Mayan Mystic Columns: A Map to Higher Vibrations

This evening’s post comes from my friend (and one of the very first Reiki Master Teachers I ever trained!), Michele Geyer. She beautifully articulates converging cycles of Mayan, Jewish and Celtic traditions, showing how each reveals an “as within, so without” reality. Feeling the intensity these days? I hope this article offers some perspective and relief. We’re getting there! (If you’d like to see the original article with all of Michele’s illustrations and photos, please click here.)

Mayan Mystic Columns: A Map to Higher Vibrations
Michele Geyer

There are many maps available to guide us, many templates for evolution and stimulation of awareness and consciousness. Why is it so difficult for humanity to find its way?

Mainstream Arenas

We all know that times are tough right now. In every mainstream domain–economic, political/legal, societal and religious, there is upheaval. Many of us see the humor, even the light in all this chaotic darkness; yet many are trapped in the negative 3-dimensional thought patterns that accompany the destruction of our systems.

Maybe life would be a bit easier if those who are stuck on the 3-D hamster wheel could keep in mind that these systems are destroying themselves and that they/we don’t have to die along with them; we are simply along for the ride as witnesses! If only they’d get off their own unconscious ride to gain a new perspective or at least a new interpretation of the old perspective and to experience the incredible potential of these times.

Unfortunately even those who are a bit more liberal, a bit more philosophically and spiritually progressive can be stuck too. I had an argument with a friend of mine a couple months ago. He said something like this, “I’m on the team that is trying to rebuild the government and all of our systems in a new way, step by step, bit by bit. By keeping what exists we can make more appropriate changes.”

Jumping up and down, arms waving in the apparent breeze they created, I said, “Oh my God! What are you thinking? Are you insane?” Of course that put him on my page right away—NOT! “I’d put every law and system ever written, after the constitution was published, through a giant paper shredder!”

Sitting there in shock, he quietly said to me, “Wow, that’s sounds pretty destructive to me.”

Now seated, I was still jumping, this time out of my skin. I couldn’t figure out what was triggering me so deeply, and yet neither could I figure out why he wanted to fix an already severely broken system that no longer had any foundation in reality much less aligned itself with our founding Fathers ideals.

I wanted to apologize for my mania, yet thought better of it. Then I got in my car and drove home for the next 1.25 hours, thinking, feeling and reflecting on this wild hair that was poking my mid-brain.

By the time I reached my parking space, I got it. The light bulb went on.

“You absolutely cannot fix a world-wide, entrenched 3-D problem in the 3-D realm. You must go to a higher dimension to see it clearly, to tear it down to just the right degree and either replace or rebuild from there. Honestly, our founding Fathers were in such a place. They had perspective, and solid interpretive skills.”

That’s what I wrote to him on Facebook that night.

Watch out! Even the heart-felt, liberal minded people you know best are not exactly queued up to embrace how things really evolve. Remember, it took a whole different form of man to appear before humanity stepped up from its Cro-Magnon roots. A different brain, a different face, a different, much more evolved body! Neanderthal man couldn’t even hold his place during this evolution. He was the last in his lineage once the higher mind came into the picture.

Conscious Growth Templates

Some of us love to align ourselves with astrological events. Some of us are more interested in what the cards say about our future times or want desperately to believe in some benevolent group or force, or what the seasonal energies bring to us–like the change between night and day, or Fall and Winter. Many of us got caught up in the predictions for an Armageddon-like planetary shift in 2012. Others of us listen to everything that is said or written and then life becomes a sort of bipolar-ish reaction to way too much input from outside sources. In this instance it’s not about the “system,” it’s about how we are addicted to it at the expense of our inner voices.

The body is a sacred hologram imbued with the wisdom to heal itself on all levels, if only we’d find our way to the source of our problems. If we found that we’d also find the fix. By the way, just in case you’ve forgotten, your problems=world problems and vice versa.

