For those who’ve been following and have continued to send prayers, energy and love for the reuniting of Harry Manx and his beloved Mohan Veena, here’s a joyful update!

One happy Harry Manx!

One happy Harry Manx!

“Beloved friends, My Veena Has Been Found! On Monday the 24th, the man who stole my Mohan Veena at Chicago O’Hara Airport was caught while trying to steal more luggage. He eventually gave up the location of the instrument and it was recovered. The police now have it in their possession. I plan to return to Chicago next Tuesday to pick it up. There’s no way for me to express the gratitude I have to everyone for helping out, but I would like to say that the generous outpouring of support has uplifted my spirits and renewed my faith in the kindness of strangers. love to all, in gratitude.”

Update on Harry Manx and the Mohan Veena

Just wanted to post this follow-up on the Harry Manx story: “Unique guitar taken at O’Hare; its owner gets lots of love in return.” This headline comes from a heartwarming story in the Chicago Tribune, which details how his Facebook post about the missing Mohan Veena has received 3.5 million views.

Three people offered to make him a new Mohan Veena, and he already has one on the way from India. Chicago locals are scouring pawn shops and Craigslist. Tens of thousands of people have sent Harry personal messages of love, prayer and support. He has felt such an outpouring of love that “I sort of think it’s a fair trade,” said Manx. “He can have the Veena, I’ll take the love I have here. That’s probably worth more than the instrument. At the end of the day, it’s just wood.”

You can read the full story by clicking here. I just wanted to share a follow-up so that all the people who sent love, Reiki, prayers, Runes and kind words to Harry would know that such things add up. As David said this morning, “When bad things happen to good people, the world gives them an enormous outpouring of love.” I also noted that it was Harry’s vulnerable heartfelt plea that touched people. Baring your heart takes courage, but El Mundo Bueno rewards that sort of thing. We are loved. Deeply, deeply loved.

Harry Manx ~ The Mohan Veena is Missing

“Beloved friends, with a heavy heart I want to tell you all that this morning at Chicago Ohara airport, while I was on my way to retrieving my luggage, someone stole my beloved Mohan Veena (pictured to the left of me). Security cameras showed a man pick it up and walk out. I’ve had that Veena more than 20years. There’s hardly been a day that I haven’t played it. I feel as though I’ve lost a good friend. I need everyone’s help to find it. If you know someone in Chicago, tell them about it. Maybe it will surface on Craigslist or E-bay. Maybe in a music store or Pawn shop. There’s no missing it. The Veena is in a Black Fibreglass Case with lots of stickers. And the Veena has 20 Strings, 2 layers of strings running parallel. It has tuning heads right down the neck. No other instrument looks like this. I’m grateful for any help. Thanks, Harry”

Harry Manx

This comes just weeks after someone stole a Stradivarius violin from the Milwaukee Symphony. Knowing how musicians develop relationships with their instruments, such thefts are beyond cruel and tragic. David and I heard Harry Manx play at Stoughton Opera House, near Madison, WI. Please keep an eye out for the Mohan Veena, and send some extra love and magnetism to help reunite these two.
