Charles Eisenstein ~ The Lid is Off

This is the best article I’ve read about the election and various revelations happening, particularly in the U.S., and how that all relates to us on a personal and collective level. This piece illustrates what I tell so many clients: Earth herself is in an integration phase, and this directly relates to human evolution. Thanks to Bo of Orgonia for sending this piece my way.

Here’s a little excerpt, followed by a link to the full, excellent article:

Charles Eisenstein ~ The Lid is Off

It is getting harder to keep a secret these days. The collective shadow of our society, once safely relegated to the dark basement of the unmentionable, is now exposed to daylight, forcing us to face our contradictions. I’ll offer three examples: Donald Trump’s leaked recordings, Hillary Clinton’s emails and Wall Street speeches, and the endless procession of videos of police brutality.

Once upon a time, “locker room talk” like Donald Trump’s lewd and degrading remarks leaked to the media would have stayed safely sequestered from public view. Misogynistic locker room banter existed, as it were, in an alternate universe. … [read the rest here.]

This resonates deeply with me as I have been contemplating how this campaign has represented much of our collective conscious and unconscious. Are we willing to see what is being revealed to us and do the work. Or is it easier to deny and point fingers saying this isn’t me or I am better than this, I’m not like them. Thanks so much Laura

    • Thanks for the reblog, Dawn! Yes, the pointing of fingers has been particularly troubling, as has a certain smugness on the Democrat side and a certain hatred on the Republican side. It’s both/and and neither/nor … How much more odious candidates do we need in order for the collective and individuals to stop looking for saviors, and instead to integrate within ourselves and take responsibility for our own lives and creations?

As a longtime gym locker room user I’ve noticed a definite shift over the years where misogynistic locker room banter has all but evaporated, things are shifting 🙂 Excellent article, am posting this on my book of faces, perhaps my family and ‘photo friends’ collectively frothing in cognitive dissonance might step back for a moment for Self reflection about these two extremely polarizing humans.

  5. exactly!! thanks for sharing this. i’ve been saying how this stuff doesn’t bother me at all and how amusing it actually is. finally people are being faced with what has always been there, over and over, and like with everything, it’s all surfacing in a triggering way to be dealt with and for each of us to come clean with and to terms with within ourselves…and it will be – one way or another and whether we want to or not. opportunity is knocking…what will we each choose?

    • Yes! I have been watching the build up to this for years, and I keep telling people if they have secrets, they might want to find ways to begin to come clean, or they will lose complete control of the narrative. Things likely will not remain secret. It’s humbling for everyone, because we all have moments we are not proud of. Refusing to recognize those and integrate them on our own increases the likelihood that life will present an undeniable “opportunity” for doing so. 🙂

  6. Appreciated this ‘share’, Laura. He sums it up nicely towards the end, with “When previously hidden contradictions rise to consciousness and collide, the result is first denial and rage, followed by cognitive dissonance and the breakdown of normalcy.”
