Syrian Girl on the Refugee Crisis

I’ve always enjoyed Syrian Girl’s passionate, insider reports on what’s happening in Syria and now with the refugees. She’s a strong soul to maintain such beautiful, clear energy amidst all the chaos and witnessing her beloved country crumbling around her. I appreciate the balance of this video, which interviews individual Syrians — refugees in their own country as well as abroad — but also looks at the larger global agendas and disinformation.

In particular, Syrian Girl exposes the fact that the majority of the refugees in this crisis are not Syrian nor even from the Levant region. She also explains the high quality of life that Syrians enjoyed prior to the US-manipulated “civil war” there. I’ve seen similar videos regarding Libya pre-2011’s illegal invasion by the US, although not from anyone as articulate and compassionate as Syrian Girl. She also offers potential solutions that each individual can do, ways to act from compassion that truly do help Syrians instead of simply fueling the elite’s twisted agenda. Even though this video was posted back on September 9, it’s still a must-watch, imho.

Zen Gardner ~ The Carefully Calculated Mass Imigration Agenda

This is a good article from Zen Gardner regarding something that has remained keenly on my radar for years, but especially in recent weeks when I’ve awakened most mornings from dreams of refugees. Loads and loads of refugees, not just from Latin America and Syria, but from other parts of the US and the rest of the world. I’ve long known that banksters and totalitarian governments employ the trauma of dislocation and relocation as a means of anchoring in their own psychopathic control. It’s far easier to dominate people struggling for survival who have lost their sense of identity.

Just as individual narcissists alienate individual victims from their friends, family members and cultural heritage, so the psycho globalists use the same methods, but on a national scale, crushing entire societies in preparation for their predetermined “solutions” to problems and reactions they created. Anyone aware of the narcissist playbook will not find it a stretch to recognize how they’ve upped the ante.

Here in the US, we’ve got “an illegal alien” problem with enormously divisive reactions from all sides. For those wanting to learn more about how this happened, I recommend exploring the Beehive Design Collective and also watching the documentary film, “Food Chains,” which explores the current day slavery in the US farming and supermarket business, triggered by globalist treaties like NAFTA, championed by “free trade” advocates like the WTO.

It’s truly alarming to watch that film, and doing so answered the nagging question I’d had regarding why the media allows Donald Trump to spout off about “deporting all the illegals” when flooding the US with immigrants is part of the overall agenda. When you see the slave or slave-like conditions of the (mostly illegal immigrant) people who harvest US produce, you’ll quickly realize that the opposite action — deporting all the illegals — would also immediately trigger a famine and economic collapse in the US, just like the banksters and globalist military industrial corporate complex have been trying to orchestrate. Donald Trump is no savior, and as Zen explains, the immigration situations in the US and Europe are no accidents.

Anyway, here’s Zen’s passionate article (one F-bomb warning towards the end for those readers who prefer to avoid such things). IMHO, well worth the read. If this all sounds too far fetched, I suggest further background reading on the official use of dislocation as a means of control by reading it straight from the bankster’s mouths in their Bankers Manifesto of 1892. The false right-left political paradigm and the removal of people from their homes in order to demoralize them and thereby make easier to control form the foundation of that official document first leaked in 1892.

The Carefully Calculated Mass Migration Agenda

This mass migration plan has been in the works for a long time, but they’re kicking it up several serious notches now, flooding the US borders while continuing to swarm European countries with any immigrants they can from a variety of cultures.

What and who is behind it?

Clearly staged US/NATO/Israeli sponsored terrorism and genocide are at work in the middle east, driving desperate people to seek asylum elsewhere, as the US mandates inviting in as many as possible over its southern border. And all in concert.

As usual, they give themselves away in their own documents and bloated speeches to their own inner circle. In particular, United Nations globalist fat cat Peter Sutherland, non-executive Chairman of Goldman Sachs and former BP CEO, never mind top Bilderberger and Trilateral Commission honcho, has come right out and stated their plan as plainly and arrogantly as possible.

_61034137_sutherland

It’s not clear that the comment made by last week by Peter Sutherland, the UN’s special representative for migration, really counts as a “gaffe,” since Sutherland seems to have no sense that what he said might have been disturbing.

Sutherland was speaking to the British House of Lords, according to a BBC report published last Thursday, and said that the European Union should “do its best to undermine” the “homogeneity” of its member states, because “the future prosperity of many EU states depended on them becoming multicultural.”

He also, according to the Beeb, suggested “the UK government’s immigration policy had no basis in international law.” (Kind of a novel interpretation of the authority of international law over a state’s control of its borders, but that wasn’t the worst of it.)

The report goes on:

Mr Sutherland, who is non-executive chairman of Goldman Sachs International and a former chairman of oil giant BP, heads the Global Forum on Migration and Development, which brings together representatives of 160 nations to share policy ideas.

He told the House of Lords committee migration was a “crucial dynamic for economic growth” in some EU nations “however difficult it may be to explain this to the citizens of those states”.

Yes, I bet it is hard to explain to those citizens, especially when the UN rep looks like he’s in cahoots with the EU to deliberately flood and multi-culturalize Europe via outside populations. Sutherland’s answer, of course, is that this is purely an economic problem (and where have we heard that before?)

An aging or declining native population in countries like Germany or southern EU states was the “key argument and, I hesitate to use the word because people have attacked it, for the development of multicultural states”, he added.

“It’s impossible to consider that the degree of homogeneity which is implied by the other argument can survive because states have to become more open states, in terms of the people who inhabit them. Just as the United Kingdom has demonstrated.”

[Sutherland] told the committee: “The United States, or Australia and New Zealand, are migrant societies and therefore they accommodate more readily those from other backgrounds than we do ourselves, who still nurse a sense of our homogeneity and difference from others.”

“And that’s precisely what the European Union, in my view, should be doing its best to undermine.” [emphasis mine]

That’s pretty straightforward, to say the least. Where does he get his hubris? They’ve been doing this for a long time whether local officials want it or not.

The implementation of United Nations Agenda 21 and other programs such as Codex Alimentarius have been eroding society’s fabric behind the scenes like termites eating out a building’s infrastructure. All while bankster backed globalists mastermind the various tentacles manipulating humanity via their multinational banking, political and corporate stooges.

It’s important to note that the UN Sustainability 2030 Program is set to be ratified by the UN later this month. A major step up.

Coincidence? Not on your life.

The Planned Immigration Crisis

Again, the plan has been in effect for quite some time, breaking down American borders and homogenizing their weakened populace in a deliberately devastated economy being more militarized by the day in preparation for a societal breakdown, the very one they’ve engineered. Just as in Europe.

In addition, it is bringing massive division in America as they once again employ the age old totalitarian maxim to “divide and conquer.”

Here’s how they’ve led up to now in the US:

Behind the endless throngs of desperate Central American children arriving on the U.S. border and a steady wave of illegal immigrants from Mexico and beyond is a covert plan for global economic warfare — those building up the world of globalization are tearing down the sovereignty and financial strength of the United States and Europe to make way for the coming corporate new world order.