And now I’m going to ice the cake for you. We only think we can heal our physical issues with physical processes. It’s why our medical realm is so successful financially and such an incredible failure on many other levels. Aren’t we supposed to know this already?!

Speaking of entrenchment, the medical industry is only one example of the deeply scarred, self-contained cycles (a more sophistcated version of the early hamster wheel) of destruction we’ve created here. What if everyone knew that we need to heal our etheric bodies and blueprints too, or first, or only? To me this is really the only growth point and using divining tools or astrological systems simply supports it and brings it all to the table for better understanding. What if we actually found that power inside of us, accessed and booted it up? That would be operating way outside the hamster cage.

In that event, I’d say the line to use my big-ole paper shredder would be very long!

The Mayan Calendar: Construct for an Inner Journey

The inner journey is not very popular, even amongst those who might define themselves as existentialists, spiritually motivated, on the path to enlightenment, or simply open-hearted. Why? Because, it’s really dark in there! Besides, it’s really easy to fake being on a spiritual path.

One of the less popularized growth templates indicates that we are in a time of deep internal reflection right now. Can you feel it?

Although the Mayan calendar–at least part of our recent interpretation of it–could be responsible for the mass increase in hyper-awareness and dramatic interpretations about “the Shift,” it also gives us a map to go within for our answers and our healing. Set up as a 260-day spiraling day keeper, the calendar outlines a constant state of spiraling into center and back out again through various portals into other dimensions.

And this year, it may not be co-incidental that the core of the annual Mayan calendar spiral falls in close alignment with both the Uranus-Pluto transit square in Aries on September 19-20; the seasonal appearance of the Dark Goddess in Celtic lore, and the Jewish High Holidays. The core of the Mayan calendar experience is September 11-October 30.

Rosh Hashanah is the anniversary of creation–think back to the Biblical reference to the 7 days it took God to create Heaven and Earth, Adam and Eve–and falls on on September 16-18 this year; Yom Kippur is the day of atonement, falling on September 25-26. The astrological transit has been coined by my favorite local astrologer as “shocking transformation.” The Dark Goddess refers to the times of going within, at New Moon, during the wee hours of the night, and in the Fall as our days become progressively shorter.

Mystic Column Days

On September 12th, we entered into the annual Mayan cycle of approximately 40-days during which we moved through 10 portals into a place called “time out of time.” Each portal is a day-long in our time. Once we’ve passed through the 10 portals, we sit for a few days at the entrance to the gateway that leads into the Mystic Columns which sit in the center of our Galactic Core.

For 20 days we continue to spiral even further into the deepest places of our super consciousness–our true core and human reflection of the Galactic Core vibration. After journeying in the land of Mystic Columns, we rest again for a few days on the other side of the gateway, and then spiral back out through the same 10 portals we entered on September 12th.

By the time we are finished this year, it will be October 30th, just in time to breathe for one day before All Hallows Eve and Samhain!

Samhain is the Celtic New Year, the time of our final harvest and a time during which we prepare for Winter. It is the beginning of our long journey inward, into the darkness of regeneration, seed germination and renewal. These tribal cultures–Jewish, Mayan and Celtic–all understood what it meant to truly be in the flow, to honor the natural cycles of the Earth.

Their rhythms were a reflection of the planetary rhythms and there were inherent times for complete surrender. At least once a year, and more likely every month, or every day in the most traditional sense of their beliefs, they went inside to speak with the Gods and Goddesses of their hearts, the Divinity as it was reflected inside of them.

So on Monday, October 15, 2012, you too will be spiraling out of the Galactic Core–where you’ve been fully supported in your self-inquiry–out to rest and integrate what you’ve found, what you’ve learned. On Sunday, October 21, 2012, you will begin making your way back through the 10 portals, bringing the new higher vibration into your life in our currently changing 3-D/4-D world.

