The Blue Room

I learned this technique from my favorite astrologer/numerologist/tarot reader and generally amazing friend, Timothy Glenn, but it’s so effective, I wanted to share it with all of you!

Anyone who has followed this blog, watched my videos or had sessions with me knows how much I love the Sat Yam Meditation as a method for releasing grief, anger, frustration, and/or fear, whether from this life or other lifetimes. Well, Tim has given me another tool to share with you. It’s called “The Blue Room,” and it works well for any relationship that you suspect old karmic ties may be influencing. As a past life reader, I’d have to add here that MOST relationships at this time have some sort of karmic tug to them. So many of us are here to finish and release old business that it’s pretty safe to say all your close family, friends and work relationships have some sort of karmic something affecting them.

The nice thing about The Blue Room meditation is that it does not involve “cutting” cords or ties. Rather, it functions as an energy exchange and rebalancing. So many karmic techniques involve actually cutting old ties, and sometimes we don’t want someone completely out of our lives. Sometimes we just want to love them … now … without all the past life craziness. The Blue Room allows this to happen in a graceful, gentle way.

Instructions: simply imagine yourself in a blue room. Blue floor, blue ceiling, blue lamps, blue furniture … blue everything …

Blue Room

To be completely accurate, this photo would need to feature blue flowers, but it was the closest image I could find on short notice and I’m not a Photoshop guru! Anyway, you get the idea: BLUE. Surround yourself with blue.

Next, tune in to whomever you want to invite into the room and welcome them to a blue seat. In your mind’s eye, calmly and sincerely explain to them that you would love to live in balance with them from now on. Tell them that you will be reclaiming any karmic energy of yours that has seeped into their being and that you will be returning any karmic energy of theirs that has seeped into yours. Perform the exchange and know that in doing so, you are ACTUALLY changing and rebalancing the relationship “in real life.” You can hug the person or just let them go. Whatever needs to happen will happen, and this does not necessarily mean they will disappear from your life. More than likely, the relationship will deepen.

You can use this technique for individuals or you can create a huge room for groups of people you have less intense relationships with but want to ensure they remain/become balanced.

I do a LOT of past life work, on myself and certainly in sessions. I’ve found many tools, but this is one of the easiest for people to use on their own. Sometimes people still “need” to hear the story or circumstances in order to let go of an ancient trauma, in which case, please do feel free to set up a session. I just love to empower people as much as possible.

Thanks to Tim for sharing this wonderful technique. He’s my astrologer/numerologist/tarot reader of choice and also, coincidentally, the inspiration and information source for Tom Brown in the Schizandra Series.

Door Number 11 (The Star Card)

The Star Card/Door Number 11 by Laura Bruno

Door Number 11 was another commissioned piece at a secret location. As far as portals go, this one involved more prep time than usual. The patron wanted energy of the surrounding pristine forests embedded into the door itself, which required this Chicago artist to spend a week hiking and relaxing in some of the most gorgeous country I’ve ever seen. Yes, it was heavenly and a welcome change of scenery. 🙂

Before I paint a commissioned portal, I always spend some time gethering a sense of what the patron needs and wants in life right now and in the future. Many times, but not always, those hopes and intentions suggest a tarot card to me, and I research different artistic interpretations already “out there.” Then I spend time in the actual home, noting style, colors, and overall “feel.” I also like to get people talking about whatever feeds their souls — do they return again and again to particular images, myths or cultures? If so, I try to work some of those into the door, honoring the original energy of the tarot card, but personalizing it.

If a patron has dreams or synchronicities while I’m painting, I pay particular attention to those, as well as my own dreams and nudges. In the case of Door Number 11, the patron dreamt of the back mantra and also requested “faery energy” on the door. I opted to change the typical nude woman into a faery, and we were both pleased with the results. I then used Runes to code the door’s textures and threshold to exactly those elements most important to the patron’s healing and intentions. For confidentiality reasons, I am not explaining ALL the details of this door, but the patron is happy to share the image and some of the explanation with the world. We hope you enjoy the portal!

The Star card is number 17 in the tarot deck and it usually features a nude woman with two urns. From one urn she pours water into a pond and from the other onto the land. Because of the urns, this card is associated with Aquarius, “the water bearer,” as well as the Age of Aquarius and its connection to the astrology and the stars. The card features eight eight-pointed stars, which correspond to an ancient Masonic symbol, l’etoile flamboyante. One thing I feel called to share in these portals is a reclaiming of ancient symbols, including Runes and symbols that may have been appropriated by groups or organizations using them for personal gain. I’m not singling out the Masons here, btw, just explaining what appears to be a broader intention of these doors — helping people to reclaim powerful tools, which have been taken away, hidden (occult means hidden) or otherwise denied access. Tarot, Runes, Sacred Geometry, Numerology, Astrology and other symbols or systems that speak to the subconscious do not belong to any one particular group. Part of our shift on this planet involves lightworkers reclaiming the tools at their disposal.