A generation of sending American jobs offshore under NAFTA, GATT and the WTO, dumping cheap corn on Mexico thereby destroying millions of farming jobs and unleashing disruptive retailers like Wal-Mart upon the fragile economies of Latin America have created turmoil, uncertainty and rivers of human migration… and along with it bitter tension and discord over the dynamics of immigration, illegal immigration and the struggle for a lasting standard of living under the New World Order.

The globalist plan to wreck our national sovereignty has been unfolding for awhile now…things are just speeding up in recent months.

EU Overload

This rapidly unfolding development defies any sense of sovereignty, as clearly intended. The sense of insecurity and outrage is palpable in regular citizens as this unabated, uncontrolled onslaught continues. While besieged countries of course seek refuge from their economically and militarily bombarded societies, the western nations perpetrating these attacks are on one hand publicly appalled at their “invasion” and desire to flee their devastated homelands, while with the other encouraging this very phenomenon.

Your typical Freemasonic playing of both sides of the chess game. That’s simply how they work, and always have. The unwitting are caught up in a cognitive dissonant state of choosing either false side, which shuts down mental rationality and intuitive understanding. In most – but not all.

But what would you do in the face of seeing super powers contesting over your very soil and homeland while at the same time destroying it? Would you sit there with your loved ones simply observing and hoping for the best? Or would you flee for seemingly safer grounds?

Brazen Bullshit and Tossing Wrenches

That’s the question to ask those refusing to wake up as we point out these obvious truths. The awakening lights fires under people and that’s a good thing, to get them off the fence and out of their perilous stunned and bewildered state. There’s no place more dangerous than not only being on the defensive, but in a condition of fear and confusion. Never mind a place under immediate attack, something about which most of the modern western world has no clue.

Yet.

That makes sitting ducks out of unaware individuals. But the tide is turning.

These entities are now pushing their programs with abject impunity while humanity tries to wrestle with these issues on a corrupt, futile, and inept political level. It won’t be until they fully grasp the big picture of what is being perpetrated that the people will have a true awareness of the scope of humanity’s planned takeover and the importance of not feeding the beast with their energy and cooperation any longer.

And standing strong in that awareness while pushing back in every way possible.

Knowledge and understanding eradicate fear, which is why their media minions make it so hard to connect the dots. But their illusive veil is coming down at a terrific rate now and I expect we’re going to see some serious wrenches thrown into their machinery. And it comes through awake and aware individuals.

You, and me.

To empower others with the truth is our most important duty, especially at this perilous time in history.

Keep on no matter what. And don’t fall for the fear and confusion agenda. They’ll be turning it up more and more so be on your toes and keep your vibrations high.

And chuck a few wrenches into their insane machinery while you’re at it.

Every wrench counts! Let’s grind this fucking beast to a halt. Gather some fortitude and do something radical. Their machinery is exposed and vulnerable. Let’s do some damage in any way we feel compelled. Lob the unexpected of any sort into any situation you can. Let them handle the results.

After all, that’s what they do to us. Nothing unauthorized going on here! :)

Now go have a nice day.

Much love, Zen

John Beckett ~ Unfortunate Effects of Joseph Campbell

I love Joseph Campbell, too, but I found this post by John Beckett quite timely, in that he pushes back against the implementation of a “monomyth” at a time of fairly strong pressure to lump everything into one pot. While I love the rising recognition of our planet as a primal and holy force, I also feel caution that we don’t lose subtlety, uniqueness and local culture in our search for the one, the only, the all-encompassing, authoritative global myth.

Does a “Mythos for Planetary Culture” really require that we all believe the exact same thing? Or could we love our planet, recognize Her divinity and inherent value, yet go even deeper into our local heritage, the local spirits of place, and those Elemental and energetic beings who unfurl the veils, through engaging a very much embodied Nature, rather than an abstract concept of the One True Myth that supplants all other myths? Doesn’t that sound just a tiny bit like … (gasp!) the “elite”‘s coveted One World Religion? Are we so afraid of our differences that we can only integrate them by painting over everything with a different colored but still monochromatic brush?

A few highlights from John’s article:

“In his search for universal themes, Campbell combined and conflated widely differing myths into a ‘monomyth’ – a soft polytheism of mythology that claims all myths are aspects of One Myth. One critic called this ‘a (Joseph) Campbell soup of myths that loses all local flavor.’”

“Another source of confusion is our evolutionary instinct to divide everything into good/bad, helpful/harmful, like me/Other. When we get to know people of different religions and we see they’re basically good, we move them from the ‘Other’ category to the ‘like me’ category. And if someone else is ‘like me’ then I may assume that deep down they must be seeking the same things I seek. This is not an accurate assumption.”

“We don’t have to say ‘deep down you’re just like me’ in order to get along with another person or a different religion. We don’t have to assume they’re seeking the same things in different ways. We just have to respect their inherent dignity and worth and trust they’ll do the same for us.”

As always, I enjoy John’s unpacking and rearranging of commonly accepted beliefs and structures. His process, as much as anything he concludes, offers an excellent antidote to that collectivist urge to erase all differences into a homogenous blob, instead of learning to recognize and celebrate the vastness of Nature, Imagination and the ever unfolding Creation. 9/11: The Mother of All Big Lies

“I was listening to the local KQED “public radio” broadcast today and not even one slight HINT or inference that 9/11 was anything but what we’ve been brainwashed and “propaganda-ized” to beLIEve.  It’s encouraging to see so many stories starting to break through the thick walls of controlled media, and public denial and unconsciousness.  One day soon, there will be no way forward for the media, other than to report the TRUTH and the FACTS.  Let people think what they will, but at least…get the facts of all sides, out there.  That will require the factions and cabals be brought down somehow.  It will be a FUN SHOW, no doubt!  There was a time when we who “know” thought we were insane and even doubted our own research…  but there are so many of us that know, have known and are finding out now, that there is comfort in numbers.  I use the public guide as a “consciousness indicator”.  The longer it takes for John Q. Public to wake up, the more extreme and dramatic the new wave of False Flags…  it must be quite a huge power trip to know that you’ve been pulling off the biggest heists and scandals/lies, tragedies, right under the public’s noses…and all you have to do is show a family BBQ and a red, white and blue flag and say, “Got Patriotism?”
S A D.
“It’s really tragic to hear the drums of war beating AGAIN, now from Obama…  the cabal(s) won’t rest until the planet is completely submerged in controls, death and submission.  That much we can be assured of:  if we do not awaken to what’s happening, the events WILL become larger, more incomprehensible and fear full.” ~ Lance White (and I agree) introducing this article to his readers:

9/11: The Mother of All Big Lies

by Stephen Lendman911

They’re an American tradition. They date from the republic’s inception. Notable ones began in the mid-19th century.

