A Series of Quotes

I posted the following as a reply to a comment on last night’s “Discernment” post, but I’m bumping this list of quotes from famous Marxists into its own post. No further comment from me … just FYI in the event you’ve not studied history or revolutionary strategy. Straight from the horse’s mouth, and I don’t mean Mister Ed:

“The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.” ~Vladimir Lenin

“The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.” ~Vladimir Lenin

“The goal of socialism is communism.” ~Vladimir Lenin

“The best way to destroy the capitalist system is to debauch the currency.” ~Vladimir Lenin

“A lie told often enough becomes truth.” ~Vladimir Lenin

“A reformation means that masses of our people have reached the point of disillusionment with past ways and values. They don’t know what will work but they do know that the prevailing system is self-defeating, frustrating, and hopeless. They won’t act for change, but won’t strongly oppose those who do. The time is then ripe for revolution.” — xxii, Rules for Radicals, by Saul Alinsky

“The tenth rule of the ethics of rules and means is that you do what you can with what you have and clothe it in moral arguments. …the essence of Lenin’s speeches during this period was ‘They have the guns and therefore we are for peace and for reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns then it will be through the bullet.’ And it was.” — P.36-37, Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky

“All effective actions require the passport of morality.” — P.44, Rules for Radicals (Alinsky)

“The moment one gets into the area of $25 million and above, let alone a billion, the listener is completely out of touch, no longer really interested because the figures have gone above his experience and almost are meaningless. Millions of Americans do not know how many million dollars make up a billion.” — P.96, Rules for Radicals (Alinsky)

“The job of the organizer is to maneuver and bait the establishment so that it will publicly attack him as a ‘dangerous enemy.’ — P.100, Rules for Radicals (Alinsky)

“I have on occasion remarked that I felt confident that I could persuade a millionaire on a Friday to subsidize a revolution for Saturday out of which he would make a huge profit on Sunday even though he was certain to be executed on Monday.” — P.150 Rules for Radicals (Alinsky)

“One man with a gun can control 100 without one.” ~Vladimir Lenin

“The press should be not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer of the masses.” ~Vladimir Lenin

“When we hang the capitalists, they will sell us the rope.” ~Joseph Stalin

“One death is a tragedy. A million deaths is a statistic.” ~Joesph Stalin

“The writer is the engineer of the human soul.” ~Joseph Stalin

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record–Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 .

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman’s request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following “Current Communist Goals,” which she identifies as an excerpt from “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen:

Communist Goals
[From “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen]

1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks. [See “Who Controls the Children: Schools Deliberately Dumb Down Children“]
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [“]united force[“] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Note by Webmaster: The Congressional Record back this far has not been digitized and posted on the Internet. It will probably be available at your nearest library that is a federal repository. Call them and ask them. Your college library is probably a repository. This is an excellent source of government records. Another source are your Congress Critters. They should be more than happy to help you in this matter. You will find the Ten Planks of the Communist Manifesto interesting at this point.

This mind set only rotates the perpetrators. We need another perception and solution. Just my thought.

    • Yes, we are infinitely Creative Beings. Surely, we can come up with something new that actually works –for each of us and our communities. In a world of all possibilities, I’m just shining a little light on one of the most offered “solutions.” If people like what they see, ugly art and all, hey, have at it … but as for me:

“Just living is not enough” said the butterfly fairy, “one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower.”

Having lived in Canada for my whole life, there is no way I can accept that there is no room for socialism in society. Social democracies are rated the happiest countries in the world.

No one has to choose between health and home here and as a small business owner, I can tell you entrepreneurship is alive and thriving.

The American vilification of anything that hints at socialism is baffling to me.

It seems incredibly obvious that any extreme will cause harm. But to contend that there is no choice in how to implement different forms of government is terribly disempowering.

It’s been proven over and over again. Iceland is an inspiration. Norway, Canada- all work with elements of socialism in their government.

Here’s some history on the early socialism in America and how it was quashed by big media and disinformation.