In any case, the eight eight-pointed stars carry much significance. Among other things: 8 x 8 = 64; 64 codons to human DNA; 64 possible readings in the I Ching; 64 squares on a chess board; and 64 is an important and common number represented in binary code.

The Star Card often shows and Ibis in a tree as reference to the Egyptian God, Thoth; however, the patron doesn’t resonate with that tradition. We opted instead for a dragonfly, which carries both personal and universal signficance.

As with all commissioned doorways, the thresholds are also coded to specific intentions. Thresholds offer potent energy, existing as they do “in the spaces between”:

As mentioned earlier, the other side of Door Number 11 came from the patron’s dream, as well as some of my own dream symbols. The mantra, “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudeevaya” strengthens the aura and seemed like an appropriate one for inside a meditation and healing room. It translates roughly to: O my Lord, the all-pervading Personality of Godhead, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You.

I had fun painting the symbol, which morphed from an intended Flower of Life mandala into one expressing the Trinity:

Door Number 11 holds a special place in my heart, especially since 11 is my own life path number and because I also resonate strongly with faeries. I completed Door Number 12 in the same home and will post photos of that one soon. Thanks to everyone who finds these portal journeys fun as well. Full Moon Musings on Light and Love

Happy Pisces Full Moon in Virgo! Having just returned from three weeks in pristine forests while painting portals, I’m in a rather dreamy state myself, only amplified by Mercury Retrograde and all that watery Pisces and earthy Virgo energy. This entire post is just an offering of musings on light and love. Blessings, peace and courage to each of you.

Laura Bruno, Tree Hugger

I received this as a forwarded email from a friend of mine. It, in turn, is extracted from a longer email by Mike Quinsey, channeling “SaLuSa from Sirius”:

“Dear Ones, let it be said that before you dropped down into the lower vibrations, you were fully aware of your origin as a Spark of God. That was so long ago that it cannot be spoken of in linear terms, as initially you were not in a physical body such as you have now. However, intelligent life forms have been on Earth for millions of years during which the Earth has become a prison planet, where for various reasons souls have been sent to it. As a result you have become quite a mixture of souls, from the unmanageable who exploited the dark energies, to those who have brought the Light with them. What has ensued for millennia of time is constant battles between the dark and Light to control the Earth. Each have had periods when they have been the dominant force, and gradually the Light has emerged as the victor. However, this was not before the dark Ones virtually achieved their plan for total world control, and the slavery of Mankind.

“In fact the Light moves in mysterious ways that the dark Ones have not detected. They have no answers when it is present, and cannot handle its powerful energy. At best they try to induce fear and lower the vibrations, but all that does it provide a temporary respite. The Light can transmute the dark, but not the reverse. Therefore every soul that understands the powerful weapon they carry need not fear the dark Ones. When you also apply the Law of Attraction, the Light wins hands down and is drawing immense amounts of Light from around the Universe. The Light is love and if you can maintain your place as a channel for it, you will helping ground it upon Earth. It comes down to how much you can transmute the dark energy, thereby reducing the need for Mother Earth to carry out a major cleansing. You are blessed with freewill, and this is why what you do has a great bearing on how the end times work out. However, it will not in any way alter the resultant victory for the Light…”

This email has sparked several discussions with friends and clients today, and falls within context of an ongoing lightning strike upon this planet. It reaches deeply into the question of free will: how much can we or should we “interfere” with another person’s spiritual process? In Reiki classes and in sessions with other “lightworkers” aka “healers,” this is a major question. What do we do with people struggling around us? How do we accept their process even if it’s slower or ineffectual or not what we would choose? How do we accept someone’s choice not to heal cancer? Not even to try? How do we accept someone’s choice to run away from hsi or her own light? Where do we draw the line of what’s ok to share or not share?

This is an ongoing debate, and I don’t claim to have a definitive answer. Earth is, however, a free will planet. We each have the option in each moment to choose light or choose darkness. To choose love or choose fear. The trouble is that light and love are both “invasive forces.” There really is no darkness; it is simply the absense of light. There really is no fear; it is simply the absense of love. Nature abhors a vacuum. The natural movement is one of filling darkness with light and filling fear with love. In that sense, restraining your own light and love in order to “honor” someone else’s darkness and fear, does not offer a long term solution. It requires work that goes against nature. Eventually, natural law will win.

People have grown fond of my occasional email correspondence turned blog post. Here’s an excerpt from an exchange this morning regarding the very issue of free will and the internal struggle of light vs. darkness. My response follows:

“When I see you in that struggle my instinct with every fiber of my being is just to blast you with light. Sorry. I just have so much light wanting to flood through me all the time that when I see something dark the light flowing through me just wants to flood into the dark like the crack of light that seeps in beneath a door or through splits in the wood or through the key hole.

“I can’t help myself unless I put some kind of shield (read: airtight prison) around me. My light just wants to let loose and go everywhere at once. That’s how I’ve always been. I’m not trying to take over your life or the environment. It’s the light that won’t be contained.”

