Ann Kreilkamp ~ The Great Conjunction Jupiter/Saturn: Grounding Energy for Lift-Off

With Summer Solstice and a powerful Solar Eclipse behind us, friend, astrologer and permaculturist Ann Kreilkamp looks ahead to the powerful planetary alignments on Winter Solstice. While no one can definitively say when the Age of Aquarius began or begins, Winter Solstice 2020 seems a likely candidate with Jupiter and Saturn conjuncting at 0 degrees 28 minutes Aquarius.

As usual, this happens in very key spots of my natal chart and life. My Moon sits at 1 degrees 14 minutes Aquarius, so this Jupiter/Saturn conjunction closely conjuncts my Moon, which, in turn activates an exact Grand Trine in Air among my Aquarius Moon, Gemini Sun and Libra Pluto. Some astrologers theorize that the Star of Bethlehem occurred at a Jupiter/Saturn conjunction, and I grew up in “The Christmas City,” Bethlehem, PA. David and I got married on Winter Solstice 2016.

On the Eve of Last Winter Solstice, I experienced a surreal and spontaneous “initiation” involving a Womb exhibit, powerful death and rebirth imagery, including a huge synchronicity with my birth time, owls and then finding a dead coyote frozen on the edge of Lake Michigan — right at dusk on this longest night of the year. I described some of that experience and included photos in a blog post, but the full tale remains complex and deeply personal. In any case, for me and for many others, it doesn’t feel too soon to bring Winter Solstice 2020 into our awareness. Here’s Ann encouraging us to find greater context from the previous conjunction in May 2000:

The Great Conjunction Jupiter/Saturn: Grounding Energy for Lift-Off

by Ann Kreilkamp

Note: Hold on to your hats, this is a long post!

Please keep in mind that this turbulent year’s finale will occur on Winter Solstice, December 21, the holiest day of the year, which will just so happen to feature what is known as a Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn, at, guess what? 0° Aquarius!

Yes, I’d say that if we have been waiting all these decades for the Age of Aquarius to begin, it will finally ignite! But, a note of caution: electric Aquarius ramps up to warp speed only after death/rebirth Pluto itself also moves into Aquarius, in 2024. Between 2021 and 2024, expect a see-sawing between old and new: vertical, control-obsessed New World Order hierarchy vs. horizontal decentralized permacultural networking; the 1% (Capricorn) versus the 99% (Aquarius); doing things in old, stuck ways, versus using our imagination to explore and invent entirely new (and, paradoxically, ancient) ways of being and doing on planet Earth and out to the Great Beyond. For if any sign indicates space exploration, it’s Aquarius.

Wikipedia:

When studying the Great Conjunction of 1603, Joannes Kepler. thought that the Star of Bethlehem might be the occurrence of a Great Conjunction, which occurred in 7 BC.

(If so, I imagine the Star of Bethlehem included a conjunction of Mars, or maybe Venus for a short while, to give that bright spot in the sky extra punch for the Three Wise Men.)

What’s important here, is that Great Conjunctions of  Jupiter and Saturn, the two planets that function as a bridge between the individualized consciousness (short cycled planets, including Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury, Mars) and the planets of the collective unconscious (Uranus, Neptune Pluto and beyond), concern the manifestation of goals, plans, structures (Saturn) that are granted extra oomph (Jupiter) during each 20 year period.

And when did the last Great Conjunction begin? May 2000. We are only a few weeks from a 20 year anniversary during this month of June 2020. And what sign was it in then? Taurus, the most earthy earth sign, fixed, security-oriented, stable, and stubborn as hell. If there is any single sign that correlates with the natural world, it is Taurus. Continue reading

Happy Solstice, Happy Anniversary, Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas Eclipse!

I’m not sure how much I’ll be online for the rest of this year. On Saturday, December 21, 2019, Winter Solstice arrives, right on David’s and my third anniversary of our Winter Solstice marriage. We’ll celebrate the change of seasons with a long weekend and a few of our favorite things. We’ll also feel our way into the dynamic energies finishing out 2019.

Depending on your location, Christmas or Boxing Day this year includes a New Moon at 4° Capricorn and an annular Solar Eclipse. As far as eclipses go, this one feels rather lucky with Jupiter at 5° 20′ Capricorn in a harmonious, Earthy trine with Uranus at 2° 45′ Taurus. This combo brings wild, liberating, revolutionary Uranus to support Jupiter’s truth, expansion and luck. Not many people look at the Centaur Pholus, but this “small thing, BIG EFFECT,” slow moving powerhouse will be at 2° 8′ Capricorn on December 26, almost exactly trine that wild Uranian energy. With expansive Jupiter so close by, we might find that tiny moves during this eclipse produce exponentially large results over the next six months.