They facilitated annexing Texas. Half of Mexico followed. America became Cuba’s colonial power.

Controlling the Philippines, Guam, Samoa, Hawaii, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Canal Zone, Puerto Rico and other territories followed.

In 1917, Woodrow Wilson manipulated public sentiment. He did so with Big Lies.

They turned most Americans into raging German haters. Big Lies work this way. Wilson got the war he wanted.

FDR manipulated Japan to attack Pearl Harbor. Doing so let him wage war.

He had to convince Congress and a pacifist public to go along.

What better way than by manufacturing terror.

Washington and Seoul conspired against Pyongyang. Numerous 1949/1950 cross-border incursions provoked its June response. Truman got the war he wanted.

War against North Vietnam followed the fake August 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incident. Congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. Doing so authorized war without declaring it.

Reagan’s 1983 Grenada invasion had nothing to do with rescuing US medical students. It was about replacing leftist New Jewel Movement governance with pro-Western stooge allies.

In December 1989, manufactured incidents precipitated America’s Panama invasion. Former US ally Manuel Noriega was deposed. At issue was forgetting who’s boss.

In August 1990, Washington colluded with Kuwait’s al-Sabah monarchy. Saddam Hussein was entrapped to invade.

In January 1991, the Gulf War followed. Over two decades of sanctions, war, occupation, and destruction of the “cradle of civilization” followed.

It bears repeating. 9/11 is the mother of all Big Lies. Thirteen years of imperial wars followed.

They continue. One country after another is targeted. Ravaging, destroying, colonizing, exploiting and controlling them reflect official US policy.

Homeland wars target Muslims, people of color, Latino immigrants and working Americans.

Award-winning author David Ray Griffin researched 9/11 exhaustively. He did so in 10 books, many articles and lectures. He provided vital evidence too important to ignore.

In April 2006, he discussed “9/11: The Myth and the Reality,” saying:

“It would seem, for many reasons, that the official story of 9/11, which has served as a religious Myth in the intervening years (and still does), is a myth in the pejorative sense of a story that does not correspond to reality.”

In September 2008, Griffin headlined “September 11, 2001: 21 Reasons to Question the Official Story about 9/11.”

The FBI admitted it “ha(d) no hard evidence connecting” 9/11 to bin Laden.

So-called devout Muslim alleged hijackers drank heavily, frequented strip clubs and paid for sex.

Technology in 2001 made cell phone calls made from above 30,000 feet impossible.

The FBI lied claiming Mohamed Atta’s left behind luggage contained “decisive evidence” about Al Qaeda responsibility for the attacks.

Passports allegedly found at United 93′s crash site were fake.

Alleged hijackers weren’t aboard the four fateful flights.

Standing operating intercept procedures weren’t followed.

Then Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta said Dick Cheney “apparently confirmed a stand-down order” prior to an alleged plane striking the Pentagon.

The 9/11 whitewash Commission deleted Mineta’s comment from its official report.

Secret Service agents let Bush remain at a Sarasota, FL school for 30 minutes after learning about the second twin tower strike.

Standard procedure calls for securing his safety immediately in case of potential danger.

Jet fuel doesn’t heat high enough to melt or cause rigid steel columns to crumble.

Doing so is “scientifically impossible.” Controlled demolitions destroyed both towers. Building 7 fell the same way. Griffin explained other Big Lies.

He concluded saying growing numbers of “physicists, chemists, architects, engineers, pilots, former military officers, and former intelligence officers reject the official 9/11 myth.”

In June 2010, he headlined “Did 9/11 Justify the War in Afghanistan?”

Asking is verboten. It’s “off-limits,” said Griffin. It’s “not to be raised in polite company, and certainly not in the mainstream media.”

It’s forbidden “to ask whether the original invasion was justified by the 9/11 attacks.”

No evidence linked them to Afghanistan. Attacking a country posing America no threat is lawless aggression.

War without mercy continues. It does so without Security Council authorization, Griffin explained. Claims otherwise are false.

No moral justification for war exists. Contrary arguments were Big Lies. America decided to invade Afghanistan two months before 9/11, said Griffin.

Reasons for doing so differ from official Big Lies. Invading had nothing to do with “captur(ing) or kill(ing) Osama bin Laden,” Griffin explained.

Or defeating Al Qaeda. Or other nonexistent threats.

It was about advancing America’s imperium. It was to colonize and control a strategic territory.

Afghanistan is a geopolitical prize. At issue is controlling Eurasia’s vast oil, gas and other resources.

It’s controlling the world’s largest opium supply. It floods global markets with heroin.

It provides enormous profits for Wall Street. It gives CIA access to billions of dollars in elicit drug money.

Occupied Afghanistan gives America a strategically located land-based aircraft carrier. It’s part of Washington’s plan to encircle Russia and China with bases.

9/11 was a convenient pretext. It was the mother of all Big Lies. Wars without end followed.

Griffin calls America’s Afghan war “an abomination.” The “official rationale (given) is a lie. We are there for other reasons,” he stressed

No legal or moral justification exists. “The fact that the official story is a lie makes (America’s) war crimes even worse.” They continue daily out of sight and mind.

In his book “Freedom Next Time: Resisting the Empire,” John Pilger called Afghanistan “the grand illusion of the American cause.”

At the same time, “(t)rough all the humanitarian crises in living memory, no country has been abused and suffered more, and none has been helped less, than Afghanistan,” he said.

America’s presence exacerbates horrific conditions. Death, destruction and daily violence persist. They haunt daily life. Human misery is extreme.

Peace, stability and freedom remain distant hopes. Maybe “next time,” says Pilger. For sure no time soon.

Not as long as permanent US occupation continues. America has no plans to leave.

On Thursday, September 11, this writer’s Progressive Radio News Hour features new Consensus 9/11 information.

Elizabeth Woodworth will discuss it. She’ll explain newly discovered truths. “Best evidence” proof is presented. It dispels official Big Lies. Consensus 9/11 is founded on:

“(1) The opinions of respected authorities, based on professional experience, descriptive studies, and reports of expert committees.

(2) Physical data in the form of photographs, videotapes, court testimony, witness reports, and FOIA releases.

(3) Direct rather than circumstantial evidence.”

It’s based on “integrating individual professional expertise with the best available documentary and scientific evidence.”

Doing so is similar to how doctors diagnose illnesses. It’s how forecasts based on best judgments are made.

Revisions based on new evidence are encouraged. Doing so reveals important truths.

No airliner black boxes were found at the World Trade Center site. New evidence refutes the official claim. Woodworth will explain.

Over a three-year period, 24 Consensus 9/11 panel members produced 44 peer-reviewed Big Truths. They refute official Big Lies.

New information keeps surfacing. Consensus 9/11 is dedicated to explaining what everyone needs to know.

For example, 10 so-called Muslim hijackers allegedly broke into the cockpits of four aircraft. Supposedly they commandeered them.

