this will bring some much needed light and energy pointing the way towards healing, rejuvenation and rebirth. Scorpio so often dives into the depths and Shadow that it feels good to come up for a breath of sunshine. Focus on experiences and/or relationships that celebrate the best of the old while also honoring the new. Many longer life processes are moving towards completion. A combination of intuition, will power and the raw energy of emotions will lead to creation, growth and success. Focus on wholeness and holism. Pay attention to your dreams this month. You would also benefit from adding soulful rituals into your daily life. Which habits help you honor that deep, beautiful being inside yourself? Meditating with crystals or Gregorian chants empowers you. Do something special on Halloween. It the most powerful day of the year to honor your ancestors and explore generational healing.

SAGITTARIUS NORTH NODE: Pablo Picasso said “Anything you can imagine is real.” You receive guidance not only from intuition and your loving family of guides and angels, but also through your hopes and dreams. These quiet urges will led to real results if you carve out enough time and space to watch and listen. Move beyond the monkey mind into a deeper well of images. Pay attention to messages that arrive through children or childlike people. If you can find a photog of yourself between the age of 6 and 10, look into your eyes. What did “little you” dream of becoming? When you honor your child self, you model that process for others and inspire healing and transmutation. Your life feels best when you operate from faith. Come back to the mantra, “I am loving. I am loved.” Inhale Love and release it to the world through your words and deeds.

CAPRICORN NORTH NODE: Don’t be afraid to go into hermit mode this month. October 2020 could be rough for empaths: lots of crazy energies out there! Remember to honor your need for boundaries. Only offer help if it’s not too taxing. If you feel stretched too thin, literally back off. Major cosmic forces are in play right now. Destiny level resets in the collective. With such planetary powerhouses still in Capricorn, those with Capricorn North Nodes may feel collective shifts in very personal ways. Continue building new, stronger, more resilient foundations. If something feels shaky, take the time to level out. Use the changing season as inspiration for sloughing off the old. Exfoliate the skin, maybe try an inner cleanse or a social media fast. This is a great month for revamping and review. Minimize distractions so you can make the most of these energies.

AQUARIUS NORTH NODE: October 2020 brings joy, abundance and a bountiful harvest for those who align with the Cosmic Law: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and love your neighbor as yourself.” Depending how much you tap into the general zeitgeist, you might find your intuition has been spot on … or October 2020 could feel disillusioning as comfortable platitudes give way to deeper truths. Keep an open mind and continue to practice non-attachment. If you find yourself reacting in a reflexive way, take five. Literally, follow your breath in silence for five full minutes. Beware the “of course’s,” those things you take for granted so much that you assume they’re truth with a capital T. For Aquarius North Node natives, strong assertions deserve questions. Ask your higher self to show you what you’re missing. Then pay attention to the answer!

PISCES NORTH NODE: Yours is the most romantic North Node sign, and love is in the air this month. Pay attention to dreams, sings and synchronicities, but resist the urge to over-analyze. Just be. Allow for the possibility of safe passage, as natural currents and hidden guides direct your path. Bring a Higher Love to all you do and are. When you fall in love with life, you emit signals that align you with your destiny. Stay out of your own way. Love is the underlying fabric of the cosmos. Practice honoring the Divine in others and within yourself.. Feel yourself as part and partner of the Dance. Instead of worrying, adopt the mantra: “If not this, then something better.” Ask for help recognizing and receiving the blessings and healing freely offered in October 2020. And always.
