Lee Harris~ December Energy Forecast

I know many of my blog readers also subscribe to Lee Harris, but I felt this energy forecast was important to share for everyone here. So many recent sessions have covered similar material, especially with people empathing the intense planetary, cosmic and political energies.

I’ve had sessions with other intuitives and energy workers who don’t normally “need” sessions but who’ve found themselves at their wits’ end the last few weeks. There should be no shame in this at all! We each go through our own challenges and shifts, and no one needs to be perfect. (Whatever “perfect” even means!) Be gentle with yourself and positive opportunities will reveal themselves.

As Lee says, this intensity will likely continue through February, so developing a strategy and tools to thrive is time well spent. Even if you already have a spiritual awareness practice, you might find yourself “leveling up” in different areas:

Eagle Heights, Christmas Decorations, and Time Loops, Oh, My!

David and I had one of the loveliest Thanksgiving Weekends we’ve enjoyed together, just the two of us because David was on call Thursday. He did not, however, get called and so we made our own mostly gluten-free, entirely vegan feast, took a luxurious nap, watched a movie and puttered around the house.

In addition to the yummies below, I made gf vegan pumpkin pie (cashew based). The stuffing below is topped with a fermented celery “dressing” we began right after this previous post about Pickle Pipes. We had our doubts, but the celery did, indeed, end up delicious. The live, fermented food made digesting this big meal a breeze. (Recipe from “Fermented Vegetables,” by Christopher Shockey and Kirsten K. Shockey. The faux turkey was from Gardein and the only gluten containing part of our dinner.)

On Saturday, we decided to check out the W.K. Kellogg Estate, also known as “Eagle Heights.” Located on Gull Lake, this summer estate of Will Keith Kellogg features a Christmas crafts bazaar each year. We had no idea what to expect, but we like touring old manors. David thought it might transition us from Thanksgiving to the Christmas Season, and it sure did! This manor has so much history. With warm and informative volunteers, gorgeous decorations, 1,600-foot shoreline, crafts, Bird Sanctuary and the manor itself, we felt like we walked into a simpler time and place.

The entire back side of the house overlooks Gull Lake. Every rear window offers expansive views of trees, gardens and water. Continue reading

Timeline Changes Afoot

Just a quick post, as I’m navigating my own upgrading and expanding timelines. I’ve heard from a number of people, especially in the past few days, asking what’s up with the energies and do I feel them, too? Yes, I do … and what’s up depends on how you focus, how you’re living, how prayerful/intentional/present you are, and what you allow as “possible.”

Whenever chaotic energies arise, they offer easier opportunities for timeline jumps and reality upgrades.

Change will happen, so keep your focus on what you do want, rather than what you don’t want. You can use the increased awareness of negative timelines to clarify the kind of life you do want to live, but if you want to make the most of these powerful energies, then do whatever you can to keep your vibration as high and clear as possible. Trust your intuition, and don’t sweat the small stuff. When timelines shift, some of the non-urgent details tend to shift, as well. I’ll share some of my recent experiences in another post, but suffice to say, some kooky crazy “impossible” things keep happening.

If this happens to you, and you’ve been playing with timelines, ask yourself which things are truly important to you. Do you like the new trajectory? If so, then do the insignificant details need to become an issue? If these details do remain an issue, then they’re not insignificant, in which case, get your intentions and focus ready to shift again. 🙂 If you need assistance or grounding  to clarify what the heck is going on and how to make the most of it, we can set up a session, either for one of November’s Specials or something else. Just let me know.

Big blessings on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride … or, as my morning dream would say … on The Golden Frog’s Wild Hop. 😉

Thanksgiving Blessings!

Just a quick note to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and to express gratitude for all my blog readers, clients, friends and family. Thank you for all the wonder and beauty you bring to this world. Thank you for your comments, support and friendship over the months and years. I wish you each a year filled with gratitude, authenticity, playfulness and joy. Big blessings to you and yours!

Integrating the North Node: Personal, Work and Writing Updates

For years, I’ve found that when a client embraces his or her natal North Node of the Moon, it opens portals where concrete walls once blocked the way. Your South Node represents where you came from — in previous lifetimes and early this life. Your North Node points to your soul’s idea of purpose and success. Like magic, leaning into North Node qualities beckons positive synchronicities, flow, and opportunities. Think “best of the past” with a new, soul-approved, focus and direction. This works in health and other areas of life, so I often explore the North Node in seemingly “unrelated” types of sessions.

Having recognized this power for my clients, I’ve spent the past few years working hard to integrate my own Capricorn North Node, but not without some challenges. Read “big challenges” that involve strongly competing desires, goals, and aspects. As with clients, I knew I needed to find ways to honor that North Node while also recognizing my own quirks and ways of summoning energy. I decided to share some of my process, because it illustrates how we can take a complex chart (or competing desires) and embrace instead of run from it. When we know what and whom we’re dealing with, we can make deals that honor all involved. Even if all those aspects exist inside ourselves!

Our natal chart presents a blueprint, but how we build and decorate our lives remains up to us. As with feng shui, learning how to flow with energies and challenges of the birth design makes a huge difference in how we experience our lives: Continue reading

Some Reiki Master Teacher Questions

A version of these questions came through via email. I thought other people might be interested in the very thorough answers, too, so I’m posting an anonymous version of the questions with my replies:

I was wondering what was required of you by your Reiki Master Teacher in order for you to be attuned to that level?