Yet none of the pilots or co-pilots “squawked” the 7500 hijack code. Nor does proof exist to verify numerous other official Big Lies.

9/11 is the mother of all them all. Truth is its mortal enemy. Revealing it is crucially important. Spreading it lets many others know.

Growing numbers of Americans and others worldwide reject the official 9/11 myth.

They do so for good reason. It’s a bald-faced lie. It’s by far the most harmful one in living memory.

Millions of corpses attest to America’s barbarity. The mother of all Big Lies persists. Imperial wars rage without end.

Freedom in America is dying. Obama targets it for elimination altogether. He presides over a ruthless police state apparatus.

No one is free and safe. Big Brother watches everyone. Mass surveillance is official US policy.

So is targeting anyone resisting US authority. Monied interests alone matter. Advancing America’s imperium serves them.

Whistleblowers exposing government crimes are targeted. Dissent is increasingly criminalized.

Constitutional rights are vanishing in plain sight. The Patriot Act alone eliminated fundamental freedoms. Nancy Chang once asked “(w)hat’s so patriotic about trampling on the Bill of Rights?”

The American dream is more myth than reality. George Carlin once said “(y)ou have to be asleep to believe it.”

Obama won’t prosecute CIA torturers. He facilitates Wall Street grand theft. Corporate crooks run America.

War-profiteering is the national pastime. Thirdworldizing America is official policy. So is waging war on humanity.

Habeas protection no longer exists. Or due process and judicial fairness. Anyone can be criminalized for any reason or none at all.

Police states operate this way. Obama is judge, jury and executioner. He usurped diktat power.

He can claim emergency authority to declare martial law, suspend the Constitution for national security reasons, deploy federal and/or National Guard troops on city streets, and suppress whatever he calls disorder.

Included are peaceful protests. At issue is abolishing fundamental First Amendment rights. Without them all others are at risk.

They include free expression, a free press, public assembly, religious freedom, and right to petition government for redress. No longer.

America is unfit to live in. It’s on a fast track to tyranny. It’s perilously close to full-blown.

Perhaps just another 9/11-type False Flag away. The fullness of time will tell.

“Weird Al Is Getting Activated”

This came in via email from my friend, Mitch today, and I so agree. It’s really brilliant! Parody as a means of bringing out truths too indigestible for mainstream viewers … and yet the symbols and catchy song filter into the subconscious, preparing the masses to swallow the medicine needed to wake the heck up. Genius! (And, LOL, confession time, I misspelled “genious.” Doh!)

Mitch’s comments:

SUBJECT: Weird Al is Getting Activated

First there’s this video, released last week, with 12M views already, the song he’s parodying was the biggest hit of the year in 2013, is he mocking conspiracy theorists? I felt no, although he know’s people may feel he is,he’s being very sly I feel:

Any questions about his motivations are answered with this video released yesterday, it’s a brilliant animated satire on corporate language and their real intentions, this is very subversive stuff for the masses:

Good for him, another positive sign popular artists are getting it and willing to take a stand, I don’t [get] the energy this is disinfo ala Russell Brand

🙂 M

I agree. There’s no call for the next French Revolution here. No call for blood in the streets and complete Statist takeover cloaked in New Age feel good fluff. Just a wake-up call to see beyond the programming of Problem, Reaction, Solution — and because it’s Weird Al, those not ready for it can simply dismiss it as satire.

The Beehive Design Collective Came to Elkhart County

This past Saturday, the Beehive Design Collective honored the People’s History of Elkhart with a two-hour presentation of Mesoamerica Resiste, which I posted about last year. Their wildly (overwhelmingly) successful kickstarter campaign explains the premise of this artist-activist group, so I’ll repost the video here:

I shared the kickstarter video with our Transition Goshen guys, and one of them was so excited about the storytelling potential that he contacted them to come here. Goshen College had hosted them before, but intuitively, I felt the People’s History of Elkhart would be the better match this time. Even though I knew nothing about the People’s History of Elkhart, it turned out to be a great match, because of the wide diversity of people the group attracts. Not only did they host the Beehive Collective, but they also provided homemade food and local musicians at the Historic Roosevelt Center — an old school that locals had fought to keep standing.

The People’s History of Elkhart won that battle, and now the old Roosevelt School houses both apartments above and an active community center below. I spoke with several of the people involved in the battle to save the historic school, and they were so proud of this community center and how it enhances all their lives. The spirit of these locals having stood up for their own tradition in their own community mirrored so well the stories we heard of the resistance to the plan for corporate dominance in Mesoamerica.

Beehive After Event

Above, you can see the huge banners of the completed 9 year political art project. They also used a projector screen to highlight closeups while sharing the stories. They designed Mesoamerica Resiste as a triptych, which means that the artwork opens up like double doors to reveal what’s inside. The banner on the right shows the front “doors” as “Plan Mesoamerica” while the twice as large banner on the left shows the inner resistance to that corporate plan. I loved that the resistance is twice as large as the plan!

That said, it was a sobering presentation. The plan — run by globalist corporations — aims for nothing less than total control of the region between North and South America. As one of the three “Bees” mentioned, “This area has always been ‘in the way.’ Columbus wanted to get to India, and this region also poses major challenges for globalist corporations who want easy transportation between North and South America.”

Under the guise of “free trade” and sometimes even under the guise of “greenwashing,” these ruthless corporations have staged military coups in sovereign nations, robbed land and water from indigenous people, and have built 8-lane highways and bridges in areas where few to none of the locals drive. They’ve erected police state surveillance to monitor “free trade zones,” which sound positive on paper but really mean that no local laws apply there. No workers’ rights, no environmental protections outside of what the corporations dictate, no local say in construction, and no protection for local economies and culture. Hydro-electric dams and railroads disrupt entire ecosystems and countries, and Western media gets pumped through airwaves to further undermine local traditions and identity.

NAFTA and its next generation CAFTA have largely accomplished in Latin America what the TPP and TTIP hope to accomplish in North America, Asia and Europe: complete corporate control over all aspects of life. Listeners learned — perhaps for the first time — about the IMF (International Monetary Fund), World Bank, WTO (World Trade Organization), just how bogus the War on Drugs really is, along with the devastating effects of GMO monoculture farming on the local farmers. Very little of the information was new to me, but I appreciated the elaborate illustrations through fable characters representing major players.

I did have one major light bulb moment at the beginning when a representative from the People’s History of Elkhart shared his own family’s story of being corn farmers in Mexico who had lost their land due to the US GMO-corn dominance policies of NAFTA. He described how the consistent price manipulation of the US GMO crops undercut Mexican corn farmers and eventually made it impossible to compete. Mexico used to outlaw GMO corn, but once “free trade” occurred, this young man’s family needed to leave their generations’ old farm and move to America in search of other work. I had not made the connection between our immigration issues and corporate agricultural dominance in the Americas. I knew about the military coups, but I had not extended that awareness to include the stranglehold of corporations like Monsanto and Chiquita. Watching this presentation really brought home the importance of local food — everywhere. The US fetishes for bananas and coffee carry with them tremendous karmic consequences. David tells me similar political outrage happened in the once sovereign kingdom of Hawaii over Dole pineapples.

