Gardens and Travels

The light’s begun to shift, and autumn colors appear in blooms, if not on leaves yet. Last Saturday afternoon, my friend Paula and I went to Meijer Sculpture Gardens. She grew up in Michigan and is even more of a CPL (Crazy Plant Lady) than I am. When she told me she’d never visited the gardens, I knew we had to go together. We logged over 4 miles just wandering around the art, plants and trees. So much fun and so much beauty! This gorgeous amaranth amidst sunflowers, squash and corn made me so happy:

Back at Dra’Faven, we also see hints of Fall. The sedum has just begun to blush … Continue reading

Heads Up for Dog Lovers

During a short but wonderful visit this past weekend with David’s daughter Allie, she alerted me to a deadly dog situation where she lives in Austin. Toxic blue green algae blooms in fresh water can cause dogs who swim in or drink it to die within 30-60 minutes. Only after several dogs died did the city post notices in known areas. I mentioned to her how I’ve found homeopathic remedies the fastest acting in dire emergencies and sent her the following link:

https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/blue-green-algae-risks-to-dogs/

The link shares supplies to have on hand, symptoms, as well as a protocol if you suspect your dog has had contact with toxic blue green algae. It also contains a map with a shocking number of US locations with known toxicity. Since I do quite a few appointments for clients facing the sudden death of a loved one — whether human or animal companion — I feel led to share this link. The fast acting blue green algae toxins often do not even allow time to get to a vet, let alone begin treatment there.

I cannot give medical advice, but as a medical intuitive, I’ll just say that the supplies, remedies and precautions listed in this link ring true to me. If you have a beloved canine friend, you might want to give it a read. Here’s hoping this information offers many more happy years with your loyal friend(s).

Much love,

Laura

Interview on “The Unseen” with Mike Clelland: Healing, owls and UFO’s with Laura Bruno

IMG_8729

I’m so excited that Mike Clelland has this entire interview posted online! (Originally, it was only going to be the first half for everyone and then the second half for members of the Unknown Country website. It does have some sponsorship ads, which you can fast forward over. I’m just happy for Mike making it available to more people.)

I loved this conversation! Between this interview, his research for my chapter in his book, Stories from the Messengers, our email exchanges, and some other phone conversations, Mike has a way of getting information out of normally very private me.

The interview begins with a story I’ve told many times — how I got into doing Medical Intuitive readings — but then we go places I don’t normally talk about in a public way. We cover some of my experiences with owls, precognitive dreams, and even a very rarely told UFO/lightning strike story.

Then we get into Reiki, astrology and life path topics, both mine and Mike’s. He happens to be living his life path, which includes doing these very deep sorts of interviews. I always enjoy interacting with Mike, but every single time, I have to laugh afterwards: “I told him what?!” This interview is no exception. It has things in it that I had literally thought, “If I ever share this, it will be in thirty years.” Haha, joke’s on me: that Mike Clelland knows how to get the information out of me!

Anyway, here’s the interview. It’s pretty wild, but I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Some Timeline Stories

This post wants to go up again. Especially for persistent blockages, health issues or sticky patterns, I find timeline shifts some of the most efficient, fun and yes, sometimes unnerving, ways to experience lasting change. Recognizing the signs and possibilities allows you to live with more opportunities and awareness.

Laura Bruno's Blog

In light of this month’s special, “Timeline Tune-in and Tune-Up,” I found the following two posts rather interesting on RMN. These are readers’ stories of apparent timeline shifts, and I will say that I’ve had very similar things happen to me.

One of the most maddening examples occurred in Madison, during a period of a lot of chaos with the Collective Timeline. David and I returned from Willy St. Co-Op with a bag of carrots, which I put into the crisper drawer in the refrigerator. Later that night, I felt the Collective Timeline shift and mentioned this fact to David. The next morning, I could not for the life of me find those carrots!

Then, about a week later, I felt the Collective Timeline shift back to the one we had been on before. I don’t know why I notice such things, but I do. They’re quite palpable…

Lyme Journal Questions and Feedback

Because a number of clients and regular blog readers purchased Lyme Journal: A Guided Recovery Workbook, I’ve received some personalized feedback and questions during sessions and via email. Two people gave me permission to share since others may have similar questions or experiences.

