My March 2023 Forecast shared:
March 20 Sun enters Aries. Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, Autumn Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. Venus conjuncts the True North Node today. This meeting occurs in her home sign of Taurus, giving Venus even more strength and grace than usual. Fresh, new energy infuses the world, especially in areas of love, money, self-esteem, physicality and the arts. In addition to Venus, Juno (the wife of the zodiac) also conjuncts the North Node, bringing extra emphasis to destiny level romantic relationships and marriage.
March 21 New Moon in Aries at 1:23 p.m. Eastern US time. This New Moon occurs in the very first degree of the first sign of the zodiac. It marks a true reset for the entire world. The 1:23 timestamp gives those in the Eastern US timezone an extra blast of “Go Time!”
At the time of this New Moon in Aries, we have a stellium in Aries: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Chiron and Jupiter. All that Aries drives us into bold new energies.
Venus conjunct North Node and Juno in Taurus remains in effect. Despite all the Aries, this is also an auspicious time to begin a relationship or to take the next step toward commitment in an existing love connection. On the collective level, we need to beware of jealousy, envy and feeling “less than.” Aries is a sign of the ego and forging ahead, whereas Taurus wants to settle down. How might commitment to relationship help us to move forward? This question includes collaboration (especially in the arts), not just romantic relationships.
The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon in Aries is:
(ARIES 1°): A WOMAN JUST RISEN FROM THE SEA. A SEAL IS EMBRACING HER. KEYNOTE: Emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness. .
This symbol reminds me of Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. Dane Rudhyar adds context:
“[T]he seal is a mammal which once had experienced a biological, evolutionary but relatively unconscious emergence, yet which retraced its steps and “returned to the womb” of the sea. The seal, therefore, represents a regressive step. It embraces the Woman who has emerged, because every emergent process at first is susceptible to failure. This process is indeed surrounded by the memory, the ghosts of past failures during previous cycles. The impulse upward is held back by regressive fear or insecurity; the issue of the conflict depends on the relative strength of the future-ward and the past-ward forces.
The possibility of success and that of failure is implied throughout the entire process of actualization. Every release of potentiality contains this two-fold possibility. It inevitably opens up two paths: one leads to “perfection” in consciousness, the other to “disintegration” – the return to the undifferentiated state …
This symbol characterizes the first of five stages which are repeated at three levels. This stage represents the initial statement, or theme, of the five-fold series which refers to the first level: IMPULSE TO BE.
In other words, yes, it’s “Go Time,” but we’re starting a marathon, not a sprint. Whatever begins to unfold will take awhile to hit its stride. Look for signs of the new, so that you recognize openings when they first appear. This will allow faster movement with less frustration.
Set for Washington, D.C., the New Moon closely conjuncts the Midheaven. This suggests recognizable new beginnings for the United States.
The New Moon in Aries opposes Ceres and Osiris in 0+ Libra and Dionysus at 1+ Libra. All three asteroids deal in some way with love, loss, death, and regeneration. At the New Moon in Capricorn on December 23, 2022, they formed one of the squares of an intense Cardinal Grand Cross. Now they oppose the Equinox and New Moon energies. In order to move forward we need to free ourselves from clinging to the old.
We find assistance from Manwe at 1+ Aries. In Tolkien’s mythology, Manwe was a sky god, completely pure and free of evil.
Jupiter remains loosely conjunct Chiron. (The exact conjunction occurred on March 12.) This aspect reminds us to turn any intensity into big opportunities for healing.
Start something new to cash in on the fresh energies, but remember, this is only the first of an unusual two New Moons in Aries this year. If you don’t initiate everything this month, you’ll have a second chance on April 20–and that’s an Eclipse! Also, if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the video I made on this March 21 New Moon in Aries. That video focuses even more on the Venus/Juno/North Node conjunction and the magical Selkie energies. Blessings abound!
