The Blue Room

I learned this technique from my favorite astrologer/numerologist/tarot reader and generally amazing friend, Timothy Glenn, but it’s so effective, I wanted to share it with all of you!

Anyone who has followed this blog, watched my videos or had sessions with me knows how much I love the Sat Yam Meditation as a method for releasing grief, anger, frustration, and/or fear, whether from this life or other lifetimes. Well, Tim has given me another tool to share with you. It’s called “The Blue Room,” and it works well for any relationship that you suspect old karmic ties may be influencing. As a past life reader, I’d have to add here that MOST relationships at this time have some sort of karmic tug to them. So many of us are here to finish and release old business that it’s pretty safe to say all your close family, friends and work relationships have some sort of karmic something affecting them.

The nice thing about The Blue Room meditation is that it does not involve “cutting” cords or ties. Rather, it functions as an energy exchange and rebalancing. So many karmic techniques involve actually cutting old ties, and sometimes we don’t want someone completely out of our lives. Sometimes we just want to love them … now … without all the past life craziness. The Blue Room allows this to happen in a graceful, gentle way.

Instructions: simply imagine yourself in a blue room. Blue floor, blue ceiling, blue lamps, blue furniture … blue everything …

Blue Room

To be completely accurate, this photo would need to feature blue flowers, but it was the closest image I could find on short notice and I’m not a Photoshop guru! Anyway, you get the idea: BLUE. Surround yourself with blue.

Next, tune in to whomever you want to invite into the room and welcome them to a blue seat. In your mind’s eye, calmly and sincerely explain to them that you would love to live in balance with them from now on. Tell them that you will be reclaiming any karmic energy of yours that has seeped into their being and that you will be returning any karmic energy of theirs that has seeped into yours. Perform the exchange and know that in doing so, you are ACTUALLY changing and rebalancing the relationship “in real life.” You can hug the person or just let them go. Whatever needs to happen will happen, and this does not necessarily mean they will disappear from your life. More than likely, the relationship will deepen.

You can use this technique for individuals or you can create a huge room for groups of people you have less intense relationships with but want to ensure they remain/become balanced.

I do a LOT of past life work, on myself and certainly in sessions. I’ve found many tools, but this is one of the easiest for people to use on their own. Sometimes people still “need” to hear the story or circumstances in order to let go of an ancient trauma, in which case, please do feel free to set up a session. I just love to empower people as much as possible.

Thanks to Tim for sharing this wonderful technique. He’s my astrologer/numerologist/tarot reader of choice and also, coincidentally, the inspiration and information source for Tom Brown in the Schizandra Series.

  1. Dear Laura,

Thank you for sharing these tools with us. I’m so glad you did. I intend on using both. I’m sure many will feel the same way.

PS Have so enjoyed the door journeys…this has been a wonderful expression for you and because you are sharing we get to have a peak as well.

    All the best and OX,
    Dawn

Thanks for stopping by, Dawn! Good to “hear” your voice. :) Many blessings and much love …

  3. Thanks Laura :-] I would love to hear a more detailed explanation of the returning and reclaiming of karmic energy from one to another. I did this yesterday and proceeded as my intuition led me as for that step in the process. I thought that’s what you meant but wasn’t sure.

Sounds like you’ve made a good start. It really depends on what kind of energy has been switched and lodged … some will be more intense than others. It’s more of an intention that things just return to their natural state. :)

  5. I see. Thanks Laura.

  6. Laura, what a powerful technique. I incorporated Moon Flower (although white, she reflected the BLUE of the room and the Blue Lotus essential oil. When I first read your Blog on Blue Room, I excitedly shared it on Facebook and was anticipating inviting one particular person into the room on my first encounter. Within 2 seconds, this person responded on my post and made reference to the U2 song, Your Blue Room – which was both perfect and errie. I responded by communicating that He was my first invite and requesting that he join me. After some deep and awesome chatting with others, he appeared again and agreed. So perfectly planned and presented. I love how the connection with you is empowering my own journey. I love how by trusting in your guidance, I have found a renewed power in my own guidance. I love as I journey through this incredible life of magic and sacred awe, I know I have friends to turn to for wise and incredible advice! Shanti, Shanti, Shanti!

I naturally lately feel the blue room for myself believe it or not. I feel a sense of great peace for my grandmothers passing last wk.

I really need to place some people in this room.

Noone at work seems to be there?

    I guess I can’t force it?