It is your internal shifts, along with everyone else that was conscious on this journey, that will take the rest of the world into the 5th dimension and beyond. So even though it’s almost over, pay attention to these last several days inside the Mystic Columns. Become conscious of what you are finding, learning & creating. Bring it forth with intention and be one of those who sustains your evolution for the betterment of humanity.

By the way, I really do love astrology, numerology, divining and scrying. I just don’t want to make it a national past-time or count on it more than we count on our intuition and connection with the divine inside. And I really don’t want to buy an even more massive paper shredder to get rid of yet a different attachment to something unstable. Let’s just go willingly into the next phase of life, peacefully letting go of all that isn’t in service to our true essences.

Parallel Universes

Thanks to Tim Glenn for making me aware of The Horizon Project, a gathering of highly specialized scientists who have collaborated with each other in order to explore a much bigger picture. While researching their research, I stumbled upon this BBC video series about scientific evidence for parallel universes.

At this time of “possible dimensional rift” as we cross the Galactic Dark Rift on December 21, 2012, these videos are well worth the watch. Sit back and let your mind wander. What kind of Universe would you love to create? “Anything that can happen, does happen.” I suggest watching these videos with an open mind and an eye towards possibilities.

Before I share the BBC video series, I wanted to post this very short video from the Horizon Project, talking about the Mayan Prophecies and the potential dimensional rift:

Strange times, full of potential! In a world where everything’s possible, what would you love to create?

Precession of the Equinoxes

This is another guest blog post by my Facebook friend, Chicago-based astrologer and acupuncturist Dean Scarpinato. I think he does a nice job contextualizing our current times within a phenomenon known as Precession of the Equinoxes. For those of you not familiar with this term, it’s the basis for the idea we are entering (or have already entered) “The Age of Aquarius.” The Mayan Calendar also relates to the Precession of the Equinoxes and the 26,000 year cycle that comes to a close on or around December 21, 2012. Mayan Elders have recently explained to the public that the great shift can happen within a time range, which we are already experiencing. Just to clarify, the Mayans themselves do not predict the end of the world, but the end of an era. Dean explores how the 1960’s offered a kind of dress rehearsal for today’s big show.

(I’ve left his piece unedited, because I appreciate his fiery style. Editing out any curse words disrupted the flow and seemed to zap the power of his points. Apologies to anyone who dislikes explicit language: there’s not a lot, but there is some in here.)

Many thanks to Dean for allowing me to share his insights with my own readers:

The world is at a point of radical change, a tipping point if you will. The ’60’s was an immature awakening, the birth of a New Age, New Consciousness, New Aeon. But it was in the hands of children who lacked the necessary discipline to rightly divide the word or to persevere in the face of established resistance , which came all to often in the form of Daddy saying “come on home boy. Let me get you a cushy job.” The Black and Brown revolutionaries ended up in jail while the white ones became Professors with book deals looking back on those whacky days of radicalism and helping society to relegate the revolution to the storage shed with all other anomalies.

But the Universe itself is moving on, as we shall see. And so you can co-opt the Revolutionary, bring corporate sponsorship to the Revolution, but the most you can do in the face of the changing Aeon is to perhaps wipe out the world population. Whether or not God or the space men or even some political figure not entirely corrupted by corporate dollars (and hopefully bullet proof as well) will come in the final reel to save us from ourselves is anyones guess. But we as a world are moving into the Age of Aquarius, the Aeon of Horus and we are at the end of a 26,000 year cycle (A Great Year) as well. So put all the laws in place to keep the sheeple in line. Uranus is gonna blow this pop stand wide open and I don’t think St Peter takes Master Card. The Church may (LOL) but I don’t think that will get you far in the Kingdom of Heaven either.

In the 60’s Uranus in Virgo was opposite Saturn in Pisces. That is to say that the revolutionary, free thinking iconoclast in the realm of the Earth Mother, virgin Isis or in her later incarnation Mary, seeded by God (heavenly process) and prepared to give birth was actively opposed by the entrenched system. We were (are?) in the Age of Pisces. At least the Sun is. From a heliocentric position the Earth is in the Age of Virgo and so this polar opposition was indeed most telling.

