A Suggestion in Light of the EBT Failure

I just sent the following email to the two main facilitators of Transition Goshen, but I thought I’d share the suggestions here, as well. You don’t need to live in a Transition Town in order to view the writing on the wall and respond to that with preemptive action.

Here’s what I wrote, in light of this past weekend’s food stamp “glitch,” minus the personal details to each of them:

As you both know, I have long been predicting that the food stamp program would lose its funding and that this could become one of those traumas for which Goshen prepares ahead of time. I’m not sure if you’ve both heard, but the EBT (food stamp) program got shut down in 17 states this past weekend. I immediately felt this was a test to see how people would react, and predictably, in some stores, immediate looting, ransacking and threats of riots occurred. In others, where the stores took pity on people unable to bring food home to their families, the stores allowed temporary $50 checkout limits that would be retroactively deducted from cards. This resulted in various people checking out multiple times, in one case racking up nearly $700 in false charges.

The system only went down for a few hours in 17 states, and people freaked out. Despite three vastly different reasons given for the EBT outage, along with assurances that this was “just a glitch,” the USDA just this week instructed states that EBT would no longer be funded after November 1 — in any state — unless they reach some compromise in Washington. Who knows how this political charade will play out, but that’s not my point in writing to you.

Looking at this from a systems point of view and a “the problem is the solution” mindset, I’m wondering if you might want to post something on Facebook and/or send out an email suggesting that people could preempt a local crisis if those who are able would make some sizable food donations to various local organizations like The Window, Salvation Army, etc. I don’t know what all of these would be, but it seems to me that there may be increased need for things like baby formula, food for children, non-perishables like canned foods, pasta and dried veggies, etc.

People do horrid things to one another when they cannot feed their children. We live in a good community with a lot of caring people in it. Why not address this situation ahead of time by providing as strong a community safety net as we possibly can? Why not keep our community’s support for one another as a strong point, rather than allowing a me-first survival attitude to kick in because people feel forced to steal for food?

Please feel free to post my words or revise them to your own specifications. I just feel this is a very important message to get out to the Transition Community. Perhaps the wackos in Washington will find ways to compromise, but any number of other situations loom in which having extra food available for those who need it would be an excellent idea. Failing to prepare for this scenario invites unnecessary trauma from which it may be difficult for people to recover. In this time of increased political rhetoric polarizing and agitating citizens, let’s face our looming challenges and do what we can ahead of time. Community safety nets can be stronger, more voluntary (and much more important) than government ones.

Many Thanks!

Chaos and the Dancing Star

Whew! These solar flares are really digging up some old stuff, or at least … something is. I keep hearing from friends and clients that issues they thought they had long left behind have recently demanded further attention. In my own life, I’ve spent the past couple weeks alternately in joy, excitement, and expansion, with the occasional, “What the??? Where did that come from?” Of course, my ego reminds me exactly where that came from, and exactly why “those feelings are completely justified and even mild, given the actual circumstances.” If I still lived from that ego space, I could totally indulge in a negativity bender that would turn me off track and into a default, hell on Earth reality. That sounds extreme, and yet, we live in extreme and interesting times.

In a world so full of chaotic timelines dancing like the stars, vying for a chance to become “real,” our thoughts and emotions matter on a grand scale. That sentence just got away from me. Now that I reread it, the English Major in me feels compelled to break it down. First of all, that’s how I see timelines right now, as dancing stars, which of course, reminds me of my favorite quote by Nietzsche: “You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.” Chaos within, chaos without.

Yep, we’ve got chaos these days, and it plays out as a huge variety of potential collective timelines. In the past, very few people knew about conscious reality creation. That information remained the secret tool of a self-proclaimed “elite,” who focused, obsessed, performed rituals, co-opted politics, the media, food, and energy industries, and manipulated the vibration of everyone around them, so that they and only they could control what happened. As more people have begun to wake up, and as teachers like Dr. Joseph Murphy, Abraham-Hicks and others have begun to reveal how co-creation happens, way more people actively participate in reality creation. Before, we had the elite’s preferred (bizarrely destructive and exclusive) timeline and the masses accepting a (disempowering, enslaved and confusing) default reality. Now, we have unexplored galaxies of timelines: roiling and churning with the dominant vibrational waves of the collective.