  10. Posted by laurabruno on September 26, 2010 at 1:14 am

Just imagine them there, but no, don’t force it. :)

  11. Thank you so much for this meditation, I am using it and finding it truly great.

I have passed it onto a few people too and am linking to it in an upcoming newsletter.

I practiced the blue room technique last night and had a great surge of energy run through me that left me giddy I only focused on one individual. Today I did it one by one with three different people. I have to say I feel calm but with a loss of energy from it. Can you help me to understand why? Maybe each time I do it I will only focus on one person.

    Thank you

    Hi CW,
Thanks for the question. The Blue Room tends to work best with individuals if you have a lot of intense feelings/attachments about those people. It works well with groups if there is less intensity, but for the really intense feelings, individually tends to work best. It’s also possible that the imbalance of energy went the other way with some of the people with whom you exchanged, i.e. you may have taken on a greater amount from them over the lifetimes than they have from you. The goal of the Blue Room is a return to balance.
    Blessings,
    Laura

  14. Hello,
You have been posting for so long I doubt I will ever catch up. The two post I have read are intelligent, and inspiring. So I will look deeper into this blog.
The Blue Room sounds like a very healing experience. I, however, cannot go down that path until I’ve had a dream from the angels permitting it. So I read as an outsider unable to join.

I definitely encourage people to use their own discernment. Read and participate at your own pace. :)

Thank you again for sharing this. I have done this meditation with the person in question several times and it continues to feel right to me. Like you said, many times we don’t want the person in our life gone, we just want to love them in this life without all the past life craziness. The people who were advising me to cut cords and burn soul contracts probably meant well and at the time based on what I was telling them (one-sided and ego-based), it was logical advice. But the actual practice of these things felt even more traumatic and out of synch with what my heart really wanted. All that was needed was simply healing and rebalancing as you described. So in the midst of this, I have not only learned to listen to my heart and trust myself even more, but I’ve learned a valuable way to transmute and transform, rather than cut, destroy, and banish. Looking forward to positive changes!

Yes! Cord cutting is effective when there truly is an inappropriate and narcissistic drain of energy/light, but for most relationships, there’s an ebb and flow and intermingling of energies. For those, The Blue Room often becomes more effective, as it aligns with the heart’s desires. :)

I wanted to share an amazing transformative tool & experience. This personally dovetails on much that has been unfolding for me over the last few days, maybe even weeks. So without going into long detail, let me just offer the tool and you’ll know if you want to explore as I did.
First, I started with Laura Bruno’s Blue Room Meditation. Last night before bed, while holding 2 heart shaped pieces of jasper two dear friends gifted me and small pieces of rough ruby & emerald that “Raph” suggested might assist me with my abundance manifestation… I went into mediation, inviting in my guides, etc. ultimately making my physical life experience here & NOW into a “blue room”. That’s right. Then I invited both my ego/mind and heart into the space. After a period of time I discussed what they had both brought to my experience and asked that my ego/mind now allow my heart to take the lead. It had done well, and in appreciation for all it has offered, it was now time for it to allow another to lead. Those who are students of A Course in Miracles will particularly appreciate this, I think. I really put my heart into this and truly felt a shift.
THIS MORNING, I went into the same space, this time however, inviting in all of the karma, drama, experiences, etc. of ALL my lives; past, present & future, in all dimensions and all realities. It was a crowded space! Again in a loving, acknowledging and gratitude-filled way, I asked Archangel Michael to escort out of the blue “true” me all of the karmic drama (from everywhere mentioned earlier), while leaving behind the lessons and understandings without any attachment or judgement — releasing ALL FEAR. Leaving behind only LOVE, JOY, PEACE, FREEDOM, ABUNDANCE…. and more to come with grace and ease. I stayed in this later space a long time just blissed out focused on being Love-FULL and Fear-LESS!
Coming out of it, it took me at least an hour to get grounded. Huge stuff has shifted, and it feels like it is still ongoing 3 1/2 hours later… like a DNA shift. I am breathing different. So, I had to share. Hugs to all of you who I adore so very much! ~(sent to me by Vi)

Wow. Just wanted to say thank you for this tool. I had been searching for a way to find closure on some karmic ties in my life with out having to remove the people from my life. I felt this was very personal and wanted to do this on my own vs.going through someone else. This was a very powerful meditation. I started with the people I wanted closure with but that the ties weren’t so so strong. I felt good when it was done but felt one of the people came with reservations and didn’t want to let me go like I did them . I will cont to work on that one. I then tried this with a man in my life who has very very strong karmic ties with me. I immediately felt willingness&gratitude on his part to participate with me. It was soooo emotional as both of felt scared to lose each other. I cried during the meditation. We finished (I say we because I truly felt he was there with me) and were able in meditation to end in a loving and passionate way. I felt very lightheaded and almost drunk afterwards. I was very physically exhausted and had to rest awhile. I really am glad I did this and look forward to my “new” and “present” relationship with this person. Does this mean, from your experience that I was successful? It certainly was powerful.

