Ryan Stone ~ The Secret Lives of Elves and Faeries: The Truth behind the Story of Rev Robert Kirk

Thanks to Anthony for forwarding the link to this Ancient Origins article! As I told him, I own both John Matthews’ book, The Sidhe, and the Reverend Robert Kirk “official” book, The Secret Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns, and Faeries. This article explores additional letters and stories that seem to indicate what many of us already suspected — namely, Rev. Kirk’s “myths and legends” recorded his actual experiences.

    Dear Laura,

I have been meaning to send this article to you on the work of my friend Sally Smith. Sally makes fairy houses.

  3. I just cannot stop wondering why he went to the land of the unseelie. What drove him? Sound like a bit of an adventure.
His true Love the Beautiful Faery needed something to survive, but it was only in the bad lands where he was forbidden. This Beautiful Faery had known him as a child, and called him to her land for help. Out of Love he went to get it, hoping not to get caught, and he succeeded. All looked perfect, until it was discovered of his trespass. The Court was held, and he would need to leave his homeland. After setting things in order (by telling his homeland the secrets he learned), he went to live with his beloved. The Secret of the Seelie was that the punishment wasn’t truly a punishment at all. Yet, the Unseelie were happy with the sacrifice, and peace settle in nicely. More peace then before.
