Chautauqua ~ The Illusion of Good Vs Evil

This is a very astute article by Chautauaqua, more in the vein of false dichotomies and how to transcend these. IMHO, well worth the initial read and click-thru. “Each of us are the sum of our collective aspects; meaning that every human has aspects of both genders, as well as both good and evil impulses, thoughts and desires. We are then, what we choose to express as, through as many, or as few aspects as desired in the given moment.”

Thanks, G!

Chautauqua ~ The Illusion Of Good Vs Evil
Augureye Express

The secret is gradually getting out that we humans are something more than what we’ve always been led, and programmed to believe ourselves to be.

In fact, we are hardwired from birth to exist in a fabricated reality of duality and dichotomy; believing most profoundly of all, in our own powerless insignificance. To begin with we’re born into the greatest duality of them all, the one in which all others operate, the Birth-Death construct; where we’re taught to believe in self over soul and that the authority of the state is absolute.

From birth, the dualities begin to pile up fast as we are taught, and expected to “play” within their parameters even though that isn’t always possible; and that is also an intentional aspect of the programming.

Long before we can either speak or walk, we’re bombarded with the dualities which comprise our “playpen,” beginning with Yes-No, Light-Dark, Good-Bad, Right-Wrong & Truth-Deception. These core dualities are designed to instill the feeling of powerlessness into the newly arrived soul as it gets used to its new form and environment. Did you know that lab rats born in captivity never have a sense there exists any other reality for them?

Other dualities present themselves to us while still in the newly arrived category; concepts like Male-Female, Love-Hate, Joy-Grief, and Dreams-Nightmares.

There of course is the most obvious duality, the one we must deal with every day, that of the body being either Awake or Asleep. We make our way thru each day, doing what is expected of us, doing our best to navigate the increasing madness of the world while keeping our sanity intact: then fall fast asleep at days end to restore vitality in a fantasy world within our minds. What if I told you that is exactly backwards; that in fact, all your “waking” hours are but a dream state and what you experience each night is the real world.

How would you feel about that? Welcome to the world of consensus reality!

You may well be asking how any of all this makes sense; well, it makes the same kind of sense as us choosing to incarnate into a world of hate in order to remember how to love! Before we can realize our full destiny as beings of light, we must first walk in the darkness.

Before we can accept what truly unlimited beings we are, we must first experience the illusion of limitation, in this place. We don’t need self-appointed rulers or their media empire to tell us how to feel, that’s what we have a heart for. This then is where we encounter the truly thorny dualities of Wealth-Poverty, Liberty-Tyranny and Good-Evil which have such a stranglehold on this planet today.

Cross Over, Cross Over, Cross Over

An old kundalini yoga video by Gurumukh (yes, I had it in VHS form, so that tells you something!), features a lot of exercises touching left fingers to right toes and vice versa, or alternately kicking the legs in the air so that they cross the middle line. I know from my days of visual therapy, that such “crossovers” help to balance the right and left sides of our brain. Whenever we make efforts to work both left and right, we encourage exponentially greater awareness.

If our right and left sides don’t balance, then things stop making sense, and the brain begins to shut down the visual field. We take in about 80% of our information about the world through our eyes. Even closed eyes help to regulate balance and tell us about the levels of light in our surroundings. If one eye tells a radically different story than the other eye, a situation called “binocular dysfunction” occurs, and it confuses the brain. Initially, we might get a headache or vertigo, but eventually the brain adapts, usually by shutting out as much confusing information as possible. “Just the facts, ma’am, just the facts, and never mind if they don’t make sense. We’ll just eliminate everything that doesn’t fit.”

This deletion of information that doesn’t “fit” happens physically, but it also happens metaphysically. Social psychologists call it “cognitive dissonance,” and would-be intuitives call it: “I would love to be intuitive, but my intuition’s bunk! I either get it totally wrong, or it’s just — blank.” In all of these cases, neglecting to activate, balance, and exercise both sides together results in major blind spots.