Reader Mia tried to leave a review on Amazon, but apparently, Amazon only lets you leave a review if you’ve spent $50 on their site in the past 12 months. For most people, this issue never arises, but I understand and support people who do not normally shop on Amazon. It just offered the easiest way for me to release this journal/guidebook in a timely manner. Mia forwarded me her intended review to post here:

The ‘Lyme Journal’ is a wonderful healing support for people on a Lyme journey. Laura Bruno has been working with people who have Lyme for years now, (myself included) and her dedication to this particular group of under recognized and often invisibly ill people, is admirable and much needed.

This book contains pages with questions for self inquiry, insight, revelation and creativity. Most of each page is blank, to journal your response to each question.

I’ve been using it, and find that my responses come quite easily, as if they were just waiting to be asked! And I joyfully read what I’ve written, my heart touched, with a delight, love and appreciation, in how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learned through this cursed/blessed experience. To look at this tremendously harrowing and debilitating illness through the lens of the heroine’s journey, is the most rewarding liberating and enlightening way…and helps to celebrate a blessing in disguise.

It’s also a great resource for people with limited resources and support. I highly recommend this book, and many thanks to Laura.

Old Friends and New Eyes

This week brought dear friends to visit whom I’ve known since 2001, back in my Seattle days. We took our Reiki Master Teacher training together in 2002, and they are among a very small set of people I still know from my brain injury days. When we met, we soon realized we had lived on the same block in Evanston, IL … but two years apart. Unbeknownst to us at the time, Wendy also lived in New York City back in my pre-TBI days when I traveled there every other week for work. Our lives have mixed and almost matched all over the country for decades.

The Hess family moved outside Charlottesville, VA about 17 years ago, and David and I saw artist and engineer, Bill Hess, a few years ago when we still lived in Goshen, IN, while taking care of David’s parents. Bill passed through en route to a glass installation in Michiana, but I hadn’t seen Wendy Vigdor-Hess for 14 years! Bill and a newly pregnant Wendy drove up to PA on one my trips to Bethlehem when I still lived in Tahoe. It was so great to meet their children — Sol and Thea — in person.

We had a whirlwind two-day visit on their way to a long weekend in Chicago. Above, you can see us all in Muskegon, Michigan, where Bill and Wendy got engaged so many years ago. We actually got to see the very spot. I’ve talked with Wendy on the phone during those 14 years apart, but it’s always so much fun when in-person visits just pick right up as though no time at all has passed. Continue reading

Reiki for Smooth Travels

This is a great share from my dear friend, most amazing massage therapist, former Reiki student and now empowering Reiki Master Teacher herself, Pamela Hipp. Everything she shares here is so true.

My last trip to PA reminded me of the perfect timing of a Reiki-delayed flight, too. Because my connecting flight got delayed, I received an emergency email from a lovely UK woman with a dying dog. The vet had told her to prepare for the worst, because nothing was working at all, but she thought to sent one “desperate” email to me. Reiki, prayer, and intuition allowed me to send her the key suggestion that turned things around for her dog, just before UK stores closed for the day. Had I gotten on the flight as scheduled, we would have missed this opportunity. Her miracle dog is happy and doing well now after a very near brush with death.

The few times I’ve forgotten to Reiki my return trip have been a comedy of errors until I ask, “WHAT is going on?!” Then I remember, “Oops, forgot to Reiki this leg of my trip.” Within moments of sending Reiki — literally — everything clicks back into magical, synchronous place. Reiki makes traveling so much fun.

Blessings on your trip, Pamela, and thanks for sharing!

Luminous Heart Reiki & Massage

Pamela: Whenever I plan a trip, I use the long-distance symbol to send Reiki ahead and smooth the way.

Karen: Can you really feel the Reiki when you arrive?

Pamela: No, not really. But my experience has been that I everything is easy and effortless when I prepare with Reiki.

Today is the perfect example. (Synchronicity abounds when Reiki is flowing!) My trip to the airport could not have been any more magical than it was. Generally I have to transfer trains downtown (which is a bit stressful as it’s crowded and hectic) but today the train I started on went straight through.

Someone offered to lift my giant suitcase up the steep steps. (As an empowered, independent woman, I am fully capable of schlepping my own luggage. And as an awakening goddess, I am delighted to accept ALL the assistance the universe provides!) There was…