The first part of the presentation revealed such grim, depressing information that the Beehive Collective refused to take an intermission, lest people “leave before the good news.” Indeed, many in the audience seemed overwhelmed, and more than a few “listeners” opted to talk throughout the entire presentation! This beyond rude action makes sense when realizing that on some level, people just did not want to have their world view altered. They did not want to take on the responsibility for how their purchases and unconscious lifestyle and habits might directly cause destruction of others’ lives. Ignorance = ignore-ance, and imho, we engage in that behavior at our own peril.

With the TPP and TTIP posed for fast track approval, many “comfortable” “first world” nations may well find themselves the next Mesoamerica. Will we show the strength, creativity and spirit of Mesoamerica Resiste? I don’t know. I hope so, but I’ve found most people prefer ignorance to positive action. Even when I mentioned to several attendees, “THIS is why I have concerns about Agenda 21 being co-opted by corporations like Monsanto. THIS is why I send you links about the TPP and TTIP,” many people just stared at me in awkward silence.

The second part of the presentation shared stories of farmers, teachers and students joining together in organized, yet fluid movements to undermine the colonizer’s agenda. They proclaimed the slogan, “Un No, Muchos Sis,” “one no, many yes’s.” The Beehive Collective spent years interviewing individuals and groups working on the front lines of the resistance. Together, they came up with symbols to represent each group, and Mesoamerica Resiste depicts the tremendous diversity of this region. Dozens of species of ants, trees, bees, birds and other animals use their own characteristics to undermine the globalist machine.

I enjoyed hearing the creative methods of inconvenience, including one group piling up garbage from a corporation in order to block the roads for that corporation to pass through. I also loved how these groups work to unite young and old, preserving the old ways through teaching the local and tribal heritage that corporations attempt to destroy. The three sisters (squash, beans and corn) represent the three main forces fighting together. In the same way that this traditional planting honors the unique qualities of each plant and finds ways to become stronger together, these teachers, students and farmers use their own gifts towards common goals.

The story of the ants blew me away: “A giant swarm of ants comes down the trunk of the Ceiba tree. The ants, like so many other little critters, play an essential role in the ecosystem. Scurrying beneath the dirt, they aerate the soil, making it possible for plants to grow, essentially laying the foundations for life on earth. While these ants seem small compared to the entire forest, they outweigh all other animals and plants combined. The ants remind us that great changes are in the hands of the small and many. Working tirelessly, these miniscule creatures embody the phrase, la revolucion es el trabajo de las homingas (the revolution is ant’s work). Little by little, their collective work has the strength to achieve great transformations, which reminds us that together, we can create tremendous changes in the world around us.

“Some of the ants proudly carry messages from Indigenous communities in southern Mexico who have been slowly and steadily building autonomy for several decades. These sayings are Zapatista principles and also come from their experience of building ‘good government’ councils, which encourage frequent rotation of leadership: ‘lead by obeying’ the people in your community, they advise; ‘work from below, without seeking to rise to power,’ ‘walk by asking questions’ … Each ant is a different species, reminding us that the beauty of the world lies in its diversity of cultures, of languages, of ways of being: ‘we are the same because we are different;’ ‘a world where many worlds fit.’ In the face of so many threats to the diversity of life on this planet, the ants converge at the base of the Ceiba to declare, ‘Ya basta! Enough!'”

Another shocking thing I learned involved bees. We hear about the decline of the honey bee, but few know that honey bees come from Europe and mimic the colonizing of Central America. “As European colonists invaded Central America, they brought with them the invasive European honey bee, which aggressively began to push the native Mesoamerican Stingless bees out of their ecological niche. Today, deforestation, pollution, and industrial farming are destroying habitat and causing the collapse of pollinator species all over Central America. Bees are an indicator species, and the drastic decline of their populations may forecast a larger ecosystem collapse. Restoring native bee populations is vitally important to the health of ecosystems and agriculture globally, and is directly linked to the survival of Indigenous peoples and beekeeping knowledge. Traditional beekeeping is an intimate relationship between bees, people, culture and the land.

Vanilla and stingless bees: Pollinators and the plants they pollinate need each other. Native Melipona bees and the vanilla plant share one of these specific symbiotic relationships. Melipona bees are the only natural pollinators of the delicate vanilla orchid. Without this specialized interaction, vanilla orchids would only survive by hand pollination, making vanilla one of the most labor intensive crops in the world.”

The presentation went on to depict and describe ancestors and spiritual support from unseen forces. Because I already knew the most shocking information described, I found the entire presentation profoundly encouraging. I love that this group of artists dedicated themselves to telling stories that would otherwise remain unspoken in the “comfortable” US. I also love (and practice) the idea of empowered political action through art and story.

If you’ve tried with little success to awaken your local community to both the threats and the potential of our times, you might want to host the Beehive Collective in your city or school. Having hippie-dressed, tattooed, young artists describe the ravages of free trade and greenwashing cuts through the stereotype of “paranoid, right-wing radicals” warning about things like Agenda 21, globalism, water wars, corporate fascism, and the importance of maintaining national, state and local sovereignty. I don’t know that the audience fully grasped the excellent discussion of “fascism in the US government,” but I hope the presentation at least began to scatter seeds.

For those concerned with more local issues such as the impending water wars and land grabs (of which you can find an excellent discussion in the videos below), you can rest assured that the Beehive Collective “gets” it. They displayed other artwork regarding the corporate takeover of water in Maine:

Nestle Maine Water

… with another image acknowledging the World Bank’s quote: “The next world war will be about water.” Unfortunately, that image photographed upside down and will not turn right-side up. I would love to consider that a sign that through conscious local actions, the war agenda will not succeed as planned. 🙂

Walk for Water

Those of you still on the fence about all this “paranoia about globalization” might want to watch the following videos, which describe ways that “green” initiatives and global treaties facilitate illegal land grabs and undermine national, state, and local sovereignty. Awareness does matter. As the Beehive Collective shared, for every one successful pushback of a hydro-electric dam, railroad or highway, perhaps 100 other resistance movements fail, but nonetheless, the resistance has had an effect. As with the delayed TPP agreement, globalization has fallen behind its intended schedule. More time passing allows more people to wake up, and as people wake up, we have the chance to reclaim our power and sovereignty before corporate fascism and globalization homogenize and destroy the beautiful diversity and balance of our planet.

Blessed Be(e)

Note that the BLM euthanized half the remaining “endangered” tortoises they’re claiming to protect. This is not about tortoises, and Cliven Bundy shared some stories about the apparently symbiotic relationship between the tortoise and formerly grazing sheep and cattle. Tortoise population declined sharply when the other ranchers lost their land.