By contrast, repeatedly crossing over opens both intuition and logic, allowing both to flow more freely. Kundalini yoga practitioners reap huge benefits from the many crossover exercises and also from meditations in which the closed eyes roll slightly upwards and inwards, focusing towards the mysterious “Third Eye.” Whenever we awaken and stimulate the Third Eye, our powers of visualization, intuition, clairvoyance and manifestation increase. Synchronicities and synergies reveal themselves as Life in a state of harmony and creative flow. We learn to live in a world of paradox, because we no longer rely strictly on intuition or logic, left or right. Instead, we transcend duality — but not by ignoring it. No! We transcend duality by recognizing it and playing with it until it births something new.

Sometimes people wonder why someone who lives as intuitively and spiritually as I do bothers to dig around in the mucky muck of politics, the body, or the nitty gritty harshness of ignorance and poverty. Why don’t I just float “away with the faeries” as they say? Well, I can and I do quite often float away with the faeries, or bliss out in meditation, have late night giggle fests, and get embarrassingly excited about the silliest little things. But I am herenow — too. I didn’t bother to don this sometimes inconvenient physical form just so I could spend all my time checking out of it. Been there, done that. It’s fun. But it’s not why I’m here.

I have loads of reasons for being here, but one reason I feel strongly about involves modeling how to be “in this world but not of it.” We don’t transmute the world by shutting down our visual fields (on all levels) so that we can no longer see what’s “wrong” with it. Doing that can offer a valid spiritual path — one of cloistering or detachment — but that’s not my path. Again, been there, done that. Nor does total cloistering allow for the alchemy of transmutation. Zoning out through drugs, games and brainwashing offers another way of dealing with this unreal world, but again, not my path. I came here to help this planet transmute and thus transcend the rigid left/right, light/dark, high/low, fight/flight paradigms. We are creators, whether or not we choose to accept that challenge.

In the Thoth Tarot deck, the Princess of Disks is both the lowest of the low and the highest of the high. She’s so low, she’s high. Physical form, Shadow Work, the UnderWorld … all that nitty, gritty STUFF … forms the basis for our Creations.

Because we are Creators, whether we use 10% of our capacity or 100% of our capacity, the more “stuff” we allow into our Awareness, the more choices we have in how and what we can create. Just because we see it doesn’t mean we need to include it, but blanket deletion of “unpleasant” or “uncomfortable” things eliminates access to raw materials. Plus, how many of our most favorite, treasured things, people and ideas now, scared the bejeesus out of us when we first encountered them?

In creating with an eye towards transmutation and transcendence, I personally don’t want to ignore stuff. I want the opportunity to assess what I can do with it. Maybe nothing; but maybe I can make something really, really cool. Maybe I can combine this “ugly” thing with that “putrid” color and this “horrid, forbidden” thought and that “lowest of the low” will reveal itself as something beyond inspirational. I. Don’t. Know.

But I’m curious.

“Sometimes questions are more important than answers.” ~Nancy Willard

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.” ~Albert Einstein

Perhaps liberation doesn’t interest some people. It interests me. It engages me, and for those whom it also interests and engages, I offer the observation that crossing over — physically, in ideas, in experiences — crossing over, coupled with a timely turn inside, encourages transmutation and transcendence, which lead to liberation. That’s why I sometimes go on about this or that, and, more importantly: this-AND-that. In the spirit of crossing over, I’ll share an email that came through yesterday:

“you seem so busy, one hesitates to add one more thing, but I like your new initiative to dialogue with ‘the other side’ (i.e. people who don’t focus on fairies, or grow organic food, or vote Tea Party, or whatever). The video abt Common Core was very good. I knew of a Notre Dame faculty effort to block CC in Catholic schools, but not all the other efforts, except for the pro-big business effort to block it just because ‘it’s being imposed by those liberal elites’ (Indiana Legislature type thinking).

“but here’s my two cents – there is a movement in some traditional Catholic circles called ‘distributism,‘ which is for local control, local food, etc. It’s actually quite old – the writer GK Chesterton was a backer. It operates under the idea that private property ownership should be as widespread as possible, and a lot of other principles. But because ‘traditionalists’ and ‘New Agers’ tend to label each other, the two don’t always realize their common concerns. Distributists also support seed sovereignty and get why, etc etc. If you already know this, great, but just had to mention it. Time banks come to mind as solution for under/unemployed people – I live in a big ‘entitled’ community, partly because of the scarcity thinking of the leadership – both sides need to open up their thinking!”