And perhaps, like the child Jesus, the so-called “hippies” just figured that as soon as everyone heard the good news and turned on we’d all just groove, turn our homes into crash pads and all ancient wounds would be forgotten in a nice peyote ceremony. And much like Jesus the Roman Army and its lick spittles (FBI, CIA, Local Police etc) pretty much crushed the rebellion and all its leaders. The ones it didn’t crush outright it bought off and then they co-opted the hair and dress into a fashion worn by everyone. Crazy side burns and very gay polyester bell-bottoms were in even at the Brady Bunch Home.

Then a few years back that opposition repeated itself, only 180* opposite. In other words Saturn was now in Virgo with Uranus in Pisces, and I as an Astrology couldn’t help thinking that maybe the Revolution had matured while the so-called Revolutionaries just got old. 40 years…hmmm. The Biblical number of probation. The number of years that the unbelieving generation wandered in the desert, knowing of but never reaching the Promised Land. Only Joshua and Caleb were preserved in their youth to actually take what they should have, but were not ready to take 40 years ago.

And while this is significant Astrologically, along with the fact that Pluto is in Capricorn, last seen (or not seen) there during the American and French Revolutions, it should be clear not only to any third rate Astrologer but to anyone who reads the papers that the absolute most hidden filth in the deepest invaginations of the Plutocracy we call corporate America will be forced to the surface with the fits and spats of dysenteric diarrhea until the patient finally recognizes the cause and takes the fucking cure. And not unlike so many patients I see in my Acupuncture practice, the cause of the disease is the lifestyle they covet and cherish and they would literally rather die than give up smoking, drinking eating processed garbage and lying to themselves over every detail.

So rather than recognize that capitalism is the disease and the need to get bigger bigger bigger is the mentality of a cancer which ultimately destroys its host, instead of recognizing that the Earth is a fragile eco system orbiting a spectacularly stable star in an otherwise uninhabitable infinitude, and saying “hey maybe we should take care of this place for ourselves and posterity,” we blow up mountains and drill the oceans and turn the atmosphere into a microwave. We shoot nuclear radioactive levels of DU (depleted uranium) all over the Middle East but especially Iraq, and just plain lie and cover up the fact that cancer and really really nasty birth defects are up exponentially. Then we build prisons for the dissidents (attack what few health cells are left) and blame them for all our misdeeds.

It is psychopathic and it is cancerous. And we can’t give it up because we just cannot imagine living without all the neurosis that our greed can buy (on credit). “And even still they would not stop their witchcraft”

So how exactly did we get in this mess? Better still where are we headed? We are on a ride through the Ages into a New Age that, like all new ages, will make devils out of the gods of the old age. The first will be the last. He who tells you today “grab a shovel and be productive (shovel coal into the furnace of hell)” will soon be wailing “Forgive me I was blind.” It is nothing new. It has happened a number of times throughout human history.

To digress for a moment I learned recently from a Terrence McKenna youtube that most stars only last about 700,000,000 (thats seven hundred MILLION) years. Our Sun is already 2,000,000,000 (thats 2 BILLION). Our Sun is already 3X older than the average star will ever get and its still rocking. It is an incredibly stable star system. Biological evolution has been occurring on Earth for 200,000,000 years. That means that 90% of the Earths life was completely desolate. Perhaps the Sun was hotter. Perhaps hot enough to have sustained life on Mars.

Of that maybe human beings have been around for 2,000,000 years and of that written history is no more than about 50,000 years old. Capitalism, by the way, has been around for perhaps 300 years. To conclude that the Universe would miss us, or the US dollar would require a level of ignorance that would challenge Fox News. How many Egyptian Sheckles does it take to buy a loaf of bread? Well I guess if they’re pure gold you could buy the whole US government. But if it’s FIAT Currency made of paper well you can guess what it’s worth today. Such is the fate of the US dollar and such is the fate of the current Fascist/Corporate system of government. But today, unlike in 1967, I believe it is permanent and certain.