It takes a New Moon to ground and activate intentions made during the previous Full Moon. At 12:12 a.m. on 12/12 (Eastern US time), this Full Moon released a potent explosion of pent up energy: Saturn, Venus and Pluto conjunct at 19-21° Capricorn, with the Full Moon forming a creativity-generating quincunx at 19° Gemini. The quincunx (aka inconjunct) aspect demands integration of energies that appear to have nothing in common. A tall order — made taller if you happen to have any natal or progressed planets in the 19-21° range of Gemini or Capricorn. I do, and I definitely experienced that Full Moon in a major way. I know many clients did, too.

This New Moon Solar Eclipse and its roll out over the next six months will give further insights into and support for that Full Moon integration process. On the collective level, this involves finding ways to merge playful, trickster, mutable, chatty Gemini with cardinal, karmic, professional, law and order Capricorn. Tensions between eternal child and stern patriarch may arise — and we must find ways to honor both. In addition, we’ll need to find balance between superficial, verbal gymnastics and technical “truth,” versus a more somber and rigid sense of rules and honesty. We need both Gemini and Capricorn during this period of increased revelations. Gemini knows how to make difficult messages more palatable, and Capricorn brings integrity to that process.

This Christmas Solar Eclipse features the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all in Capricorn. That much Capricorn can feel heavy, so remind yourself that the days are getting longer, bit by bit in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, you’ve got Summer. All that sunshine should offset the occasional Cappy Gloom. In the Northern Hemisphere, it may help to hearken back to traditions of light: candles, fireplace, staring at the stars.

Take this time to go inside yourself and find your own light in the darkness. We are both Shadow and Light, Earth and Spirit. Even if you don’t follow events in the sky, you feel them in your body just by virtue of living on this planet at this time. We live in miraculous, challenging and potent times. Honor your courage in choosing to be here now. Thank you for being here.

Whichever holy days you celebrate, I wish you a beautiful rest of 2019. I may or may not return here before the New Year. I’ve got an exciting new collaboration to announce in 2020, and some new projects in the works, as well as old ones on the docket for completion soon. (Yes, The Metaphysics of Lyme Disease, I mean you!) The past ten years have been a wild ride. I filed divorce on the Blue Moon of December 31, 2009, and now I’m completing nine years of living together and three years of marriage with such a sweet, tender, loving, funny man. I feel blessed and deeply grateful.

Opportunity to Reboot

Astrology mentor, permaculturist and friend Ann Kreilkamp just reminded me via email about the unusual lineup this coming Solstice (Winter in the Northern Hemisphere, Summer in the Southern Hemisphere), 12/21/18. “Sol-” “Sun” “-stice” “still” effects last three days, so the Full Moon on 12/22/18 still activates those Solstice energies. I love the numbers, too! “The 1221 meaning is to begin again and to strive forward. It represents your inspirations and initiatives” (more here) . The Full Moon date has a 222 embedded in it, reminding us to keep the faith. Don’t dig up the seeds too soon; just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean they aren’t sprouting in the soil. Soil/Soul … Sol/Soul. This is a deeply soulful and potent time. As Ann put it in this morning’s email:

Solstice with Full Moon 0° Cap/Cancer, can you believe?

Ah yes, and this year’s Winter Solstice with the Full Moon, which happens only every 19 years, on the average. Any zero degrees New or Full Moons on the Solstices or Equinoxes contacts the Aries point (0* Aries), node of brand new beginnings for the entire zodiacal cycle to come, at every level. Re-booting the human hard drive to choose peace, prosperity, and abundance, in cooperation with each other and Nature. Let’s shoot for that. Shoot for the stars.

David and I have already been sensing the reboot energy. This Friday marks two years of marriage for us. Last year at this time, David had recently quit his job in Goshen in order to seek employment in Kalamazoo. Although David’s joking texts with our friend Tim Martin revealed eerie precognition of David’s new career, on Winter Solstice 2017, we had no idea what he’d be doing. We just knew he needed to take that leap of faith.

