I loved “The Cat Who Walked By Himself” and would read it often as a kid. I’d pretty much forgotten it until now. I used to identify with the Cat, although maybe not so much nowadays. And re-reading it this excerpt, I wonder if I recognized certain truths in it, even at a young age.