As a world we have experienced many Ages. Ask an archeologist and they will tell you of the Ice Age, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Copper Age, Iron Age, perhaps even Space Age also known as NASA Sound Stage Age. A Sociologist might tell you of the Dark Ages and subsequent Renaissance. The Age of Enlightenment, and perhaps even the Golden Age when men walked with the gods and magick filled the air.

Talk to an Astrologer and you will learn that the Sun in its elliptical path around the Zodiac loses 1* every 72 years. This gives the Sun an ever so slight retrograde motion by which it moves backwards one sign every 2,160 years. It is called the “Precession of the Equinoxes.” Multiply 2,166 by 12 and you will find that in 26,000 years the entire Zodiac will have been circumambulated. This, Astronomers beginning I believe with Ptolemy or perhaps Pythagoras or even Plato, have labelled “The Great Year.” And that is where we stand today. That’s right…this time its different.

In reading Angels, Demons and Gods of the New Millenium, by Lon Milo DuQuette I became quite interested in brief and enlightening narrative of the historical movement of the Ages and the evolution of religious beliefs and practices. Much mystery indeed became clear and I am going to attempt to capture this narrative in my own style and perhaps with my own emphasis. I find that this historical understanding makes me all the more certain and perhaps slightly less tentative about the great, even cataclysmic changes that are approaching. I died as a rock and became a plant, as a plant I evolved into an animal, from which I became a man. Let me shed this mortal coil and awaken the god within. How splendid the adventure. Viva la revolucion!

Earth Changes and Dietary Shifts

I sooooo did not want to write this post, but it just keeps rolling around my brain. Whenever I manage to quiet those words, I stumble upon some other (formerly) raw vegan website extolling the virtues of meat. When I stop reading blogs, I get phone calls from vegan clients asking why, oh why do they “suddenly crave chicken”? Why are their guides, their trusted guides, showing them “platefuls of fish and vegetables” whenever they ask for healing? Why do they feel the seductive pull of eggs and … bone broth?

Needless to say, these shifts have caused some sparks to fly on the vegan and raw vegan circuit. When “Raw Model” Anthony Anderson went public in 2009 about drinking raw goat milk kefir, some people congratulated him and others freaked out. Since that time, many, many former proponents of an exclusively raw and vegan diet have shifted, either publicly or privately to something radically … different.

I have lots of clients interested in raw and vegan foods, and I have lots of high raw friends. Heck, I even wrote a book called, “The Lazy Raw Foodist’s Guide,” which details not just one, but many raw-friendly paths. Because of my Medical Intuitive gifts and my involvement in raw and vegan foods, people keep asking me to comment. Please consider this article my comment. 🙂

A key feature of “The Lazy Raw Foodist’s Guide” is a chapter called “Finding Your Why.” To begin, I’ll quote part of that section here:

“Your why comes before your way. In fact, your why comes before anything! Before we go any further, take a moment to define your why. Why did you decide to read this book? Why do you feel drawn to explore raw foods?

“Finding your why makes any journey easier and more direct. When you know your why, you can more clearly weigh your options. When you know your why, you can better handle distractions and temptations. When you know your why, you can dead reckon your way.

“Wikipedia defines ‘dead reckoning’ as ‘the process of estimating one’s current position based upon a previously determined position, or fix, and advancing that position based upon known speed, elapsed time, and course.’

“I first learned about dead reckoning from a helicopter pilot whose GPS malfunctioned. He explained that if you know where you’ve been and you know where you want to go, then you can find stopover points along the way. You can take shorter journeys and reassess the progress on your longer journey each time you pause. As long as you have a clear idea of where you’ve been and at least a vague idea of where you’d like to go, then you can hop, skip and jump your way to your destination.