In the ripple effects of a Big Bang, which waves do we choose to surf? Which ones will carry us to a distant shore? Which waves crash into other waves to create a vastly different trajectory? Which waves do we realize, mid-journey, really don’t feel right anymore? Can we imagine a more preferable wave (timeline) and hop on? The cool thing about chaos is that waves that might otherwise not have touched, can suddenly tumble into close proximity. With focus and intent, we can easily hop from wave to wave. We can make sudden leaps whose final trajectory goes somewhere far, far away from the initial wave we conjured up in our imaginary Big Bang cry for change. We determine whether our individual (and to some extent our collective reality) looks like a prison planet or Heaven on Earth: the more people vibing with love, joy, freedom, peace and responsible co-creation, the more of those things we find in our world.

But back to that sentence: In a world so full of chaotic timelines dancing like stars, vying for a chance to become “real,” our thoughts and emotions matter on a grand scale. Yes, our thoughts and emotions matter; they literally become matter. In all this chaotic dancing of stars and timelines, certain energies will take form. We can direct that materialization with our Will, with disciplined thoughts and emotions. When less desired thought patterns or negative emotions surface, we can notice these and look for lessons. Curiosity shifts energy from victimization, judgment and suppression to a more expansive and optimistic vibe. If we want to create a New Earth, then how we respond to our own inner process affects the Earth we build.

Shooting down negativity feels like repression. Do we want to create that? On the other hand, wallowing in that negativity feels disempowered. Do we really want to continue the victim-abuser-savior paradigm? Finding the lesson and forgiving the entire relationship and situation frees us to return to our preferred reality creation — kind of like an artist taking a moment to pay a bill or go to the bathroom, then returning to that incredible canvas! We can get upset about having to pay the bill or pee, or we can just get the job done, so that we can get back to creating what looks so beautiful and feels soooo good.

In a world so full of chaotic timelines dancing like the stars, vying for a chance to become “real,” our thoughts and emotions matter on a grand scale. And now for the toughest part, at least for me this week (and I wrote that at 777 words — “777: You are definitely on the right path in every area of your life. Stay balanced and spiritually aware so that you can continue moving forward on this illuminated path.” DV’s Angel Numbers 101). “On a grand scale.” Judgment. “The measure you give will be the measure you get.” “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.” In light of the supposedly imminent arrests and prosecution of so many NWO cronies, part of me sounds just as bad as the NDAA, the Enemy Expatriation Act, and H.R. 347. I don’t feel proud of that judgment; it’s not my dominant intent or vibration. But it’s there.

If I allow myself to get worked up about living in a police state, I notice my ego becoming even more draconian. I start wondering about those people who took advantage of me when I had a brain injury; or the self-proclaimed “helpful” people who’ve tried to claim my talents and money as their own; negative people I know who play the victim only so they can continue to abuse others without challenge. I start wondering, “Will those people Ascend to the New Earth?” And … if I let my ego have it’s say, I think, “Well, God, I sure hope not! Because in my New Earth, that’s not allowed. Those people can just stay here on the old Earth. It’ll serve them right.” Eeegads! My ego sounds like a Right Wing Christian Fundamentalist! At this point, I tell that ego to go take a bath, preferably with sea salt and some relaxing essential oils. Or a walk in nature, where the giant trees can awe this tiny Napoleon back into silence. I remind myself:

“I know what I choose to co-create. I also know that we can’t make anyone else choose what we believe is the best reality. It’s an individual thing, a vibrational thing, and it really makes no difference to me whether Barack Obama, questionable Lightworkers, the Galactic Federation, or ancient Lemurians wind up in my reality, so long as that reality includes love, light, freedom, joy, and responsible co-creation. I am not ‘the grand scale.’ Getting all wrapped up in judgment, tempting though that is, creates an awful lot of ties to ‘what is.’ I feel far more excited about what is coming and about becoming those changes as much as possible. I don’t choose to live in a police state, so, while I have my preferences for how things shift, I will not get attached to the exact how’s and the absolute need to punish every single person who has ever done anything not of the light. That would pretty much BE a police state. I just choose to focus on what I want as I know that creates and attracts more of those things.”

Once I reaffirm those beliefs and intentions, my ego shuts up. Not in shame, but definitely with some long overdue humility. Hey, ego! I’ve got it covered. Thanks for playing, but I’ll take it from here. Why don’t you go balance my checkbook or play with some mineral makeup? It’ll be fun for you, and then I can get back to this glorious creation. Don’t worry, ego. I’ll keep loving you into Light as I birth my dancing star. I already feel the contractions, and this promises to be one orgasmic birth!
