The frost faeries graced our porch this morning.
Even the Foo Dogs are cold!
As of yesterday, the cold frame was hunkered down in two feet of snow, even after a brush off.
I harvested a bunch and a half of Winterbor kale before the heaviest snows piled on. (This photo shows about 4 inches less snow than we have.)
Snow time in Faery Town (houses courtesy of Grandma Van), but their train keeps running. 🙂

This little birdie watches over the gnomes, foo dogs and faery homes. Minus forty with the windchill, but warm-hearted cheer on the porch!

Thanks! It’s an antique from Spain that David’s dad had in their basement. Before we got our own washer and dryer, we used to do laundry there, and I would always tell his dad how happy the train made me. It’s on permanent loan as long as we live near a train. 🙂 His dad’s a real train buff — has created many model trains and even painted them to look like they’ve actually been in use. He has whole systems on loan in Canada, so we are just one of many, but personally, I love this one the best! ❤

How magical these photos look, and such a difference from the outside and inside pictures. I love the Christmas Cactus you have…it looks so happy there.

Yes, that Christmas cactus is very happy. All the plants have gotten even happier since I added two orgonite pucks to the terra cotta pots. Much less complaining about the heat! xx

Good Morning Laura, See you are experiencing some of our normal winter weather in the Northwest Territories Canada. The difference – we expect it and are prepared for it. We had a stretch of -40C to -45C for about 10 days and that is not a wind chill reading. Stay warm. And, remember, with climate change we can expect just about anything, so let’s get ready for it.

Hi Joyce, thanks for stopping by. I actually LOVE snow and we are well prepared for everything here. I’m very grateful our electricity stayed on, but we have double backups for that, too, just in case. I’m enjoying the brightness here. Goshen’s usually like a cold version of Northern California in the winter — very grey. The snow and sunshine are a welcome change!