“Does dead reckoning always work? Well, that depends on your perspective! Christopher Columbus intended to reach India and dead reckoned his way to America instead. Miscalculations of his estimated speed led him somewhere completely unexpected, but he got there by following what he viewed as his intended course. Mistake or inspiration?

“I wonder how many great discoveries happen by ‘accident.’

“In exploring your why, you do not need to pick a final, unchangeable answer right now. It just helps to know your current motivation. You can change your why or correct course at any stopover points along the way.

“Perhaps you initially choose raw food for health reasons. Maybe you suffer from chronic fatigue, cancer or fibromyalgia and have heard stories about the miracle raw food diet. Or maybe an intuitive spark just says, ‘Do this, and don’t ask questions! You’ll see why later.’ In that case, you still have an initial why: you’re following your intuition. As a Medical Intuitive, I would say that’s one of the greatest whys you can ever have! …”

I wrote the Lazy Raw Foodist’s Guide in 2008, and truth be told, I’m too lazy to go through it and update all my personal details. I don’t live in California anymore. I’m not married anymore. I’m no longer researching my novel because I’ve already published it. I also opted not to change all the contributors’ personal details, because we are all on a continuing journey. What’s personally accurate at the moment of publication may not always remain true. I prefer to let people tell their own stories, and readers can find those stories by following the included links.

Aside from the lazy factor, though, I decided not to revise The Lazy Raw Foodist’s Guide because I still very much believe in its premise. I wrote that ebook in answer to so many of the same questions from clients and friends. I wanted to share basic, often overlooked information that would help others take responsibility for their own dietary choices and health. This remains my mission, and I’ve never advocated a single diet for all people — or even a single, unchanging diet for one person! People change. Situations change. Earth Changes!

And so, rather than advocating or condemning one particular way of eating, I thought I’d focus on the big underlying questions of “why can’t I be vegan anymore?” “why now?” and “why such a worldwide trend?” I’m also receiving a run of questions from people who never viewed themselves as veg-friendly, wondering how and why on Earth they’re feeling led to a meat-free lifestyle now. In all cases, the shift itself seems to cause more internal agony than what foods people actually end up choosing. We tend to define ourselves by what we eat, especially once dietary choices become “ethical.”

Introducing consciousness around food can alter us in positive ways from the inside out. We are what we eat. Food can affect our vibration, the clarity with which we send and receive information, and how we build our cells. But we are also much more than what we eat!

For many people, going high raw, 100% raw or juice feasting/fasting allowed them to get back in touch with their own intuition. It also plugged them in to a ready made community (even if just online) of people interested in natural living, planet Earth, holistic healing, spirituality, art, and visionary thinking. Gaining strength in numbers and confidence through weight loss, an improved appearance and a sense of being on the cutting edge accounted for much of the explosion of raw veganism in 2007 and 2008. And don’t forget the cacao! Regardless of personal stance on raw chocolate(poison or panacea?), it’s difficult to imagine raw food having caught on so thoroughly without these pods, powders and nibs of bliss.

So what changed?

Hey, what hasn’t? The shifts between 2008 and 2011 have been incredible. Bill Clinton turned vegan. Oprah did a 30-day vegan challenge. Kris Carr became a bestselling author and sensational speaker. Some Starbucks carry Two Mom’s in the Raw Granola. On the other hand, we’ve got the FDA and its European counterpart approving GM foods, not requiring them to be labeled, and inexplicably declaring things like mesquite a “novel” food. Um… GM alfalfa is new — and approved — but mesquite, the traditional Native American food consumed for centuries, has just been declared “novel” and therefore no longer legally sold in Europe. In April of this year, Europe will also crack down on the legal sale of herbs, many of which have been used for millenia.

