New Moon in Gemini ~ May 30, 2022

I’m posting this one early, too, because yowza! Preparation allows us to surf these energies and even benefit from them. My May 2022 Forecast shared:

May 30 New Moon in Gemini, 7:30 a.m. Eastern US time. The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon point is AN AIRPLANE PERFORMING A NOSE DIVE. Will it be a Blue Angels show — or a crash from the air? The stakes could not be higher. Success takes boldness, but we’ll have that with a sextile from the Jupiter/Mars conjunction in fiery Aries. Meanwhile, Mercury and the North Node in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius, urging us to negotiate what seems like an impossible situation. Suspense, action, skill. “Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly, Pack up, let’s fly away!”

These energies are real nail biters, but they hold great potential for an amazing turnaround. Dane Rudhyar’s full Sabian Symbol description adds further nuance:

PHASE 70 (GEMINI 10°): AN AIRPLANE PERFORMING A NOSE DIVE.

KEYNOTE: A superior ability to challenge nature and play with danger.

Through the controlled use of mental powers man is able to challenge the most basic force in nature: gravitation. He enjoys playing with it as a lion tamer with his violent animals. But what he challenges is within himself as well as outside. Gravitation is the universal binding force of the material world. By challenging it man prepares himself to pierce beyond the physical and to reach higher realms of existence. He may lose the struggle, but that prospect makes the effort more exciting. He might gain “immortality.”

This is the final stage of the fourteenth sequence. The symbol for it has a strong sense of finality. No possibility of half measures exist. Man is committed irrevocably to success or failure — at least as a conscious and self-reliant mind. The alternatives are clear-cut. One may describe it as MIND vs. MATTER, or as Man’s will against the fate that gravitation so aptly symbolizes.

Mercury conjunct the North Node at this time encourages on-path information and communication. Our understanding aligns with the collective destiny point, and this new worldview helps to turn the plane around. This is not a time for bravado and misplaced confidence. It’s a time to take calculated risks — recognizing the stakes and troubleshooting ahead of time. In the moment, things could happen very fast, but if we’ve practiced, imagined, and otherwise prepared ourselves in advance, this New Moon supports bold moves and quantum leaps. We can literally transcend the prior limitations of our own minds.

Mercury and the North Node in Taurus squaring Saturn in Aquarius put extra emphasis on the need for sober, practical risk assessment. This is not a time for pie in the sky “oh, it’ll all work out” thinking. It’s a time to look Truth in the face and come up with innovative solutions to a seemingly hopeless and impossible state of affairs. Only by facing hard, cold reality, can we tap into the level of inspiration and support we need. Divine help is at hand, but we aren’t inclined to receive that help if we don’t think we need it.

The saying, “There are no atheists in foxholes” tracks with this New Moon. Neptune in Pisces sextile Mercury and the North Node, and a sextile to the New Moon from Jupiter/Mars in Aries add to our capacity for faith. But we need to ground that faith in action and understanding. A true partnership with the Divine will turn the plane around. Without that alignment, the plane will probably crash. All odds point to disaster, but in those moments of greatest desperation — when we synchronize with Divine Will — miracles happen. God helps those who help themselves, and in the darkest times, God performs the greatest feats.

Prepare yourself, because now is such a time.

Addendum: I had this post already written and scheduled for 5:55 a.m. publication. It’s 2:53 a.m., and I just wrote up a dream during which I realized that this New Moon offers a chance to set intentions for later this Fall when Mars crosses that same point in Gemini.

Watch for flickers (aka previews) of issues and concerns leading up to this May 30th New Moon. These will offer hints of future trajectories, which we can shift by recognizing the signs ahead of time. Use this awareness to set intentions and create strategies for later this year and into 2023.

This can be a personal or collective process. If you have significant placements around 5-15 Gemini (plus Sagittarius, Pisces or Virgo), you’ll be most affected by the New Moon. If you have natal placements or relationship synastry around 20-29 degrees Taurus or Aquarius (plus Scorpio or Leo), you’ll be most affected by the Mercury/North Node square Saturn aspect that occurs at the time of the New Moon. With the North Node involved, everyone will be affected in some way, but people with those degrees will receive most of the “Achtung, Baby!” around the time of this New Moon.

I view this as a gift from that Jupiter/Mars sextile — a master daredevil telling you how to fly your plane. Think of it as support for pulling a Blue Angels turnaround instead of crashing and burning. Again: help is available. This is a literal “heads up” to see the amazing opportunity so you can seize it and fly high instead of crashing and burning.

  2. This New Moon point sits right between the US natal Uranus and Descendant, which may be why Mars conjuncting that point three times from September 2022-February 2023 is worth preparing for. We’ll have a Mars/Uranus/North Node in Taurus conjunction in late July/early August. That’s a potent, game changing cosmic event … but the Mars transit through Gemini for almost six months will hit the US Uranus, Descendant and Mars multiple times. These are volatile transits, worth planning ahead for.

  3. We certainly could do with that Divine helping hand right now.
    Thank you for sharing.
Intuitively I feel June may well be a pivotal month of eventful happenings.
We may need to buckle up for some turbulence.
But I’ve a good feeling of calm, after the storm…. 💕🥰💕

    • Yes, I’ve been working on my June 2022 Forecast, and it feels like some sleeper energies that kind of sneak up on you. They seem subtle but pack a real wallop. I’m hoping for significant collective shifts in June, so that July’s insanely powerful transits are quantum leap triggers. ❤