December 16, 2017 brought the shocking, traumatic, and in retrospect, perfectly timed passing of the same friend Tim. We learned about it on 12/17/17 when Tim’s ex-wife and daughter managed to get his cell phone to call me. I posted a tribute to Tim and have referenced him on occasion. He remains “active,” still a dear and helpful friend across the veil.

Yesterday brought some synchronous repetition of memorable things I did on 12/17/17. I always find it fascinating when life cycles in obvious ways. By comparison/contrast, it provides undeniable evidence of growth and change. Instead of shock and grief, yesterday, David and I experienced multiple periods of extreme gratitude and satisfaction. This included David’s career for which he began interviews last Winter Solstice. The past twelve months brought so much healing and internal change to me. When I compare who I am now with who I was a year ago, I feel grounded, secure, clear and grateful in exponentially deeper ways.

This year, we have some quiet celebrations planned, as the cosmic alignments mirror our own feeling of reset. David tells me his word for 2019 is “Cruise,” as in “we’ve hit cruising altitude after a long ascent.” Mine is “Thrive.” In these last days of 2018, and during this powerful 0° Full Moon Solstice, I wish you clarity, peace and joy. The Wheel of the Year reminds us that all things change. Just like the Seasons of the Earth, there is life in death, and death in life. At this still point of the Sun … Peace.

We Tied the Celtic Knot on Yule

Some of you already knew and maybe some of you wondered: David and I tied the Celtic knot on Yule. Literally: our rings are from Dublin.

Since we began our relationship as housemates, we have never not lived together, but a series of both subtle and not-so-sublte synchronicities recently revealed to us the time, manner and place of our sacred union.

We wanted our ceremony completely private, just between us, and I am not a wedding kind of gal. I’ve often said, “The only way I would have a wedding would be on Halloween so that everyone’s in costume, obviously reflecting their respective roles.” All true, but we wanted more than a courthouse experience to sanctify our marriage. Heaven, Earth and especially the Faery Realm aligned. It just so happened that we got married at midweek, at dusk, on Winter Solstice, by a hearth, as close as possible to the Indiana-Michigan state line, in a very Faery, highly liminal ceremony led by a fellow Reiki Master Teacher and her lovely daughter (also a Reiki Master Teacher).

In case we needed anymore sync winks, Continue reading

Blessed Yule Eve!

I will be offline tomorrow, as David and I are doing our own sacred celebration of the end of a very long, very rich and intense year filled with both healing darkness and welcome light. This song from Lisa Thiel’s CD, Circle of the Seasons, is one of my very favorites for this time of year. As those of us in the Northern Hemisphere enter Winter Solstice, may we each find that deep peace in the center of it all, the space from which starry dreams are born. Merry Yule and Blessed Be!

Energies, Holidays, Reflections and Heads Ups for December 2016

Yule

I just wanted to give everyone a little heads up for December, since some wonderful things are ramping up on my end. I will have very limited availability the second half of this month, for a variety of happy reasons including, but also in addition to the holidays. If you would like to book one of the December Specials or another kind of session sometime this month, I strongly recommend getting yourself on the calendar sooner rather than later. I will likely not have last minute session flexibility even with working from home.

For Gift Certificates, I normally make a custom PDF certificate that you can then email or print out for your loved one, but again, please do not leave these off until the last minute, as I have a lot of sessions and events already on the books. I want to be able to create the custom PDF for you and your loved ones, but if you leave this off until right before Winter Solstice or Christmas, I cannot guarantee I will have time to get the PDF immediately created for you. Please order by Friday, the 16th to be absolutely certain you’ll have the PDF in hand or in email in time for the holidays.

On December 13th, we’ve got a Full Moon in Gemini, also known as “The Long Nights Moon” or “The Goose Moon.” This will be our final Full Moon of 2016, so if you mark time by cycles of the Moon, then this would be a perfect occasion to reflect upon this past year and whatever has rolled along to completion. What have you achieved? For what do you feel gratitude? What did the intense energies of 2016 reveal in your life?

On December 19th, Mercury goes Retrograde, another cycle that often makes people nervous about communications, contracts and travel plans. I’ve got Mercury all over my natal chart and long ago learned to harness and enjoy the energies of Merc Rx. This link is an old post, with different planetary alignments, but it goes into detail about ways to thrive in Mercury Retrograde. In short, focus on anything that begins with “re”: revise, rework, reconnect, review, release, and I would even add … rejoice! In my own life, so many wonderful things have come to completion during Merc Rx’s that I look at these periods as progress markers and for restructuring — reconsidering and tweaking the old so that a reaffirmed new can reveal itself. Lots of re-‘s!