I’ve written about this dynamic before in my article, “Monsanto, DNA and Evolutionary Backwash,” but the dynamic plays out in other ways. The people ruling this world may be all manner of icky, self-centered-things-that-make-ya-go-ewwww, but one thing they know is the Law of Attraction. Get people in fighting mode about foods and people start attracting fights all over the place. Pretty soon they’re in-fighting amongst themselves. This faction of highly prolific online writers formerly united by food and a reasonably collective, more idyllic vision of the world, starts to break down. They get distracted. And then Big Pharma, the FDA and the powerful few continue to slip things in to control and exploit the many.

It really doesn’t take much to create a downward manifestation spiral, especially when dealing with people who’ve awakened to their own intuitive and manfestation gifts. You always attract what you most think about, but people who’ve managed to amp up their vibes and practice creating in big ways, attract more dramatic things, and they attract these dramatic things faster. The Bible has a saying that’s always jumped out at me, “from those to whom much has been given, much will be required.” During most of my life, my response went something like this, “Um, I don’t know that I can meet those requirements, so maybe just don’t give me so much, OK?” Multiple head injuries and a decade as a Medical Intuitive later, I’ve come to accept both the gifts and the joys of regiving and forgiving. I’ve watched countless others do the same, including many prominent raw food bloggers, authors and speakers.

Here’s the tricky part that so many people find themselves navigating right now: Sometimes the effort to eat without harming anyone or anything ends up harming oneself, either through nutritional deficiencies, self-judgment, or both. In that case, the concept of unconditional compassion becomes even more important. Taking into account all the known factors and options, consider offering your decision for the highest good of all. It may be that the effort, energy, cost and attention required to keep you most compassionate in one area, ultimately detracts so much of what you have to offer in other areas that the choice becomes obvious. Being OK with that choice then becomes a practice in non-attachment and a willingness to do whatever you need to do in order to create the world you love.

February 10, 2011 marked the first day of the last cycle of the Mayan Calendar. No one really knows what this means because the outcome remains in flux. We as individuals and especially as a collective consciousness exert such powerful influence over how this “shift” goes down. Will it be peaceful? Will mass disasters destroy civilization? Will we realize it as a unique event or will things just slowly seem different? I don’t know. It really depends a great deal on personal and mass consciousness. Do we focus on love or fear? Unconditional compassion or judgment? How we choose to live our moments, adding one on top of another, gradually moves mountains. The shift will happen, but how it happens depends a great deal on what we allow to engage our imagination.

Regarding vegans eating animal products again: I view this as a temporary means of rooting extra deep into the Earth — of getting extra grounded and physically charged in order to blast into a totally different vibe. Along with the move towards animal products, the concept of “grounding” gets thrown around a lot these days. “Walk barefoot.” “Protect yourself from EMF’s.” “Hug a tree.” “Heal and ground yourself with a crystal Biomat.” In addition to grounding, we hear all sorts of things about minerals. Shilajit, chaga, reishi, and Himalayan Sea Salt have become so popular because of their deep, rich mineral content. Where do minerals come from? Deep inside the Earth.

Intuitively, I feel this trend towards animal products illustrates more about the intense call to ground ourselves than about health issues or a sudden disregard for animal welfare. Health issues may present the final, irrefutable nudge for some people, but overall I see a trend of humanity needing to reconnect and fasten themselves tightly to the Earth. Part of this makes sense, as we have been disconnected for millenia from an additional chakra that runs about six feet beneath the surface of the Earth. Known as the Telluric Current, this energy forms a grid that can connect us all to deep Earth love and wisdom.

I feel this is an evolutionary step, but not the final destination. In order for a tree to grow tall and strong, it needs strong roots. It may need to reach down deep in order to find the water and nutrients it needs for thriving in a harsh environment. As a species, we are living in a harsh environment right now. We are looking to “Ascend” or reach higher and higher. In order to do so under harsh conditions, some of us will need to reach extra deep. In some cases this means emotionally. In others it may mean physically. If we hold onto a greater vision of the world we’d love to create, then the question becomes are we willing to do whatever it takes to bring that world into being? Are we willing to do what it takes to strengthen our resolve, even if the means seem counterintuitive? Are we willing to follow the still small voice inside that knows where to step on each leg of the journey? Are we willing to have faith — by definition “a sure and certain belief in things unseen?”

