I agree with the article too, the spiritual philosophy in Star Wars is definitely flawed, and the issues the article raises have been ruminating with me in one way or another for some time. I was still in partial denial of these flaws due to childhood loyalty and affection for the films, but the final nail in the coffin of the saga’s spiritual credibility came when I watched the YouTube video “Top 10 Things Star Wars Ep. 4-6 Did Wrong”. Coming in at # 3, “The Dark Side” (20:10 – 23:50), and how the whole “anger is the path to the dark side” idea makes little sense even within the film’s own context, let alone transcendent of it. It’s a pretty devastating clip for defenders of the films, but the hammer blow is considerably lessened due to how funny it is! I’m over it now and have accepted its flaws, and am consoled by the fact that Star Wars is great on so many other levels that it doesn’t have to be perfect to be loved. 🙂 (…. but for ever more amusement keep watching the clip for # 2, how the stormtroopers go down as the most incompetent military force in the history of film, so funny!

Love this. I recall back in 2006, while participating in a “spiritual” online forum, in the psychic attack subsection, reading posts that said the victims needed to transcen fear, that this was our problem. Until one day a woman stood up and said Fear is needed! It helps us see threats. Boy howdy the fluffy bunnys did not like that. She was inundated with law of attraction analogies that actually served to bring shame upon those experiencing attacks and asking for help. She stood her ground though and taught others to neither become numb to nor fear thier emotions, but instead work with them.
The article makes an important distinction between conscious and inconscious emotions. It makes so much sense! It fleshes out and expresses so well those kernals of enlightened thoughts I observed 8 years ago. Funny how that happens.
yes, liked this article, but am troubled by another article on that website – “Is America on Hot War Footing?” abt the house resolution regarding Russia. Back to this article, I thought that part of the “crazy wisdom” tradition in Tibetan Buddhism was to use anger, fear, or other “negative” emotions as energy to be transformed or transmuted, not stifled. Course in Miracles also seemed to have this strange, disembodied quality when I looked at the book (two family members followed it in the 1970’s) – I just could never get into it and thought something was wrong with me. Remember all the cars in S California in late ’70s with “Teach Peace” and other CIM bumper stickers …
Thanks, Cindy. Yes, I’ve mentioned ACIM before on numerous occasions. I had the same experience. I picked up the book and it had that whole CIA vibe to which I have a gag reflex. I learned years later that, in fact, there were very close MKULTRA ties to the creation of that book, and the author/channel later referred to it as “that damn book.” Considering that ACIM is considered the Bible of the New Age Movement, you can see how generations have been told to stand down and just take it. Clever, really! As with any disinfo, the key lie(s) will be hidden in things that go down fast and easy as “truth.”
Would love to read the rest but do I HAVE to go to that site to read it? Is that really the original post? Did J write this? Maybe there’s actually a true original?
You can search for an original, but it won’t have the additional comments by Bamboo Waters, which I thought were good. I think it was originally posted somewhere on http://realitysandwich.com. As for other sites … I take what resonates and give no heed to the rest. Standard policy for me. Not everyone is right or wrong all the time. Search for the title and maybe you can find a version on a site that meets your approval. 🙂
