Lyme Madness with Lori Dennis ~ Two Interviews by Catherine Grace O

I just wanted to make my many Lyme and Lyme-affected readers aware of two powerful interviews of Lori Dennis, author of “Lyme Madness.” My soon-to-be co-author of a book on healing Lyme Disease — Catherine Grace O’Connell —  has become quite the Lyme activist, interviewing many authors and leaders who raise awareness and help people heal from this truly life altering pandemic. She does this for both the Huffington Post and the newer Thrive Global, as well as supporting many Lyme survivors on Instagram. Catherine’s own harrowing journey with Lyme has made her an incredibly compassionate and powerful presence in our world today, and I can now say the same of author Lori Dennis. What a powerhouse of information and Mama Bear love!

You can find Part 1 of the interview here. Catherine and Lori discuss the differences between acute and chronic (aka “late stage”) Lyme, as well as the story of Lori’s son, Matt, for whom she did all the extensive research that became her book.

You can find Part 2 here. This interview covers mental/emotional impacts of Lyme, treatment (or lack thereof) in Canada, as well as political implications in the US and Canada.

I highly recommend both parts, as they reiterate so many of the stories and symptoms I hear from clients and blog readers.

Hi: Just on my way out, and haven’t had a chance to read the articles, but wanted to tell you (before I forget) that I saw a video awhile back about dealing with Japanese Knotwood along waterways in the US. Apparently it is a real problem…..the upside is that the author has learned that Japanese Knotwood is very helpful in treating Lyme’s Disease.

    • Thanks for your comment, Cheryl, and yes, Nature is so amazing. Japanese knotweed is a huge “problem” in Wisconsin, where Lyme Disease also runs rampant. Similarly, teasel root often grows where there are many deer, which carry the ticks that pass along Lyme Disease. Whenever an invasive “weed” arrives, we would do wise to ask why it is there. What is it telling us? Teasel root is one of the most amazing treatments for Lyme, since it works on several levels at once. Herbalist Matthew Wood has written on the amazing qualities of teasel root to fix what’s broken. The “Law of Signatures” is another thing to investigate — how herbs and foods look like the things they help, i.e. walnuts looking like brains and being filled with brain healthy Omega-3’s.

      Anyway, thanks for your comment!

  3. Hi Laura (and Catherine, of course). Thank you so much for posting the two-part interview on LYME MADNESS. We are all deeply aligned on getting this message to as many people as we can. Chronic Lyme disease is so complicated as are the political underpinnings keeping people from getting the medical treatment they need. I hope that these interviews, my book Lyme Madness, and our collective and ongoing advocacy work continue to touch, support and validate the suffering of so many.

  5. I also want to add this protocol for anyone who gets bitten by a tick. It’s from a homeopathic doctor who agreed to let me raise awareness here: https://laurabruno.wordpress.com/2014/05/12/protecting-yourself-from-lyme-disease/