  28. Yes, it sounds like you’ve moved some energy! Sometimes people end up doing the Blue Room multiple times with the same person if there is a lot of energy between them. It depends on whether or not the process feels complete, or if it was just so intense that you needed to take a break. You’ll have some clues of the completion as time goes by.

    Blessings and continued healing, Laura

  30. This sounds like a great meditation and something I need to do with at least one person I can think of. Thank you for sharing.:)

Hi, I just did this meditation for the first time and it came very easily to me. The person I wanted to meet in the room came to me with no hesitation. However, as I was telling him that I would love to live in balance and was reclaiming my karmic energy, I began to cry. Everything else went great except for the crying. Coming out the meditation, I cried a lot as well. Does anyone have any experience with this or can explain the tears?

  33. Posted by Cristina on June 24, 2013 at 8:32 am

I am Hellenic and believe in past lives. I believe I may have Arachnaphobia and Hydrophobia, and Galeophobia due to events in a past life. I frequently have nightmares of oceans and sharks. At an aquarium once my Mom made me walk to the shark tank and I hated it. My legs shook, my throat felt lumpy, my breathing was abnormal, and my heart was racing like crazy. If I’d been in the water with it I’d have had a heart attack and died. I have Cerebral Palsy so I have to walk with a walker, I’m average looking, and I’m an outcast. One of my best friends is a very attractive and popular guy. We’ve been friends since we met five years ago and I’ve loved him for four. Since we met he has been extremely nice. Many people think he has a crush on me and my gut says so too. I can sense when he’s in a room without having any clue that he would be. When I look up he is the first person I see. When we’re in the same room he always makes and keeps eye contact with me. When I say hello to him he looks at me, smiles, and replies. When my friends do, he grunts or ignores them completely and walks away. Sometimes he looks irritated that they speak to him even though they’re very nice girls. I am the only unpopular person he is friends with and I don’t know why. He’s called me pretty 4 times and cute once and he always tries to make me have a higher self esteem. He won’t insult my friends around me and he stands up for me when others pick on me, even if they are his friends. He remembered my name before we became friends and knew how to spell it correctly. Weird since a lot of people don’t do either. Other unpopular girls crush on and/or lust for him (depending on girl) and try to tell him lies about me so he’ll stop being my friend. Luckily he knows they’re up to something and that I’m honest so he listens to me instead. My friends try to befriend him through me and some are prettier than me but he isn’t interested. When I tell him he laughs and says they’re weird and that he doesn’t care and I laugh too. I’ve never known why he’s so special to me, I’ve always said “There’s just something about him.” One year he was dating an annoying girl and the three of us had a class together. He talked to me every day and smiled the whole time. She always stared at us and looked mad. I read this blog and it made me wonder if he and I may have been friends in a past life as well. Because he cares about me a lot. No other jocks are nice to me or any girl that’s not preppy. I’m the only unpopular girl he smiles at, stares at, protects, talks to, teases (in a friendly way), stands close to willingly, helps when I don’t understand something, compliments, and cares about. He tells me things that he won’t tell others, and he’s always happy when he speaks to me. Like I mentioned before, if a friend of mine talks he looks bothered or forces a smile, his eyes look different, and tries to end the conversation quickly. Then if he talks to me his eyes seem to light up, he smiles, he doesn’t rush to stop stop speaking, and he jokes and laughs instead of being more serious like he is with them. I’m the last one out of classes due to my slower walking pace and plain old laziness. He stayed in the room with me once, held the door open, and was smiling. His girlfriend seemed agitated and kept telling him to hurry up but he ignored her and waited for me. I’m shy, I wear all black most of the time, I don’t wear make up, and I don’t wear revealing clothes because I don’t like my body. He dislikes girls that don’t dress cute or sexy and anyone that wears black a lot because he thinks they are creepy. But yet again, I’m the only exception. I really think we must have known each other in some other life because it’s the only explanation I can think of for why we both became automatically attached to each other and for why he is so generous to me when he ignores other outsider people or makes fun of them. He even told me I’m the only person he associates with outside of his clique. I am more ecstatic when I’m around him than I am near anyone else.