And here … a link to an article on The Transition Network blog, “How to Discuss Transition with Conservatives/Republicans.” The article focuses on Transition Laguna Beach and how — unlike most Transition Towns — they aimed to include conservatives right from the start.

Whether you agree with the Transition article or the emailer’s comments, I urge you to consider not only their words, but also the spirit behind their words. It takes courage to try to build bridges where none or few exist. Sometimes we get the exact words or phrasing wrong, and it blows up in our faces. But we can learn from that goof instead of cowering inside our wounded egos.

We live on a beautiful planet overrun by a troubled and often highly destructive species (humanity) that nevertheless holds unfathomable potential to heal and to create new worlds. I’ve invested a lot in humanity and this planet, because I believe those investments can make a difference. I believe we can co-create something that both harmonizes with Nature and quantum leaps us to what today seems “supernatural.”

I’ll end with a quote from that same Gurumukh video (now available on DVD):

“We must start wherever we are. Because if you don’t start somewhere, you’ll be nowhere. … If you fall over, say, ‘So what?’ You get up and you try again. Who cares if it looks good? Start wherever you are and … KEEP GOING.”

Some Quick Reminders

1. The sham of the two-party political system isn’t conspiracy theory. The Bankers Manifesto of 1892 is an actual document and a brilliantly devious piece of work that still largely determines American (and by military extension, World) policy.

2. You have within you the capability to transcend whatever limitations you currently feel as restrictions. The fact that situations feel too tight and too oppressive is a sign that you have already outgrown them in their current form. New sizes, styles and solutions exist.

3. “Insights from myth, dreams, and intuitions, from glimpses of an invisible reality, and from perennial human wisdom provide us with hints and guesses about the meaning of life and what we are here for. Prayer, observance, discipline, thought and action are the means through which we grow and find meaning.” ~Jean Shinoda Bolen

4. “Man’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.” ~Oliver Wendell Holmes

5. “To dare is to lose one’s footing momentarily. Not to dare is to lose oneself.” ~Soren Kierkegaard

6. “The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” ~Henry David Thoreau

7. “I think everyone should be told they’re beautiful until they believe it.” – Unknown

You’re beautiful.
Keep living.
Keep loving.
Take heart.
Have courage.

Sure, the current “reality” is complete BS, but even BS eventually becomes compost, also known as “black gold,” the richest soil enhancer that makes things grow. We are the change, and that change is happening. Transcend fast and prosper! 🙂

Full Moon Musings on Light and Love

Happy Pisces Full Moon in Virgo! Having just returned from three weeks in pristine forests while painting portals, I’m in a rather dreamy state myself, only amplified by Mercury Retrograde and all that watery Pisces and earthy Virgo energy. This entire post is just an offering of musings on light and love. Blessings, peace and courage to each of you.

Laura Bruno, Tree Hugger

I received this as a forwarded email from a friend of mine. It, in turn, is extracted from a longer email by Mike Quinsey, channeling “SaLuSa from Sirius”:

“Dear Ones, let it be said that before you dropped down into the lower vibrations, you were fully aware of your origin as a Spark of God. That was so long ago that it cannot be spoken of in linear terms, as initially you were not in a physical body such as you have now. However, intelligent life forms have been on Earth for millions of years during which the Earth has become a prison planet, where for various reasons souls have been sent to it. As a result you have become quite a mixture of souls, from the unmanageable who exploited the dark energies, to those who have brought the Light with them. What has ensued for millennia of time is constant battles between the dark and Light to control the Earth. Each have had periods when they have been the dominant force, and gradually the Light has emerged as the victor. However, this was not before the dark Ones virtually achieved their plan for total world control, and the slavery of Mankind.