The response to my words indicated an acceptance and welcoming of the light, so long as it came without judgment of the darkness or the battle. Like it or not, the 3D world offers shadows — the chiaroscuro of light and dark. Form brings boundaries and contrasts, unlike those found in the strictly spiritual realm of light.

I personally enjoy boundaries, shadows and forms. They give life to things, create new forms and offer challenges to creativity. I am reminded of Jesus’ words to his disciples, “Be in this world but not of it.” “Let your light so shine.” That last instruction also reminds me of the little Sunday School ditty:

“This little light of mine,
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine,
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine,
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.

Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.”

It also reminds me of Mikao Usui, credited with rediscovering Reiki. He spent seven years healing people in “The Beggars City” but found, to his vast disappointment, that people he had healed opted to return to their sick or injured state. Attached to the concept of everyone accepting and embracing the light available to them, Usui grew despondent. He talked it over with the head of his monastery and decided on a new approach.

Instead of trying to fix everyone, he began walking around with a lit torch in the middle of the day. People looked at him like he was crazy and asked him why. He would respond, “I’m glad you asked. This is the light and it’s in you. If you’re interested, I’ll be speaking about it later tonight.” Those who wanted to learn showed up, and he trained many students that way … just having them follow him around and mimicking his light and energy until they rediscovered their own.

Ghandi put it this way, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I say, “Be the light. Be the love.” It doesn’t need to be directed at anything or anyone specific. This planet and universe are crying out for healing. Whatever you feel called to love, love. Get your glow on. In fact, it’s already on, but some of us are hiding it more cleverly than others. We can’t hide it forever, though. As Schizandra says at the end of the Gates of Mu, “The days are coming when the time is now.”

Namaste.

Garden of the Soul

Today I have the honor of bringing to you a beautifully written guest blog post by Reiki Level 2 Practitioner Jessica Sine. As many of you know, I am fascinated by humanity’s opportunity to “return to the Garden.” Jess captures this world transition in a very personal way. I hope you enjoy her creative process as much as I did. 🙂

Garden of the Soul
By Jessica Sine

I’m weeding the garden of my soul. There is so much growth here my mind doesn’t know where to begin. I’ve contemplated where to start long enough. In the dizzying effects of swirling thought, I surrender and drop to my knees where I am. It’s as good a place as any. Feeling around, I grab and pull, shredding and ripping anything in my reach. I’m angry. I am angry and frustrated and tired. The answers and solutions I’ve sought in contemplation have not come to my consciousness. Outwardly now, the sweat is rolling down my face and arms and back. I heave a great sob, and choke on the tightness in my throat. I pause a moment and in that silence, I feel the hurricane of raw emotion bubbling from the depths. Heart beating loudly, my whole body pulses with this pause before the storm. As my head drops to my chest, fists clench at the thick growth under me. It is time.

A ferocious howl of every emotion ever felt reaches my ears from what seems like miles away. Now, this moment, I evolve through a maelstrom of physical and emotional exertion. I unleash and release every last ounce – tearing wildly at everything in my path – the breaking weeds of my mind sound like trees being ripped from the ground by unnatural forces. The anguished cries, wrenched from my own lips, are clawing at me – setting my nerves on fire and driving me into an even more destructive frenzy. I’m plowing through the thick, dense mass of weeds, sparing none. Finally, erratic motions slow as only dirt and loose debris are captured in my grasping hands. And then, as quickly as it began, it ends.

Lying in child pose, my forehead in the dirt, sweat, tears, and snot covering much of my body, the last few sobs escape my throat. Shaking arms push me upward as swollen eyes survey this garden. At wit’s end, I did not consider saving anything. The ground around me is ravaged and broken. I am still. I lie down and stare up into space. Completely empty and physically drained – there is nothing. I am space.

A presence – warm and cool and simply everywhere falls over me like a soft blanket of snow. Except this presence seeps through me and becomes all that exists. I am compelled to look to one side and am startled to find tiny green sprouts in intricate patterns radiating out from my body. After the illusion of a long time, I am turning my head back to look into space again, but am drawn to my chest. And there, climbing out of my heart is a beautiful sapling, and a small brook, and some fish. A knowing surfaces – that presence is my heart. It has opened and spilled forth with pure love. My heart is everything and everything is my heart. And a mind I barely recognize emerges from this space like a delicate flower. I am this garden.

(Thanks again to Jessica for letting me post this. You can follow her on Facebook here.)

Sacred Geometry Readings

As a special for August 2010, I’ve decided to offer something old in a newer form:

Sacred Geometry Oracle Card readings for the entire month of August. These are twenty-minute readings based on Francene Hart’s Sacred Geometry Oracle Deck, with additional interpretation from my own studies of ancient and modern symbols.

I wanted to offer something at a lower price point, and coaching clients have found the occasional mid-session Sacred Geometry reading very insightful. $55 per 20-minute
reading. Sessions must be purchased by August 31 but can be used after that date.