Winter Solstice/Yule follows Merc Rx, and we’ve got another re: the Return of the Light! As the Darkest Night of the Year passes, the Sun remains still (Sol-stice) for three days and then the longer days begin again. David and I appreciate the Wheel of the Year as a powerful way to move through time, and Winter Solstice always seems particularly eventful for us. We look forward to saying our goodbye’s to this past year’s cycle that included so many changes in our own families.

Winter Solstice 2015 marked David’s daughter’s college graduation and a deeply healing reconnection with old and new people in all our lives.

Mercury went Retrograde in early January 2016, and just as it went direct, my father’s long term battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma took a major turn for the worse. He could suddenly no longer tolerate the medication he was convinced had kept him alive. February brought my brother and me to Pennsylvania to help manage our father’s care, and then March included lots of returns and release as my father began his obvious transition beyond the veil.

Family reunions, memorial service, and funeral filled those months, and then I began moving my mother from their home of 30 years into the home my father purchased just two days before he died. I spent several more weeks creating a beautiful haven just for my mom, so that her grief would be tempered by delight in all the new and tailored-just-for-her decorating and feng shui. I then spent May’s Merc Rx returning to Pennsylvania, clearing out and staging the old house, which had its first showing on my birthday. It sold within three weeks, but the final paperwork went through in August’s Merc Rx, which brings us here again the upcoming December Merc Rx.

David’s family went through big transitions in 2015, but 2016 was no slouch for them either! As we celebrate Winter Solstice 2016, we will honor and release all of these things and more, welcoming the Return of the Light after a rich, but deeply challenging and growth filled twelve months.

In more traditional circles, Christmas follows on December 25th for those who celebrate the Christian holidays or just the Westernized version of the original Christmas story. Hanukkah also begins on December 25 this year, with Kwanzaa following on the 26th and the UK Boxing Day. In this action packed December, please accept my apologies if I’ve missed another holiday. There’s plenty of time to celebrate whatever feels relevant and important to you, whether or not anyone else recognizes your moments. I will continue to blog here and there through 2016 until New Year’s Eve, but I just wanted to give readers a heads up on my schedule, as well as the potent energies and opportunities in this month’s mix.

Wishing all of you wonderful holiday and energy blessings!

Michele Geyer ~ Winter Solstice 2012: Holding Sacred Space

Today’s post comes from my lovely faery and Ireland loving friend, Michele Geyer of the Energetic Connection:

Winter Solstice 2012: Holding Sacred Space

Can you fathom how many people around the world held sacred space yesterday?

Most who believe this year’s Solstice event is about shifting-up and embracing higher frequencies continue to resonate and sustain intentions for global change beyond what our minds can even imagine.

At the very least, these same people are holding sacred space throughout the weekend.

Do you know the premise of the “Hundredth Monkey?”

If not, it goes something like this: every single person holding a positive thought or state of being will affect at least 100 other people.

Sages and visionaries can affect millions with one thought vibration.

All angelic support, ET’s and otherworldly beings aside, the sheer potential of our human power to effect change is infinite.

Even if the 2012 prophecies are (were) not true, consider this:

If 100,000 people held an expanded vibration yesterday, 10 million others were affected by this wave of energy.

Think about it: in the US alone, there are 285 cities with populations over 100,000, which means it only takes one US city to encourage, elicit and evoke change in 10 million people.

If nothing else, we created an event with our intentions!

Here’s a little something from co-founder of Findhorn, Eileen Caddy’s “still small voice within.” Her messages were originally shared over the 40 years before her death in 2006.

Tap The Source of Universal Power and Use It At All Times

Affirm that what you desire is yours no matter what it is, or how seemingly
unattainable it may appear to be humanly, then believe it is yours and expect it to
come about. But let Me remind you again, never allow a moment of doubt in to mar this picture which you are holding in your so called imagination, simply accept that imaginations are realities and forces of unseen elements. That you are
learning to work with these higher forces in life, that the power of the spirit is yours
when you claim it as yours and put it into practice. Day by day let your consciousness expand so you are working from those higher realms all the time and you see
demonstrated in your life the seemingly impossible made possible. Tap this source of universal power and use it at all times.