Thanks for your message. I took Reiki Level 3 Master and then Reiki Level 3 Master Teacher in early 2002. These levels feature the same attunement and very similar material, but Reiki Level 3 Master Teacher focuses on how to teach the course, as well as how to give Initiation Attunements. Reiki Level 3 Master only teaches the Reiki Healing Attunement, not initiation ones. I was certified after taking both classes, but I ended up apprentice teaching for a year with my teacher, who was also my partner, and then husband.

We had both practiced other healing modalities, but I’ve found Reiki the most powerful when used regularly. My then husband had three different Reiki Master Teachers for his Level 3 training and extrapolated what he felt was most important and consistent from each of them. He had also studied with Buddhist monks, and so incorporated some of that material as background to Usui’s Buddhist heritage. When he got Lyme disease, I began teaching Reiki on my own and studied numerous Reiki books, kundalini yoga, and other healing and energy modalities.

In terms of what I require of my own Level 3 students, it depends on if it’s an in-person or private correspondence class for Reiki Level 3 Master Teacher. I stopped teaching just the plain Reiki Master Class, because I found so many students took that class not thinking they would ever teach, only to find that they now feel called to teach. They have the correct Attunement, but not the training or knowledge of Initiation Attunements. I teach Reiki Level 3 Master Teacher with the idea of “if you really want to know something, teach it.” Exploring this level through the lens of “if you were to teach Reiki 1, 2, or 3, how would you do so?” helps students to learn the material in a deeper way.

Students are certified after they complete the course, but I encourage ongoing practice, auditing of any classes I teach, and I am in process of creating some guided practice journals for both Levels 2 and 3. In-person Level 3 is usually a 1-day in person course from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a lunch break; however, I give handouts ahead of time, as well as exercises and future auditing opportunities. For private correspondence training, I offer six 1-hour long phone sessions, plus handouts, homework and practice requirements. About half my Level 3 students already received Level 3 training from a different Reiki Master Teacher, but take the training from me so that they feel much better prepared to train others.

I’ve trained many dozens of Reiki Master Teachers over the years, many who had other teachers before me, so I know that this level varies widely, both in cost and scope. I have had some students who did a year-long apprenticeship with different teachers for thousands of dollars, but in the end, they did not begin teaching on their own until training with me. I teach the Usui lineage with the Tibetan symbols, since that’s how I learned, and I find value in the Tibetan symbols. I try to strike a balance between thoroughness, some self-direction, and lower cost than a formal apprenticeship would require. Hopefully that answers your question.

Thank you for this valuable information. I guess my main question is based on what my current Reiki Master Teacher is implying and that is that I have to go thru some kind of crisis in my life in order to be attuned to Master Teacher. Is this normal with all Usui practices?

No, I wouldn’t say it’s a normal requirement. The Initiation Attunements are like telling the Universe, “I’m ready for the next level. I’m committed to this next level.” If you don’t have resistance, then things just open up in a natural way. Sometimes people have resistance, or old things come up that make the need for change obvious. It can occur before or after initiation, and many times initiation to Level 3 is more of a confirmation of being on path. I do not require anyone to have a crisis in order to be initiated. Embracing ones path usually helps to avoid crises, or at least make the most of them if they arrive anyway. 🙂

Applying to take Reiki Master Teacher training through me requires at least Reiki Level 2 Certification, plus some back and forth emailing to make sure I feel you’re ready and that we’re a good student-teacher fit.

About Those Triggers…

This February 2016 post wants to go up again. I can only marvel at the timing of the original post in my own life — just one week before I returned to PA to support my father’s passing and moving my mom into a whole new life. Doing so required me to assess who would thrive with my help, and who would not, because I could not be all things to everyone. That period also placed me in financial meetings under fluorescent lights for many hours per day, coordinating with contractors, realtors, funeral directors, church officials, extended family members, attorneys, and perfume wearing/chemical spraying in-home health care providers for my dad, mostly apart from David, and with minimal time for my usual high vibe foods. In short, 2016 was pretty much every personal trigger on steroids with surround sound and strobe lights!

But 2016 also brought things to a head for me and directly led to our relocation from Goshen to Kalamazoo. Despite all the in my face triggers and massive work in PA, I realized I did not miss Goshen (not even my huge garden) even a tiny bit. I also realized that I could not overextend myself to that level again. In the six months it took me to recover from my eight weeks in PA, David and I reassessed EVERYTHING. We decided to get married, and to move. Step by step, we righted the ship. It’s not that the previous ship was so wrong; it had felt right at the time, and we grew massive amounts in our five years in Goshen. The perfect storm of triggers just confirmed that we had served our time and were ready to expand in unknown ways. We now find ourselves so grateful and excited for our entire journey, especially what lies ahead.

I share this now, because I know many people feel triggered on many levels right now. We don’t develop equally across all areas of life at the exact same pace. If you find yourself triggered, or find clusters of triggers in your face, recognize the opportunities trying to present themselves. As Einstein said, “We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.” What makes your soul laugh or cry? What makes your soul sing? Deal with the tears, but allow yourself to follow the song and laughter. Peace!

With the veils continuing to thin, lots of people are getting “triggered” these days. This post is a short reminder of the choices a trigger moment presents:

  1. Time for Shadow Work: If you see, read, hear or experience something that gives you an extremely intense, possibly over-reaction or makes you feel like a victim, then it’s time to root around in the dark closet of your own psyche to find discarded, rejected, disowned or falsely portrayed parts of yourself. These might be beliefs you took on to please others but that do not allow you to live an authentic life. They might be past life issues bleeding through to this time around and distorting your perspective. They might be gifts you learned to hide because you didn’t know how to manage them. In any case, Shadow Work pays big dividends. You can find a lot of articles on…