“In fact the Light moves in mysterious ways that the dark Ones have not detected. They have no answers when it is present, and cannot handle its powerful energy. At best they try to induce fear and lower the vibrations, but all that does it provide a temporary respite. The Light can transmute the dark, but not the reverse. Therefore every soul that understands the powerful weapon they carry need not fear the dark Ones. When you also apply the Law of Attraction, the Light wins hands down and is drawing immense amounts of Light from around the Universe. The Light is love and if you can maintain your place as a channel for it, you will helping ground it upon Earth. It comes down to how much you can transmute the dark energy, thereby reducing the need for Mother Earth to carry out a major cleansing. You are blessed with freewill, and this is why what you do has a great bearing on how the end times work out. However, it will not in any way alter the resultant victory for the Light…”

This email has sparked several discussions with friends and clients today, and falls within context of an ongoing lightning strike upon this planet. It reaches deeply into the question of free will: how much can we or should we “interfere” with another person’s spiritual process? In Reiki classes and in sessions with other “lightworkers” aka “healers,” this is a major question. What do we do with people struggling around us? How do we accept their process even if it’s slower or ineffectual or not what we would choose? How do we accept someone’s choice not to heal cancer? Not even to try? How do we accept someone’s choice to run away from hsi or her own light? Where do we draw the line of what’s ok to share or not share?

This is an ongoing debate, and I don’t claim to have a definitive answer. Earth is, however, a free will planet. We each have the option in each moment to choose light or choose darkness. To choose love or choose fear. The trouble is that light and love are both “invasive forces.” There really is no darkness; it is simply the absense of light. There really is no fear; it is simply the absense of love. Nature abhors a vacuum. The natural movement is one of filling darkness with light and filling fear with love. In that sense, restraining your own light and love in order to “honor” someone else’s darkness and fear, does not offer a long term solution. It requires work that goes against nature. Eventually, natural law will win.

People have grown fond of my occasional email correspondence turned blog post. Here’s an excerpt from an exchange this morning regarding the very issue of free will and the internal struggle of light vs. darkness. My response follows:

“When I see you in that struggle my instinct with every fiber of my being is just to blast you with light. Sorry. I just have so much light wanting to flood through me all the time that when I see something dark the light flowing through me just wants to flood into the dark like the crack of light that seeps in beneath a door or through splits in the wood or through the key hole.

“I can’t help myself unless I put some kind of shield (read: airtight prison) around me. My light just wants to let loose and go everywhere at once. That’s how I’ve always been. I’m not trying to take over your life or the environment. It’s the light that won’t be contained.”

The response to my words indicated an acceptance and welcoming of the light, so long as it came without judgment of the darkness or the battle. Like it or not, the 3D world offers shadows — the chiaroscuro of light and dark. Form brings boundaries and contrasts, unlike those found in the strictly spiritual realm of light.

I personally enjoy boundaries, shadows and forms. They give life to things, create new forms and offer challenges to creativity. I am reminded of Jesus’ words to his disciples, “Be in this world but not of it.” “Let your light so shine.” That last instruction also reminds me of the little Sunday School ditty:

“This little light of mine,
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine,
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine,
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.

Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.”

It also reminds me of Mikao Usui, credited with rediscovering Reiki. He spent seven years healing people in “The Beggars City” but found, to his vast disappointment, that people he had healed opted to return to their sick or injured state. Attached to the concept of everyone accepting and embracing the light available to them, Usui grew despondent. He talked it over with the head of his monastery and decided on a new approach.

Instead of trying to fix everyone, he began walking around with a lit torch in the middle of the day. People looked at him like he was crazy and asked him why. He would respond, “I’m glad you asked. This is the light and it’s in you. If you’re interested, I’ll be speaking about it later tonight.” Those who wanted to learn showed up, and he trained many students that way … just having them follow him around and mimicking his light and energy until they rediscovered their own.

Ghandi put it this way, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I say, “Be the light. Be the love.” It doesn’t need to be directed at anything or anyone specific. This planet and universe are crying out for healing. Whatever you feel called to love, love. Get your glow on. In fact, it’s already on, but some of us are hiding it more cleverly than others. We can’t hide it forever, though. As Schizandra says at the end of the Gates of Mu, “The days are coming when the time is now.”
