Happy Mercury Direct!

Take a deep breath and let it out with a long, relieved sigh: congratulations, you made it!

Yes, in answer to the many, many, many questions I’ve received from clients, blog readers and in emails, this past Mercury Retrograde must have set some records. Even people who “don’t believe in astrology” found themselves saying, “Mercury Retrograde” when their computers crashed, iPhones smashed, friendships went south, emails disappeared and financial situation went temporarily bonkers.

With planets ruled by Mercury all over my chart, I long ago needed to learn how to navigate Merc Rx, so I mostly sailed through this one. I knew to hunker down and focus on the re’s: research, review, revise, remember, reevaluate … and our house got quite the Imbolc cleaning. Multiple cleanings, in fact, since we had a busy round of visitors and house guests.

My calendar, however, reflects the insanity and rapid shifts most people experienced during the past few weeks. It looks like a chemtrailed sky, all criss-crossed with session cancellations, reschedules, and emergency sessions all jumbled together. On some days, not a single session went un-rescheduled. Occasionally, the final and original schedule ended up being the same, but getting there often involved some intense musical chairs as people frantically emailed me to change times — always synchronized with someone else needing to switch, too — only to find their original schedules fell back into place, as did mine. I had to laugh, because even with all the craziness, my calendar remained approximately the same. I just should have used pencil this Merc Rx. Actually, if I had, the pages would probably have ripped due to all the erasures! Having had numerous clients lose their entire electronic schedules, I know to use a physical, written calendar — chemtrails and all. 😉

I can’t tell you how many clients’ cell phones dropped calls, ran out of juice or otherwise lost their signal at some point during a call, because it happened pretty much every call, sometimes multiple times. I also can’t tell you how many long-time tension relationships finally exploded during the past three weeks, or how many people experienced extreme moments of clarity about decades long issues. Those who spent the time in the re’s found themselves rewarded. Those who tried to force themselves to start new projects experienced the restraining hand of the Merc Rx. If this sounds like you, please don’t judge yourself. Astrology is not destiny, but sometimes it sure feels like it! The pull during this period eclipsed all previous Mercury Retrogrades through which I’ve had the privilege of helping people. You were not alone.

On the bright side, we can slowly start moving forward with all our new insights and cleansed out lives. Doesn’t it feel good? C’mon, admit it, most of that stuff needed to go anyway, and you knew it, right? In any case, we can now survey the damages, but don’t forget to survey the gains. They will continue to reveal themselves over the next few months. (Technically, we’ve entered a stationary period in kooky Aquarius, but we’ve passed the retrograde. Things will begin to move forward in a couple days.)

Meanwhile, as my friend Toni says, “Take a breath of God.”

You made it!

Can I just say that as an accountant, MercRx during Year-End, January Close AND Audit really, really sucked. Meltdowns were all too common as folks missed deadlines, misunderstood urgent email requests, incorrect files used for audit tests…. Holy Hosanah what a cluster $#&% it has been.

But there is much to be learned from all that chaos, I know I have a laundry list of items to ponder and reflect upon. Thanks MercRx!

Thanks for the post. This morning I drew a sigh of relief upon waking and now I know why!

I kept hearing the words reclaim and recreate over the past couple of weeks which made me think that there are quite a lot of things to be and being revealed.

  8. Seattle 72, I can only just imagine what it would be like to have worked on taxes during this past Merc Rx. That’s the stuff of those panic dreams, LOL! Glad you made it through. 🙂