The larger issue concerns an ongoing attack on organic farmers, ranchers and off-grid people living off the land — all in the name of “sustainability,” while undermining actual sustainability. When the BLM or other federal agency claims land and refuses anyone the right to access that land, we lose more and more of our ability to feed ourselves outside of BigAg government control. In California, “easements” and regulations have made it difficult to impossible for some organic farmers to maintain their land. The recent Farm Bill absurdly prohibits organic farmers from using manure or compost to enhance fertility of their land, while giving a free pass to CAFO’s (confined animal feeding operations) that poison our land and water while fostering horrific animal cruelty. Once the land grab occurs, any hope of oversight disappears, which opens the way for corporations to come in and frack, mine or monocrop without protesters.

These land grabs often occur over bogus environmental concerns that touch the hearts of well meaning people. End results, however, steal vast tracks of land where only authorized offices can tread. With Citizens United and the recent Supreme Court decision to protect/endorse big money in politics, we can well imagine what happens once the land gets into corporate hands. I’m all for real environmental protection, as in, get the corporations out of our water supplies! Get GMO’s out of our food chain with their genetic drift and horrendous pesticides and herbicides. Protect, rather than euthanize, endangered species, and keep them situated in the complex biodiversity in which they used to thrive. These land and water grabs are a bunch of BS, and if Americans and other “first world” nations don’t want to become the next Beehive Collective triptych, we would all be wise to take responsibility for ourselves and resist in whatever creative and empowered ways we can.

About the Trigger Word “Sustainable”

After yesterday’s post about the trigger word “entitlement,” someone asked me, “How is sustainable a trigger word? In that it implies the current way is not sustainable? I don’t quite understand it.” I have posted on Agenda 21 before, but some people either weren’t interested, didn’t read my blog then, or haven’t made the connection. I don’t think any of you are “dummies,” but the Agenda 21 For Dummies video [below] summarizes things quite well. As you watch, you’ll learn that “sustainable” became the less offensive code word for “Agenda 21,” another of those global control treaties signed in 1992, along with the dreaded Codex Alimentarius.

The Codex focuses on controlling every aspect of our lives through food, in particular by restricting everything to BigAg and BigPharma, including mandatory rBGH in all cows and milk and the regulation of all foods, crops and natural supplements. Europe is seeing the fruits of Codex in action with the move to criminalize all heirloom seeds just two years after making most herbs and natural remedies illegal. Enforcement presents challenges, but Europeans have already witnessed major restrictions on homeopathic medicines, “novel” foods (i.e. most superfoods that weren’t introduced in Europe until after 1992) and now with seed saving and even growing anything non-GMO-corporate owned.

Agenda 21 focuses on restricting land use. Just as the Codex presents itself as an innocuous attempt to “protect” people from “potentially harmful substances” (like peppermint or organic foods!), Agenda 21 presents itself as a logical, eco-friendly way to build communities. The initial stages make so much sense that many communities find themselves saturated in Agenda 21 dogma and financial agreements before they realize what they’ve signed on for. Like Codex and now the TPP, Agenda 21 aims for total global control, rejecting national sovereignty, state or local laws in favor of corporate-government decided “regulations.” The end game involves postage stamp sized mini-apartments, stacked high into the sky in extremely dense urban areas with rural life ended as “unsustainable” and the Earth left free for only a small number of self-appointed elites. The rest of the world’s population will remain corralled in mega-cities, all in the name of “smart growth and sustainability.”

I won’t post the rather colorful reply I sent to my friend who asked about why some people take offense at the word “sustainable,” as this topic really gets the Fire Faery spewing creative …. well, you get the idea. I love, love, love Mama Earth, but I prefer people directed initiatives, not sneaky, co-opted local “decisions” designed to steal land without compensation, dumb down our population (yes, Common Core follows Agenda 21 guidelines) or turn pristine natural areas into high density housing or business parks in the name of “saving Gaia.” Can you spell crony-Communist hypocrites? I can. Agenda 21 sounds good. At first. But when you dig deeper, you begin to recognize some truly disturbing, yet somehow not surprising, globalist takeover tactics. Although every entity has some kind people working in it, in general, the UN is not your friend.

I will post several videos and links below, so that you can educate yourselves. Goshen is saturated in Agenda 21 initiatives, and many people here find those changes (bike paths, neighborhood associations, revamped higher density downtown buildings) some of the most positive things happening here. These changes seem so innocuous and obviously positive that many liberals cannot understand the massive Tea Party resistance to something as seemingly no-brainer as a bike path. What liberals don’t realize is that this — “Goshen has been selected as 1 of 10 pilot communities to work with the American Planning Association (APA) Sustaining Places program on developing Comprehensive Plan standards. The city will likely be incorporating some of the APA standards into the update of the current comprehensive plan.” — is in-your-face Agenda 21.

Instead of refusing to participate, though, I intend to attend all the planning meetings I can. Why not have influence on where I live? The globalists will push their agenda anyway, tying to standardize guidelines around the globe. Since some of the core principles of Agenda 21 make sense, some of us have decided to attend the meetings to figure out ways to implement needed changes without bowing to federal funding that traps our community into unforeseen agreements. Yes, the creative work around! We cannot honestly look at the state of our world and our land and refuse to recognize that we need to change. The question becomes how will we change? And at whose demand? Since Goshen exists as one of only 10 pilot communities for this project, I view this as a great opportunity to honor the planet in ways that also respect people’s freedom and property, especially our precious, small organic farms.

If you live in one of the following 10 pilot communities, I encourage you to get busy and make your voice heard. You probably won’t get your community out of prearranged agreements, but you can have major influence over the way things go down. As Julian Rose says in his latest fabulous article, “Now You’re in Charge.” Clear your vision and find the courage and conviction to help implement it. When each of us does what we can in our own communities, we ensure the most positive outcomes around the world. Just because some people came up with a tricky global plan for domination, doesn’t mean we can’t pick and choose the best fruits from that plan while refusing to let those fruits’ seeds take over the world. We have influence — far more than most people recognize. The globalist control freaks count on the peon’s not stepping into their own power and responsibility.

According to the Sustaining Places site: “APA has selected 10 pilot communities to help refine the plan standards developed by the Comprehensive Plan Standards Working Group and explore the possibility of a designation program:

Auburn, Washington
Foxborough, Massachusetts
Goshen, Indiana
Memphis/Shelby County, Tennessee
New Hanover County, North Carolina
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Rock Island, Illinois
Seattle, Washington
Savona, New York
Wheeling, West Virginia

“These communities were selected based on the following criteria:

Size of jurisdiction
Geography
Stage in comprehensive planning process
Commitment to monthly conference calls and attendance at the National Planning Conference (NPC) in Atlanta April 2014

“If you have comments or questions, send an e-mail to compplan@planning.org .”