    • @Sherry-Lee, I personally believe moderation in all things is a good thing. Those were Lenin’s words, not mine. Ultimately, we will likely need to find balance in smaller, tribal communities, as the issues seem more in top-down implementation rather than the urges from the human heart for an improved welfare for all. Again, these quotes were not my own words but rather a compilation of actual quotes of communist strategy. People may do with it what they will. I put it out there, so that people have information from which to make their own decisions about what’s currently being offered, as well as what’s being stoked and poked as “the” solution. Discernment in all things, and everyone may not agree on the solution. I, personally, value living in a society in which people have some wiggle room to disagree and discuss. Do with these quotes what you will, including feeling free to toss them in the trash as completely irrelevant. 🙂 Blessings to you, Laura

  3. . Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

Native populations have been self governing for thousands of years. Capitalism and communism both used variations of all those tactics. Both are corrupt and have never been implemented anywhere on Earth according to their actual design theories.
Capitalism in its design REQUIRES a certain section of the population to remain in poverty and exploitation in order for the system to “work”. That is plain bad design-you can’t ever make something that stupid useful.

Both fail from outset because they believe the most important thing in society is production-who controls it, how it is done, how much profit etc.
That is plainly insane-the most important thing in society is LIFE. Without life-living people, healthy ecosystems-no society is possible.
Until we base our society and governance on Life instead of money it will never work.
The aboriginal people in Australia have a society that has continuity and myths going back BEFORE the last glaciation. They have obviously figured out how to govern. 6 Nations have a treaty that has been working well (The Great Law of Peace) for a thousand years. I don’t know why people keep arguing the “merits” stupid ideas that failed on every level in a few hundred years when there are a plethora of good examples that fo work to start from in our creative process of rebirthing our world. Colonized society does one thing well-destroy. It destroys the environment, living beings, community, religion, human beings, relationships, families (enclosure/industrialists planned jow to destroy families to compel workers to become slaves in order to survive). It is designed to spiritually, emotionally and socially cripple human beings and turn the m into slaves and slavers- nothing else will fit.
Derrick Jensen explains the details on that really well in A Language Older Than Words.
If you start from love everything else follows naturally.

“The goal of socialism is communism”

    Lol 🙂

Unfortunately this too often seems to be the case…

…and then we get the likes of Thatcher & Regan causing untold damage by overcompensating in the other direction. All these ideologies must fade for humanity to progress. “Postmodernism” may well lack some of the cut and thrust that makes politics engaging, but quite honestly such binary thinking isn’t serving our greater good, and broadly speaking I’m happier with the current political landscape than that of the late 20th Century, which was more ideological, in the UK at least.

    • Yes, it’s the wild swings from one extreme to the other as reactions that could use some tempering. When people get too unhappy with the one and run for the opposite, that’s when we run into problems. At least in the UK you don’t seem on the verge of Civil War like we are in the US. I’m no fan of either extreme. Small, local organizations are the antithesis of globalism and One World Government. Socialism works to some degree in places like Scandinavia because the countries are much smaller and much more homogenuos. Even Canada has a way smaller population than the US. Having lived all over the East and West Coasts of the US, plus the Southwest and the Midwest, and the South, I can honestly say that regions are VERY different in their needs and desires. It’s not that Americans despise each other or wish each other harm; it’s that people resent being driven further into poverty and desperation for a very poor fit.

  5. When people realize that the leader is within, and when they connect to that inner leader (their higher self), they will be much less likely to just blindly follow any outer leader. (This more than anything else should be the goal of “new age” leaders, but unfortunately it’s not true. New age leaders have different agendas.)

Also, when enough people connect to their inner leader, it will show up in the outer world and we will have more true leaders and the world will be transformed. First the inner must change, then the outer will follow.

All these ideologies were just models for different experiences for humanity to learn from. Now please let’s connect to our inner power. It’s time!!

    • Yes, it certainly IS time! I do see signs of changes in individuals. I’ve just noticed a trend in most of the “solutions” being offered in ways designed to get the New Age crowd on board as proponents to convince others that this ideology — a very thinly veiled version of NWO agenda — is THE path to enlightenment and Ascension. Eyes and hearts open. We each have far more power inside and together than most people recognize, truly replacing the need for any of the old models, except possibly more of the native/tribal ones of cooperation rather than “rule.” There’s definitely a difference, and I would argue that humanity has moved beyond needing to have someone else order them to be kind to each other. That’s the natural human impulse when all the artificial programming drops away. Thanks for commenting.