I also invite you to consider the energy around self-judgment and limiting what we consider acceptable or unacceptable foods for ourselves. We live in an age when the government continues to usurp our rights to eat whatever we want to eat and grow our own organic foods. The FDA routinely raids dairies who make raw milk available to people who use it for healing purposes, and the FDA tries to regulate or eliminate all manner of herbs and natural supplements that could help people heal on their own. If we long for freedom of choice, then the vibe of personal denial sends out a cross message. We may ask for freedom, but a body that craves a food that the mind denies it begins to vibe with “we the people who no longer have access to the foods we want and need.” We are powerful creators, and we need to consider what we really, truly want to manifest — staying vigilant that our dominant feelings align with what we say we want to create.

To summarize, I do and I don’t know why so many vegans have recently turned to animal products. Each person has his or her own story and unique circumstances. But when I notice a global trend that happens to coincide with other global trends, I find it interesting. Can I prove the Telluric Current exists? Nope, not yet anyway. Are others aware of it? You betcha. Humans are set to make an evolutionary leap that will transform everything about planet Earth. Why do you think those in control spend so much time and energy trying to manipulate our DNA with GM foods, pesticides, GM organisms, etc.? Yeah, they have power. But we — you and me and each person you know — have more. We have the power of our minds, our hearts and our imaginations. As Buddha says, “All that we are is the result of what we have thought.”

There are books that should come with a warning label. If I think of some of the books I’ve read recently, there was definitely at least one that should have had an “Attention! Might put you to sleep!” sticker. “Handle with care! Incendiary!” would have been the right one for another recently read book. “Schizandra and the Gates of Mu” by Laura Bruno should come with a brightly colored label saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts…”

The story of a 13-year-old named Schizandra starts with a bang. She’s recently orphaned and has to move to Sedona, where her grandmother lives. On a seemingly ordinary school day she faints during a biology class and enters a coma-like state. And so the wild ride begins. While they are trying to take her out of Sedona, it seems that Sedona does not want to let her go. Two helicopters malfunction, and so does an ambulance. It looks as if Schizandra is meant to stay. An incredible cast of wonderfully colorful characters gathers around Schizandra, all trying to help her wake up, since the future of the entire human race depends on that — her grandmother, the midwife; twin maiden aunts, whose chosen profession is reflexology; a handsome, brave and intuitive pilot; a Navajo, speaking of curses; a Japanese-Native American schoolboy. While they are trying to bring her back, Schizandra is in a different world, meeting and encountering some really vibrant creatures — shape-shifting strange frogs, drinking chocolate and munching on cocoa pods; talking crystals; a healer rabbit; a yellow, dancing hummingbird. And there’s talk about all kinds of extraordinary matters — Lemuria, also known as Mu; evolution of human race; people as portals; the true meaning of 2012. The list is never ending…

I’ve enormously enjoyed this book. The characters were unique, quirky and likeable. The dialogue was fresh, fluid and captivating. The storyline was compelling and moved at a fast, yet not frenetic pace. The subjects discussed in the book were diverse, and several made me interested in learning more about them, particularly the “end of the world” according to the Mayan calendar and the true meaning of it.

Mystical, magical and totally enchanting, this story opened up a world that I was not ready to leave behind yet. I am truly looking forward to the sequel, and hoping there will be several of those coming out shortly. I highly recommend “Schizandra and the Gates of Mu” to readers of all ages who are interested in true mysteries, New Age, astrology, fantasy worlds and prophesies, as well as to anybody who simply enjoys a well-written story. Laura Bruno will not disappoint you.