Below you’ll find some of the best videos and links I’ve found, which explain Agenda 21. If you know what you’re dealing with, you can much better navigate the fine line between empowered, intelligent communities ready for the future … and complete global dystopia living in shoe boxes without a breath of fresh air, individuality or freedom. You decide by your vision and your actions.

For those who think this is all Right-Wing conspiracy crazy talk, I’d suggest you visit the site: Democrats Against U.N. Agenda 21.

The following video shows a Democrat Pro-Choice Lesbian speaking to a Tea Party luncheon, because these people recognize the need to work together:

Abby Martin ~ NY Times Endorses TPP’s Corporate Coup d’état

Breaking the Set:

Abby Martin talks about the New York Times’ bizarre endorsement of the Trans Pacific Partnership, a multi-nation trade deal that is being negotiated by corporations behind closed doors and kept secret from the public. (Thanks, G!)

Please let your “representatives” in Congress know that you support them demanding details about this treaty before it’s passed in secret. Yes, non-compliance is an option, but what has been leaked of TPP, is pretty outrageous stuff that completely undermines national sovereignty and any local attempts to improve food quality, labels, work conditions or sharing of information. As with all international trade agreements designed by globalists (such as Codex Alimentarius), it’s much easier to prevent passage than it is to turn the tide once these regulations go into effect. TPP actually allows corporations to sue nations or localities whose laws interfere with their profits!

Jon Rappoport ~ Obamacare Sign-Up Crash: What’s Really Behind It?

Jon’s latest post goes right along with what I repostedyesterday, “The Bankers Manifesto of 1892” in relation to more going on with this government shutdown and Obamacare than meets the eye. You see, the controllers behind the curtain have always wanted to create “Order Out of Chaos.” Their New World (Globalist) Order requires chaos. That’s why I encourage each person to create your own order from chaos by getting exceptional clarity on what kind of world you desire to experience. Chaos offers possibilities, and the globalists’ overreach can easily backfire. We, on the other hand, can use the stirred up pot to create amazing new recipes of love, success and joy.

Jon Rappoport ~ Obamacare Sign-Up Crash: What’s Really Behind It?

http://nomorefakenews.com

It’s easy to say the government always screws things up and, therefore, the crash of its Obamacare sign-up system is merely another example of gross incompetence.

But this is shortsighted. White House officials knew, months ago, the online site was an unmitigated disaster, and yet they let the train continue speeding down the track to its inevitable crackup.

To understand this, we need to go back to the opening salvo in the Obamacare drama.

To his advisors’ shock and surprise, Obama, taking office in 2009, announced that his first big move was going to be national health insurance.

His people assumed jobs would be the top priority. The nation was clamoring for a solution. People were out of work. Banks were foreclosing on homes. Families were in peril.

How could the President misread the national mood so badly? National health insurance? Now? Where the hell did that come from?

The 1993 track record of earlier efforts, headed by Hillary Clinton and her buffoon of a consultant, Ira Magaziner, had run aground, failed miserably, and stirred up considerable animosity.

Obama was going to lead with this again? Bring on a storm of contentious clashes in the Congress, the press, and the nation at large?

What was he thinking?

He wasn’t. A super-ambitious campaign on this issue had to come from somewhere else. Obama’s high-flying humanitarian rhetoric notwithstanding, the man was acting as an agent of change. An agent.

He was taking dictation.

And sure enough, he sank the country in a hostile grinding debate that persists to this day. Meanwhile, the economy and jobs went begging.

When the Obamacare bill finally passed, without anyone reading it, and when subsequent arm-twisting led the Supreme Court to call the individual mandate a tax (a transparently preposterous strategy), thus clearing the way for implementation, amid loud cries of fraud, there remained another opportunity for promoting disaster:

A system for enrollment that wouldn’t work, that would crash, that would look like a bevy of drunken idiots ($634 million richer) had put it together with scotch tape and a random number generator.

At a much high level of op, Obamacare was always invented chaos.

It was intended to be.
The target was America itself. As in destabilization.
This is a strategy as old as the hills.

In this case, the people in charge, behind the scenes, are Globalists (think Rockefeller, for starters). For over a hundred years, their objective has been the takedown of the United States, one of the strongest holdouts against a planetary management system, in which, ultimately, national borders are erased and individual countries cease to exist.

In 1971, David Rockefeller’s intellectual consigliere, Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote: “…[the] nation state as a fundamental unit of man’s organized life has ceased to be the principal creative force: International banks and multinational corporations are acting and planning in terms that are far in advance of the political concepts of the nation-state.”

Achieving such a goal, however, is not simply a matter of standing back and watching evolution take it course. It involves torpedoing major institutions, regardless of how well or poorly they are serving the public interest.

In other words: promote chaos at every possible opportunity.

The extreme oddness of choosing national health insurance as the first planned shot out of the White House, in 2009, was, at the most important level, an exercise in stirring the national pot with a multi-blade fan engine.

Chaos has several aims; among them: raising the level of frustration; dividing the populace; engendering heating conflicts; demoralizing citizens; producing a sense of helplessness; and rendering large numbers of people into a state of surrender and passivity.

It is a prelude to a New Order. A more heartless and repressive Order.

Obamacare is just one example among hundreds.

Operation Chaos has been targeting the United States for well over a hundred years.

Of the dozen or so possible first steps of a Presidency, Obama chose the one that would produce the most discord.

Because US presidents rarely mention Globalism and its tentacles and plans and organizations, it is assumed the issue isn’t of high importance.

But since the closing days of World War 2, (and, actually, much earlier), when members of the Rockefeller Council on Foreign Relations were tapped to write the blueprint for the United Nations, when the outline of the Marshall Plan was drafted, when the first serious meetings of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) were set in stone, every American President has looked the other way, when Globalism has reared its head.

That’s FDR all the way through to Obama.

And during that 70-year period, ops small, medium, and large have been launched to weaken the United States and entangle it in the Globalist framework.

For the two terms of Obama’s Presidency, national health insurance was chosen as a bare electric wire, to shock, stimulate, and magnify dormant hostilities throughout the country.

To the Globalists, the respective merits and flaws in a national healthcare system are of absolutely no concern. It is simply one more opportunity to “crash the system” and produce a hole in the fabric of national life.

For these men, the issue of Obamacare “has legs.” They will squeeze more out of it, for their own purposes, in the months and years ahead.

Mired in the quite serious and real pros and cons of a national health plan, people will miss the bigger picture and pass by it without a glance of recognition.

The manipulators don’t pick trivial issues. Distraction requires presenting people with forceful conflicts.

It requires the belief that events are what they seem and the motives behind them are clear and on the surface.

Katherine Paul and Ronnie Cummins – Two Secret Trade Agreements Threaten To Undo Our Last Shreds Of Food Safety – 18 June 2013

If this doesn’t encourage people to grow their own food, only buy from local farmers they know and seriously consider turning vegetarian, then I don’t know what will. Can you say, “No more food regulations that might offend some country with even less food standards than the rapidly declining U.S. ‘phood’ regulations?!” Thanks, Lucas!

