Garden Update ~ Pollinator Paradise

So far so good on the groundhog front! Since I removed all kale, lettuce and red clover, they’ve not been back. Or, if they have, they still don’t like chard, herbs and all my super fragrant flowers. Our yard is pollinator central for the neighborhood, and I love it! So many bees of all sorts, wasps, butterflies, and moths. The birds are more abundant, too. Just thought I’d share some beauty:

The Robinhood rose bush I planted by our back patio leafed out like a trooper, even though it arrived during our Traverse City weekend away:

I also love all the delphiniums (the blue and peach colored flowers in photos 1, 4 and 5 above) and foxglove (below):

Believe it or not, this is just a small sample of the various plants in bloom, not to mention blueberries, aronia berries, elderflowers, and ripe strawberries. I thought I’d miss the annual veggies, but so far I just love all the extra flowers! I made a vegan ranch salad dressing from (store bought) zucchini and homegrown dill, parsley and chives. So fresh! And our sweet neighbor surprised me with a new sun hat to keep me blooming, too:

As we approach Summer Solstice, it finally feels like summer here, and life is good!
