Full Moon in Cancer and North Node in Taurus ~ January 17-18, 2022

My January 2022 Forecast noted:

January 17 Full Moon in Cancer, opposite Sun conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, 6:48 p.m. Eastern. After years of orchestrated tensions and pitting of one group against another, this Full Moon in late Cancer opens the door to much needed integration. Deep love can move us beyond surface differences. In primal, natural ways, we are more alike than different.

With the Sun conjunct Pluto, light shines in the darkness. We can more easily recognize our own shame, Shadow and the ways in which we hide from intimacy. Consider how these unnatural overlays prevent us from honoring ourselves and others. How does the outside world reflect our deep, unconscious fears and/or desires?

The Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon point is:

PHASE 118 (CANCER 28°): AN INDIAN GIRL INTRODUCES HER WHITE LOVER TO HER ASSEMBLED TRIBE.

KEYNOTE: Inner rebirth through a total acceptance of the primordial values manifest in the human body and its natural functions.

What is shown here is an emotional and warm commitment to the RETURN TO NATURE which today appeals so strongly to the new generation, but which Jean Jacques Rousseau, many great Romanticists and Gauguin long ago advocated and exemplified.

In a time of divisive vitriol, we can find ourselves and each other by returning to nature. When things seem too big and too challenging for human solutions, nature offers a fresh perspective and a chance to remember our true connection to All That Is.

This theme gains momentum due to the next day’s True North Node shift from Gemini to Taurus. Gemini represents Air, while Taurus brings us down to Earth. In Gemini, we get stuck in our heads; Taurus grounds us into our bodies, reminding us that we, too, are part of the natural world. This is one of the most important transits of the entire year. My January 2022 Forecast noted:

Since May 2020, the True North Node has flitted about in Gemini. With the shift to Taurus, ideas and situations that have existed on the mental plane begin to take physical form.

In the next 18 months, collective destiny moves through a Taurus-Scorpio axis. Humanity will need to face Scorpio South Node’s power struggles, shame, abuse and karmic backlash. We can’t afford to keep crashing and burning. Rather, we’ll make slow, steady progress by taking small, tangible actions. Focus on beauty, true security, good food, and nurturing the body. Patience and persistence win the day.

January 18 True North Node enters Taurus. Newton’s First Law of Motion (also known as the Law of Inertia) explains much about the sign of Taurus: an object at rest will stay at rest, unless acted on by an outside force; an object in motion will stay in motion and on the same trajectory, unless acted on by an outside force. It takes a lot to get Taurus moving, but once in motion, autopilot kicks in. If you don’t like your current trajectory, then use today’s shift as a course correction. Align with your body, your values, and your innate sense of self-esteem. Collective energies trend more solid, tangible, safe and natural. …

We can think of this Full Moon as a 24-hour event, setting our course for the next 18 months. The Full Moon point conjuncts Asteroid Burney, which relates to “a very personal approach and its link at the collective level.” As Within, So Without. As Gandhi said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Each individual shift blazes a wider trail for the collective. Together, we can do this!