Katherine Paul and Ronnie Cummins – Two Secret Trade Agreements Threaten To Undo Our Last Shreds Of Food Safety – 18 June 2013

If you think the U.S. government is doing a sub-par job of keeping your food safe, brace yourself. You could soon be eating imported seafood, beef or chicken products that don’t meet even basic U.S. food safety standards. Under two new trade agreements, currently in negotiation, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) could be powerless to shut down imports of unsafe food or food ingredients. And if it tries, multinational corporations will be able to sue the U.S. government for the loss of anticipated future profits.

More frightening? Negotiations for both agreements are taking place behind closed doors, with input allowed almost exclusively from the corporations and industry trade groups that stand to benefit the most. And the Obama Administration intends to push the agreements through Congress without so much as giving lawmakers access to draft texts, much less the opportunity for debate.

Designed to grease the wheels of world commerce, the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) would force the U.S. and other participating countries to “harmonize” food safety standards. That means all countries that sign on to the agreement would be required to abide by the lowest common denominator standards of all participating governments.

So for instance, say Vietnam allows higher residues of veterinary antibiotics in seafood than the U.S. allows, and Vietnam and the U.S. both sign on to the TPP. As a trade partner, the U.S. could be forced to lower its standards to allow for imports of seafood from Vietnam – or face a lawsuit by the seafood exporter for depriving the company of future sales of its products in the U.S.

The U.S. has already had a taste of this type of policy under the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA). In 2005, the Canadian Cattlemen for Fair Trade sued the U.S. government for banning imports of beef and live Canadian cattle after a case of mad cow disease was discovered in Canada. In the end, the U.S. prevailed, but not until it had spent millions to defend itself in court. Mexico wasn’t so fortunate when three companies (Corn Products International, ADM/Tate & Lyle and Cargill) sued the Mexican government for preventing imports of high fructose corn syrup. Mexico lost all three cases, and was forced to pay out a total of $169.18 million to the three firms.

Among the many gifts to Big Ag contained in the TTIP and TPP? Back-door entry for their genetically modified seeds and crops. Countries, including those in the European Union, could find it increasingly difficult to ban, or even require the labeling of, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), if biotech companies determine that those countries’ strict policies restrict fair trade and infringe on the companies’ “rights” to profit.

The TTIP and the TPP are, individually and combined, two of the largest free trade agreements in world history. According to the Citizens Trade Campaign (CTC) the TPP alone covers 40 percent of the global economy. That percentage will likely grow, because the agreement allows for other countries, besides the 12 currently involved, to “dock on” after the agreement is in place.

Both the TTIP and TPP could have dangerous consequences for food safety in the U.S., and around the world. But they’re not limited to food or agriculture policy. Both also contain sweeping policies that could affect everything from the environment and sustainability, to healthcare, Internet freedom and the financial markets. Given the potential of these agreements to shape global policy on so many fronts, it’s reasonable to assume that negotiators would actively solicit, and take into careful consideration, input from the affected parties, including consumers, farmers and governments.

Instead they’ve taken the opposite approach. From day one, negotiations for the TTIP and TPP have been shrouded in secrecy. The public and participating governments, including the U.S. Congress, have been shut out of the negotiating process, denied access to everything from early proposals to final draft texts.

Why the secrecy? The Obama Administration wants as little public debate as possible, so it can ram the agreements through Congress using something called “Fast Track.” Fast Track, a product of the Nixon presidency, strips Congress of its authority to control the content of a trade deal and hands that authority over to the executive branch. Congress gets a vote, but only after the negotiations have been completed, and the agreements have been signed. No debate. No amendments. Just a fast, forced vote, too late for Congress to have any influence.

According to the CTC, two-thirds of Democratic freshmen in the U.S. House of Representatives have expressed serious reservations about the TPP negotiations and the prospect of giving Fast Track authority to the President. And more than 400 organizations representing 15 million Americans have already petitioned Congress to do away with Fast Track in favor of a more democratic approach to trade agreement negotiations. So far those pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

If the public is shut out, and Congress gets no say, who gets a seat at the table? Corporations. That’s right. The Obama Administration is trusting corporations like Dow AgroSciences, Cargill and DuPont, and trade groups like the Pork Producers Council and Tobacco Associates, Inc., to write food safety policies. In all, more than 600 corporations have been given access to drafts of various chapters of the TPP. Requests for the same level of access, from members of Congress and from the public, have been denied.

No wonder then that, according to leaked drafts obtained by groups like the CTC, Public Citizen and the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP), the TPP contains proposals designed to give transnational corporations “special rights” that go far beyond those possessed by domestic businesses and American citizens, says Arthur Stamoulis, executive director of the CTC. Experts who have reviewed the leaked texts say that TPP negotiators propose allowing transnational corporations to challenge countries’ laws, regulations and court decisions, including environmental and food safety laws. Corporations will be allowed to resolve trade disputes in special international tribunals. In other words, they get to do an end run around the countries’ domestic judicial systems, effectively wiping out hundreds, if not more, domestic and international food sovereignty laws.

U.S. consumers aren’t the only ones who should be up in arms about these trade agreements, the secrecy around their negotiations, and the Obama Administration’s intent to fast-track them. Under the TTIP and TPP, consumers in countries that have stricter food safety regulations than those in the U.S. will see their standards lowered, too. For instance, Japan prohibits the use of peracetic acid to sterilize vegetables, fruits and meat, while the U.S., Canada and Australia allow it. Japan’s health ministry, in anticipation of the TPP, has said the country will add the acid to its approved list. In all, Japan has approved only about 800 food additives, to the more than 3,000 approved in the U.S. Japan’s consumers could soon see a sudden reversal of laws enacted to protect their health.

European consumers will also suffer. Europe has long used the precautionary principle to ban ractopamine in meat, chlorine rinses of poultry and the use of rBGH growth hormone in milk production. Under the TTIP, Europe could be forced to allow all three in order to meet the lowest common denominator rule. The precautionary principle removes the burden of proof from policymakers, allowing them to make discretionary decisions in situations where there is the possibility of harm, given the lack of scientific proof to the contrary. But that principle flies out the window under TTIP rules.

The Organic Consumers Association is urging consumers to petition President Obama and Interim U.S. Trade Representative Miriam Sapiro to release the draft texts of the TTIP and TPP, and encourage full and open debate on the policies contained in both agreements. The petition also asks President Obama to end the Fast Track option, and grant Congress the ability to debate and amend the agreements, before voting on them.

With the world’s food supply, and consumers’ health, already endangered by chemical-intensive industrial agriculture and climate change, the U.S. and other governments should be looking for ways to promote sustainable food and agriculture policies, not restrict governments’ abilities to do so. Instead, the Obama Administration is subverting the principles of democracy in favor of handing a few transnational corporations unprecedented power to put profits above the health and well being of consumers.
